I'm pro-choice (I think people should be responsible and try not to get pregnant, but I believe women should always have the right to make medical decisions about their own body). I support the death penalty for particularly heinous crimes (but think the standard of proof should be beyond a conceivable doubt rather than reasonable doubt). As for drug legalization, it depends on the drug. I support legalizing marijuana, but not other drugs (though I'd decriminalize buying drugs and only criminalize the selling of drugs).

Would you date a single mother?

An actual single mother? No. A divorced mother, depending on the circumstances, or a widow? Sure, as long as I'm confident the existing kid(s) won't be a wedge between me and her, and she is willing to have plenty more kids with me - essentially have to look on a case by case basis.

Would you date someone who's not of your own ethnicity and/or religion?

Yes to both, though as an atheist, dating a theist woman would have to be considered on a case-by-case basis due to the severe differences in beliefs.

Definitely, provided she is not lazy.

Substantially more money or wealth? Not for marriage. I would want to have the primary say in spending decisions in our relationship but I don't want to be a moocher.

I plan on having enough kids and instilling family values in them that I can live with a few bad apples (of either sex) deciding not to get married and have children of their own. I'd try to push her to reconsider and if she were dead set on it I'd encourage her to pursue her dreams and do what she likes. Of course she wouldn't be getting the family starter package financial support which will be more needed by those who actually settle down and start families.

Dorky as this may sound, I believe if you're physically stronger or more readily available than someone, male or female, you have an obligation to at least offer to lend a hand, and to restrain yourself and do no harm even if they're pissing you off. I don't know if that's chivalry, but I'm pretty sure that some form of obligation is alive.

If it's something cheap I might pay for it myself; if it's a full dinner or some shit then the bill gets split. I'd be a bit concerned about what her attitudes are if she makes no indication of wanting/trying to pay, but it's not a big deal.

I don't pay, not on the first dates at least. If I am in a definite LTR I will be willing to pay sometimes. On a first date it's a bad risk/reward because there's no guarantee you'll ever see the chick again and I don't believe that paying for her food increases the chances that you will (and even have reason to suspect that it decreases those odds).

Chivalry is and has always been a retarded idea. It's fundamentally anti-egalitarian. You definitely can't espouse chivalry and be a feminist, not an honest one at least. I always split, and the vibe i give off a vibe is that their is no other acceptable option on the table. i have yet to have any problems. I have no use for 'chivalry.' Any definition anyone would care to use is either a modern term or medieval term, neither of which I care for. Whether to get married or just go LTR is a legal decision and you should consider common law marriage, tax breaks, prenups/postnups, etc. when making the decision. The "never get married" advice is not generally true if you want to live with a woman, it depends very much on the jurisdiction; especially where they have common law marriage you should often marry with a prenup instead.

1st dates are just coffee so I (usually) don't mind paying, but even then I've been burned (slightly). I met this girl at a coffee shop and before we went in she decided she wanted to go to a fancy dessert place across the street. Ok. She gets the most expensive thing on the menu and two glasses of champagne then announces she didn't bring her wallet. Maybe if we had some kind of rapport I wouldn't have felt so bad, but, while polite to one another, it was obvious from the beginning we would never see each other again. I have friends that I should be buying champagne and dessert for, not wasting it on horseshit like this.

Coming from nordic country, I expect bills to be split or taking turns. If I initiated I would pay for the first but after that ... not being ok with it would look bad on her and would not consider for LTR.
I'm egalitarian to the core and chivalry is not that. There is common courtesy and helping those in need, that is enough.
Marriage and kids - sure. I believe that having kids is worth the experience in the end. The most capable get way too few kids anyway, so it is a responsibility. Divorces probabilities etc. can be handled, choose carefully who you marry.
Abortion - absolutely. Death penalty - spending the rest of the life behind bars is a worse, so no. Possibly with well proven war crimes or heavy terrorism, but mostly no. Drugs - legalization of at least mild substance seems to work better and provides taxes, so yes to a degree,and with appropriate measurements for support.
Single mother is a maybe. I want own kids, previous ones should not interfere with this. But it is a con that has to be compensated on other aspects. Case by case, maybe more suitable as years pass, when in 50's might not be a issue.
Dating outside race and religion are not an issue. Looks, intelligence, compatibility and personality are. I would be incompatible with a fundamentalist, but as long as things say secular, wouldn't mind.
Stay at home motherhood alone is not ambitions enough. Might be a wise solution depending the situation, but there needs to be passion and drive to achieve something more. Doing small scale entrepeneurship or art-career on the side would make it better.
