Q4Men: What % of a woman's RMV is looks/beauty for you? Also, what are the other factors and what % would you give these other factors?

I have a looks threshold, 7/10 and above. For relationships, being above 7/10 is only a marginal increase in RMV compared to personality traits that I value in a LTR. MMV is nonexistent, never getting married

If she doesn’t pass the attractiveness test she isn’t going to get considered for a relationship w/me.

Even if she passes that test she has to be a flexible giver with integrity and a good attitude before I’m interested in anything long term.

I think that spells out something like 50/50 but more like 60/40?

50% looks and 50% connection. As has been suggested elsewhere, her conduct towards you is important, but it's a complete non-starter for me anyway if she doesn't treat me with respect, and try to understand me.

I never try to second guess what will happen in the future because it's an absolute crap shoot.

It’s about half looks, half personality to me. A lot of good looking women aren’t that good looking to me, though, because their personality reflects upon their looks and gives them an unattractive appearance, in my mind.

Real MV:
Possibly negative.
I'm skeptical of pretty women in my field because people make it fucking easy for them and they're overly representative among the high paid under performing folks. It kind of contaminated my view of them.
I'd say as much as 60% in average though. Pretty girls get folks to go out of their ways to help them.

LTR/MMV:
To me it's a matter of beating a certain threshold, marginal gains past it are slim compared to other requirements.
(On my own scale) I gladly banged some 5s but I'd never commit to any. I guess my threshold for LTRs is around 6 (there are others). I like a million different subjects and a 6 that happens to like some three of them enough to make conversation probably beats an 8 that likes only one. Something like that.

It's not a % it's a minimum value.

Relationship material wise girl's got to be a 6+/10 But honestly I doubt I would marry a girl unless she was at least my own attractiveness (7/10). Then again I've been told I'm a tough judge on looks so maybe these numbers don't translate well.

It's more fun to do stuff with an attractive person, and marriage wise any children will be more attractive and have better lives for it. Maybe I'd care less I If was less attractive myself, but that's not the case so I'm not looking for settling.

20% looks 50% how she treats me (I only take words and actions into account. I don't care what she thinks unless that is expressed in words and actions) 30% how many options she has on life (Less options is better. I like to use hypergamy to my benefit)

The model is non-linear, and I can't pinpoint "looks" as a single characteristic. If she's 10/10 smoking hot except she's in a wheelchair, how does it affect her looks? - No idea. Would I date her? - Depends.

I'd say in a common TRP scale, I'd make a cutoff somewhere around 3/10. Everything below is an automatical "No, unless we're the last people on Earth"; everything above is "consider other factors".

In terms of other factors, I'd give 50% to sanity and split the rest 50% between intelligence and agreeableness/non-confrontation.

Looks is not an RMV function. If you misunderstand things this way you're likely to not understand the debate here very well.

RMV is devoid of features that operate within the SMV, and obviously looks & beauty is almost entirely the composition of female SMV.

I have a baseline. Below that, RMV drops precipitously but above that the gains are only marginal. So on the one hand, I am shallow to the extent that I would never LTR a girl who rates as a 5 or a 4, but on the other hand I am not willing to put up with nonsense in an LTR just because she rates as an 8+.

In days gone by I dated chubby chicks with a view to the long term, but at one point I had to slap myself.

Looks are about 15% as long as she's not extremely deformed and her upper arms aren't bigger than my thighs.

Not having exes with drug/law/mental problems living nearby and I'd say 45%.

Not being a baby momma to more than 1 guy and having no more than 2 kids 40%.

I'd prefer to be attracted to someone but I'm attracted to people quickly and my attraction can grow the more I start liking someone's personality. So looks/beauty play a very small role overall. More important are compatibility w.r.t personalities, similar views on family and childrearing and compatible life styles.

For me the q doesn't make sense.

It's 100% looks before I'll date her.

After that, if she's a total bitch, her looks count for 0%.

If she's a mix of bitch and nice, I might keep dating her, depending on the balance. Her looks might sway me, but it's her personality keeping me wanting to be with her by this point.

There is no breakdown.

I look at a woman. I talk to her. I wait. I see how she strikes me. I ask myself "do I wanna?"

My mind will figure it out. It'll tell me if I wanna. I know what questions my mind wants answered, I know what types of people I like and don't like. I know what physically attracts me and doesn't.

I keep saying this. You look at life like you're trying to find a scale. "It all has to fit into a hundred percent"

Try this. Every good thing is a bonus. Every bad thing is a minus. A history of cheating is -100 to one person and -10000000000 to another. A girl's specific boobs are +20 to one person and +200 to another and -5 to a third. And this is sexually only. Sexual attraction.

Do this entire process over again for personality. Shitty laugh -5. Storyteller might be -200 to one person and +1000 to another and +1 to someone else.

And as we add up who a person is and see them all together we come out with a conclusion. A balance of opinion. Positive or negative? How each thing is weighted is in all reality highly individual to them, their experiences, and their perspective. There are of course commonalities but you're trying to ask someone to just give an objective weight to something that's fifty levels deeper and more complex than the analysis you're asking for actually is.

Anyone that places a high degree on looks for RMV is an idiot (and probably why they end up divorced and bitter on TRP). Looks matter, but with marriage it's more binary and then the rest is personaltiy. You think a beautiful women is rare? A true top tier marriage material candidate is much rarer.

Of course the hotter the girl the better. But her personality (is she kind, would she make a good mother), responsibility (financially independent? Like spending money she doesn't have?), interests (is there more to her than drinking every weekend?), fitness (not the same as attractiveness though correlated. Does she care about diet and enjoy exercise. This will come into play much later in a LTR), is she intelligent, all are necessary. A women who is a 6 out of 10 and checks all those boxes is LTR material if I find her attractive. A 9/10 who doesn't check EVERY box will not be considered. I've turned down plenty of stunning women that short sighted men would have thought great wife candidates. I've also fallen for less attractive women who check every other box

I think a lot of divorce frustration from men comes from poor vetting.
