Not sexual assault, but asking an employee at work to watch you masturbate is sexual harrassment. That story sounds truthful to me, as it was corroborated by big names on set. Honestly, because they're so similar I'm inclined to believe all the stories.

The hotel room incident sounds gross but nothing illegal. They don't need to protect his privacy though. If you don't want people to talk about your dick, you probably shouldn't just spring it on them.

This is old news, stories like this have been going around about Louis CK for years. He has some kind of fetish for masturbating in front of women.

He used intimidation and his status in their industry to put them in an incredibly inappropriate situation. Drinks with colleagues, even late at night, is normal, especially in an industry like stand up where you’re “on the clock” past last call. Your implication that these women should have seen it coming is ridiculous. It would have been 100% normal for him to invite male comedians to his room for drinks and if he’d whipped his dick out on them no one would be saying “well what did those men expect”. I’ve heard these rumors about him for years, yet another open secret. This is the first one I’m truly disappointed in. I really respected Louis. He’s raising two daughters. Shame on him.

The workplace incidents were definitely sexual harassment, the rest is at the very least predatory behavior, and if he didn't want to face consequences for it he shouldn't have done it.

You can do a lot of shitty stuff that's not technically illegal. It doesn't mean people are obligated to ignore it, or support you, or watch your show, or work with you, or deal with the backlash they might get from working with you.

Anyone who genuinely believes that he just "misread signals" or whatever is gullible as hell.

Okay. He asked them if he could do it. Don't you think it's in the realm of possibility that he interpreted their laughs as a green light? (I'm sure I am going to get shit because, God forbid, they did not explicitly utter the word "yes."). Body language can signal a yes. There is nuance to sex, but this seems to get thrown out of the window.

Now, it sounds like they were not interested. Fine. They very well could have immediately left before things escalated. There was no force. How can anyone say this is sexual assault and that he is a predator? Really?

The guy sounds like he has a weird fetish. That's it. Given the absurd amount of backlash, one might think he tied then down and did not let them leave. Personal responsibility, folks. You can't have freedom and expect absolute safety at the same time. You have the responsibility to excuse yourself.

I do not think his career should be completely destroyed because of this. Are we, as a society, fine with the repercussions of defining sexual assault so loosely? I am not. It waters down serious crimes.

Personally, I think this being out in the open brings enough shame to the man. I mean, he did ask if he could take it out... they laughed... so he did it... then he touched himself. He did not actually force anything or touched anyone.

It can be classified as misdemeanour, if it was done in the public then it can be charged as indecent exposure at a public place... but this is all privately done.

I mean back in the days, when this happened amongst friends... the guy who touched himself is made fun of and the stories get passed on as a night of foolery.

But today, it is really really sensitive. I'm starting to feel that drinking sessions at a friends house will get really boring and politically correct now... boring basically... because people can accuse others of assault or harassment if they get offended.
