I have mentored a whole bunch of men during my career, often service veterans who needed me to tell them, "Look, my own manager hired you because guys just getting out of the military are a lot more likely to say 'Yessir yessir thank you sir' when he lowballs you on salary. So here is what you need to do to nail his ass to the wall come your annual review." Among assorted other issues with operating in a civilian workplace.

In another case, I had a male student who I thought was getting jerked around very badly by the institution for which I teach. So I elevated the shit out of his case. Ended up having to rattle flag officer cages in multiple CONUS locations as well as FOBs overseas, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thinking about it still makes me mad.

I regularly help men who are seeking custody for their children. For those who are willing to play by the rules and work with the system, it's becoming much more common for good fathers who want their kids to get them.

Didn't do much for charities this year because I suck and got side tracked with my new job, moving and buying a (different) flat.

I gave a percentage of all my ebay sales to Orchid, which actually added up to quite a lot, between old furniture, my old laptop and a lot of near new clothing (new job has a different dress code). I wrote to my prison penpal on alternate days and sent him some pretty bland, soft cover novels, non-fiction and graphic novels. Writing to him personalises how stupid the prison system can be. I started a donation subscription to Mankind because one thing that will make it hard for him to reintegrate is he and his Dad didn't really have anywhere to go after they left an abusive situation, so his education was extremely patchy.

I'm a feminist but i don't really actively do anything about it. Most my activism is with refugees. I volunteer time to assist with integration, language etc. It's primarily young men but not exclusively.

I knit hats which get given out to homeless people, most of which are men. Recently my friends and I have started planning to move this project from a thing we do to a proper non-profit that will give out hats and other winter supplies.

I help women all the time, mostly with stuff they couldn't otherwise do themselves. Every girl I know thinks I'm a really nice guy, despite the fact that blue-pillers would have you believe we're all misogynistic losers. Examples from the past couple months:

Jump car battery

Move heavy furniture upstairs

Fix stuff around their apartments

Changing lightbulb a too high to reach

Training a girl at the gym

Created a roommate wanted poster using my graphic design skills

Picking a girl up from the bars at 3am when she was by herself and needed a ride

Pumping up a girl's flat car tire by hand with a bike pump

Lots of other stuff along these lines too tedious to list. Mostly fixing stuff since I'm pretty handy. Today I fixed a girl's medicine cabinets shelves which fell down and her door which wasn't closing right.

Awesome question! I did a book drive with my friend on the mainland to give books to a men's prison. No, that's slacktivism, because who cares about books? Let me tell you: Prisoners. Specifically,they wanted books more than vending machines, apparently. So, it's a small, shitty, thing, but it's a thing, and it's something. Prisoners are literally the most disenfranchised members of society, so to give to them without attaching your name of being a super super creepy women-who-loves-prisoners is a good thing. A very, very, very, small, good thing.

I take your post's point: we lack empathy. Movements ostensibly based on empathy lack empathy.

What are things we can do to help instead of complain? Let's name things instead of just hating on slacktivists! Name things that don't inadvertently support dudes who like, despise all women or feminists who despise all men.

When he divorced, my husband had 50% custody of his daughter. When we got together, his ex became jealous and wanted to give him one day a month. We consulted a lawyer who told us we had perhaps a 40% chance of winning the case. We spent upward of $30,000 fighting her in court. It was a landmark case and several others cases pended judgment waiting on the decision. I won't go into too much detail because of doxxing reasons, but men in Australia who have more than every other weekend/have stopped their ex moving away can thank us.

While I do consider myself a feminist, most of my IRL activism does not revolve around feminist causes. Most of the charities I've worked for benefited children and animals. That said:

My boyfriend and I recently had a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project. We plan to make this a regular thing. (It's a cause close to his heart; his brother is a disabled vet.)

I volunteer with the United Way teaching an ESL (English as a Second Language) course. Most of my students are male immigrants from Mexico working in construction or the oil field.

In my personal life, my boyfriend lost his mother to cancer this past Thursday (Thanksgiving here in the states.) I've been doing a lot of research on how to help someone in the grieving process and have been reaching out to others who have been through similar experiences for advice. I feel like it's my duty right now to be supportive and make his life easier in any way I can.

This is a really dumb answer but I work with autistic kids. The vast vast majority of my company's clients are male and I work exclusively with boys.

My job is to basically help them become functioning members of society. I know I get paid for it but I could be making the same amount of money in an office not getting bitten, spit on, kicked, hit, and having my hair ripped out. I stick around for them :)

I have supported charities that empower girls in developing countries. When these girls have children, both their boys and girls will be far better off, will receive a better education, more opportunities and will be healthier.

I volunteer part time for a colon cancer foundation that helps get screenings for people who otherwise can't afford it and helps with medical expenses of people who have already been diagnosed. (Colon cancer affects ~40% more men than women)

I work at a community college coaching a men's athletic team and sometimes can help get these kids out of bad situations and into schools they never thought they could go to before.

Mentioned it before, but I'm actively fighting to get homework loads reduced for elementary schoolers in my community. Fought for recess as well. I've actually had some success. I think that long hours behind a desk are really bad for boys who have more energy (it's also bad for girls, but it isn't as noticeably detrimental--with girls I think the damage is mostly internal.) Most of my fellow reformers are parents of boys who don't like seeing their normal exuberance pathologized ... most are also female.

As per the MRM, i work with a food bank and soup kitchen. I am petition my state and federal congress men to get some funding for a mens shelter in my area.

As per helping women. fighting back against this fuax victimhood bullshit that modern feminism is pushing. i have a non insignificant fear that it will lead back to more restrictive gender roles as unenlightened men and society continued to bend the selves over backwards to help the perpetual victims console there smaller and smaller units of victim hood. it tantamount to abuse really having these white knights fulfilling there victim hood complexes. so i guess the tldr is i fight positive and benevolent sexism that women face.

EDIT: Let me give you an actual answer: we give equally to men's health/ALS (more likely to affect men than women, and claimed a relative of mine), and domestic violence shelters/MS (more likely to affect women than men, and was why we buried my MIL). I've also spearheaded multiple campaigns that benefited both men's health and women's health nationwide.

We actively raise funds for local animal shelters, and I am currently putting together a 5K in our town to benefit a nonprofit that pays the medical bills of shelter animals nation wide (100% of the funds raised go to this - if anyone's interested, I'm happy to DM info). Every holiday season, we give hundreds of dollars worth of food and beds to our local charity.

We don't give to feminist or MRA causes, but we do try to give.

I do my part very locally... my own home. I am married to my husband/baby daddy and do not believe in or support divorce for myself personally. I do all traditional SAHM-ery. Enjoy the sex 4-5 times a week/average. Usually more. No starfishing because then why even do it? Period weeks are for the jobs... Blow and hand. Played the good Air Force officer's wife role for 9 years until he was medically retired for combat related injury and continue to do wifey things to support his civilian career. Amongst my children, 2 of them are boys. I'm raising them to be emotionally mature and productive people. The older of the two boys already has responsibilities and learning to express his emotions. The younger is 3 months so whatever he gets a pass for now.

I support the men in my life.

Lately I help men by talking to them (and other feminists in feminist code) about issues they face. Try to give them help as much as possible and steer them away from shit that sucks.

I help women by being feminist, and supporting consent and equal rights, listening to them, talking about consent to everyone (men and women),

Oh and tying her up when they ask me to.

I was a slacktivist when I was in line with Feminists. And I'm a slacktivist now that I've swallowed the red pill. What do I do? I vote, I bullshit on social media, and I donate to people and causes that I support. I enjoy volunteering with animals (been a while), and I've volunteered to work with autistic children (been a while longer) and people with other disabilities.

I've never volunteered specifically for women's rights / issues. I guess I'm always buying Girl Scout cookies... does that count as helping / supporting women?

I think you are seriously mislead, or just ignorant as fuck, about what MRA's actually believe. Most MRA's would probably consider themselves egalitarians(basically what feminism has always sold itself to be, but never was). Most MRA's are against gender roles against both men and women, where as most feminists only see, or care about, the gender roles that negatively affect women(generally encouraging and defending all the other fucked up gender roles that hurt men or benefit women). Most MRA's would also probably consider themselves WRA's, as opposed to feminists, because they would generally advocate for women in their daily lives about as much as they do for men(if not even more so, simply because it is far less taboo to do so).

You're the disillusioned. The misandry is absolutely real, and it is prevalent. You are absolutely out of touch with anything that could even be considered reality if you honestly believe that feminism isn't riddled with female chauvinism and misandric views(as well as intent). A major portion of MRA's started off as feminists, and experienced first hand just how blatantly misandric and one-sided feminism actually was(both in intent and how they addressed gender issues). If the misandry was non-existent, there would have never been a men's rights movement in the first place(and, arguably, feminism would have never been called feminism in the first place, and would have started off from a far more balanced perspective on gender issues).

Well, apparently the lessons that I took teaching me how not to rape have stuck, since as far as I know, I have yet to rape anyone in my entire life, and I'm pretty sure it will never happen.
