I find it a strange concept. For men, it's in their best interest to act selfish, but for women it is to act selfless?

[–]WhisperSecretly a Talking Dog14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, exactly that.

Why? Because men are hardwired to be protective of women, but not vice versa.

If a man acts selfish with a woman, she admires and respects him. If a woman acts selfish with a man, he resents her.

If a man acts selflessly to a woman, she walks all over him. If a woman acts selflessly to a man, he develops affectionate and protective feelings for her.

Selflessness and submissiveness aren't RPW's great plan to dive on a grenade just because. They are a smart strategy for getting men to care about you, and use their superior strength and toughness on your behalf.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If a man acts selfish with a woman, she admires and respects him. If a woman acts selfish with a man, he resents her.

This doesn't necessarily follow from:

Why? Because men are hardwired to be protective of women, but not vice versa.

She may also think he's not a good protector because he's not self-sacrificial enough. He may also think she's too self-sacrificial to keep herself and her womb safe.

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

For men, it's in their best interest to act selfish, but for women it is to act selfless?

I don't know…does it work? That's the question.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Work for whom?

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Does being selfish for men and selfless for women get those people what they ultimately want out of life/relationships/love/sex?

If it does, then it represents, in fact, a way of being that is in their best interest. If it doesn't, then it's not in their best interest. Simple as that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The subs make statements not only about their individual members, but about what's best for other people as well... amalt and all that.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You find it strange because you think men and women are the same

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nah I don't.

It's just a bit of a coincidence isn't it, that both the way men and women are supposed to act are geared towards the best interests of men.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men are the gatekeepers of commitment. Men jump through women's hoops to get sex, women who like masculine men with options jump through men's hoops for commitment. Its not magic

[–]exit_sandmanstill not the MGTOW sandman FFS5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The markets for instructions for men how to be selfless and for women how to be selfish are already saturated in our society...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's better to base one's beliefs on science than on revenge.

[–]exit_sandmanstill not the MGTOW sandman FFS3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is less about revenge and more about enlightened self-interest. If you asked me to describe TRP in a single sentence, it would be "your mission in life is to improve your own life, not that of women"; which is practically the opposite of the message we're getting all the time.

Well, and women get the "you can have it all"-message in our society, which basically promotes selfishness and selfcenteredness to an extreme degree. Again TRP deviates from that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your post implied it.

TRP is about seeking self-interest, but this often needs to be fired by the perception that others (women) have more, and that "they" need to be put back into their place.

The expression "have it all" is mostly used with regard to working moms (google it). If this is the pinnacle of female selfishness, it doesn't seem very bad.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's a recipe for being taken advantage of.

[–]Quintus_PillusA danger to society2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only if the submission came from overpowering, not from own will.

If a woman is voluntarily submissive, but regains the possibility of walking away if she doesn't feel good in that relationship, she can't be taken advantage of. If a woman submits either because she's coerced or because she does it out of fear (not fear of the man, but fear of loneliness, poverty, etc.) then she's in a position of neediness and weakness, not strength and she will suffer for that.

The BDSM dom/sub relationships are a good example. There are roles, but both are voluntary and both retain the possibility of just walking away. If you can walk away, you can't be abused, you can't be taken advantage of, etc.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

On one hand, I think that average women in their 20s could clean up with RPW strategies, because the average young girl is attractive to most men. However, the elephant in the RPW room is, imo, the fact that female SMV is heavily dependent on unchangeable factors, IE genetics. The vast majority of men really, truly are attracted primarily to physical appearance. There's not a whole fuck of a lot to be done about facial aesthetics, breast size, or basic body type. I have passed over quality women with all sorts of RPW traits purely because they did not have what I was looking for aesthetically. This is one of the areas where I sympathize with women as a group.

Another thing I find confusing is the RPW definition of an "alpha." I'm not sure the true TRP version of an Alpha is really tamable enough for marriage, or at least monogamy. It seems like what they really want is a high beta with leadership skills.

[–]tintedlipbalmfemale-to-tamale woman1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That "elephant" is cleared up constantly IMO. A commonly shared article over there: http://www.therulesrevisited.com/2011/09/feminine-beauty-is-highly-controllable.html Obviously people should appropriately lower their standards if they find they can't improve past a certain point in this area.

And even in the sidebar it says how a good man for a RPW is a mix of beta and alpha traits, this is very basic information.

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm not convinced feminine beauty is as controllable as RPW or even some on TRP claim it is. I think the majority of it is out of women's control. This is the advantage of being a man: while its always a winner takes all, cut throat, musical chairs type struggle with only a handful of winners, there is a lot more men can do to improve SMV than a woman can, in my opinion. Also, men's standards are almost always lower than women's, so meager SMV improvements can yield much more useful results to the average guy. My point is not that RPW should give up or not try and improve themselves, but rather that I think men have more gain potential from TRP than women do from RPW.

[–]tintedlipbalmfemale-to-tamale woman1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's interesting, I disagree completely. But then again I don't know how ugly you mean. In my observation men are much more likely to reconsider a not so attractive girl if she is being receptive and making an effort to present herself well, than women a low SMV man. And even if the standards for male beauty are looser, you guys don't have makeup or spanx, lol.

I knew a girl with the manliest jaw, she had the best body to make up for it but she was still like a 3. She got plastic surgery in the end though, it was the best thing she could do.

This is a really good point. A lot of this boils down to the raw sex drive of men, and the difficulty of satisfying it.

I disagree. When you have experienced what it's like winning the affections of an immaculate specimen of a woman only to discover she is a dead fish in bed, your standards for what is truly attractive evolve into more than "she needs to be a 10".

[–]cxj75% Redpill Core Ideas0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Holy shit this is old, how far back did you lurk lol?

And I was talking about attraction being based on physical appearance, im not saying there aren't important factors other than attraction.

Thats what TRP advices on LTRs though. TRP tells men to still be alpha but show beta from time to time in long term.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It's part of TRP so I dislike it.

I do find it hilarious that feeeeemale opinions aren't welcome in TRP but guys can mansplain all they want in RPWomen.

They went above and beyond to be nice to him, IMO. I would never expect RPW to appreciate any unsolicited input I proffered.

[–]squishles0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is a reoccuring problem there. The man disclaimer is kind of annoying when it should be obviouse, inconsequential, or not belong there.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm more just laughing at the irony of a TRPer saying "hey, this sub makes my gender feel unwelcome! Maybe you should tone down your language."

[–]DreamBoatGuy250 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

If you'd bothered to read the rest of the reply you'd have seen that I advocated for more female voices over at TRP specifically for that reason. So it wasn't actually ironic AT ALL.

That people would be so hypersensitive that a poster merely mentioning their own gender in order to give context to their post, irks people to the point where they have to ban posters from mentioning their gender is just childish and pathetic. It's a policy of pearl clutching hypersensitivity befitting a forum more along the lines of TwoX.

And the same goes for the "tits or gtfo" kids. Unless a female poster is clearly trying to use her gender as a pussy pass, jumping on her for mentioning that she's a woman is asinine.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It all depends, parts of trp and redpill women are aligned others are at opposite ends it really depends on the user.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

They're fine, they're pretty much traditionalists I guess.

I am a traditionalist too, but I'm skeptical of most RP theories so I prefer to stay away.

Also, at least their sub doesn't seem hateful like TheRedPill.

[–]StellaSteele2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting :) How do you consider yourself a traditionalist? And how do your views of traditionalism differ from RP theories?

Genuinely curious.

Just wait until you see someone post something asking for actual help. They tend to hate on anyone who isn't them and isn't perfect, unless that person is a man.

We delete all posts by men out of hand and you never see the hilarious rude things we say to them Lol

We give tough love to women, no validation, no venting and no hand holding. Women who can take it are welcome to click the X

[–]thechairinfront8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

We give tough love to women

No you don't. You give snide comments and belittlement to them. Anyone looking for help and or advice is met with an onslaught of browsing through their history and taking shit out of context just to demean them. You and tempest are the worst offenders of all. Why do you think that your sub hasn't grown? You actively drive people away.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

We want to drive certain types of people away. We aren't proselytizing, we are looking for like minded women

[–]thechairinfront0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

we are looking for like minded women

That's just it though, you're driving like minded women away as well as everyone else. There was just recently a post on TBP about how ya'll were such mean spirited butt faces that a women who was a RPW was driven away by your awful behavior. You're just looking for an excuse to be mean and demean other women because you're a horrible bully.

[–]Katniss_GrangerNo pill8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think the tough love comment is somewhat more on the mark (but I suppose I'm heavily biased.) To a new comer, yes it does often sound harsh and snide but a big point of RPW, I feel, is that women have spent their whole lives being coddled, being told it's okay, everything will be fine, you should do what you want etc etc etc.

Our point is no - it's not okay and if you want change you need to look at yourself in the cold hard light of day, validation doesn't help you change it helps justify what you've been doing, making you more likely continue it or at least less likely to make amends because "hey, don't worry, it wasn't actually that bad." If the people you look to for advice are clearly against something then you're less likely to do it because you've been shown how bad it is.

I think it's topic dependent, I wont lie some comments could stand to be a little softer but after spending time there you come across many posts where there's nothing but kindness and support and it's wonderful because it's real it's not a bunch of women playing the "you go girl!" game it's honest to god approval from people we aspire to be like.

[–]TheGreasyHoleRed Pill Woman2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I also feel like RPW do themselves a disservice with how harsh they are on new members. This is the exact reason I have never posted or commented on their site. They are far harsher in their modding than MRP or TRP. With MRP or TRP the mods will give newbies a couple of chances to correct/change/ take advice on board. RPW just delete.

If they just altered their mind set a little and were a little more lenient with newbies they would have a lot more women on board. I know their aim is not to change society, but when a women comes on genuinely asking for help, admitting that they are not fully red pill yet but are willing to listen and their posts still get deleted? Sucks.

And the killer is I really feel the pre-req reading is pretty basic (cos there really isn't much info on sexual strategy for girls). So women read the sidebar, still have questions but because they are not fully RP yet they get no help and posts deleted. TRP holds men's hands through the unplugging process. RPW certainly doesn't.

It is interesting to me that they are against bitchiness and unpleasantness towards men, moan about other women being bitchy towards men and yet do not seem to care that they are that way towards other women.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women are harpies who hate each other? Color me surprised. Just look at every female friendship ever. THAT is why RP is successful and no one gives a shit about RPW because women can't work together for shit.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They tend to hate on anyone who isn't them and isn't perfect, unless that person is a man.

Sounds about right, i'd ask why women would be coming for advice.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago* (22 children) | Copy Link

i don't agree with the way they look down on women that don't choose the same lifestyle, or turn 'accepting that you're flawed and capable of mistakes' to 'everything that goes wrong is your fault, always.' i think that's where it turns from being a group of women who appreciate traditional lifestyles to something more toxic and harmful.

among other things, it's disturbing that women with unfaithful husbands are encouraged to do everything they can to win them back, while simultaneously being blamed for their husband's actions. the disgust towards women who place high importance on education and careers, as well as the silencing of a woman's opinions, needs, and boundaries in relationships, is pretty terrible too.

i don't mind people who choose more traditional lifestyles or relationships, but it's pretty dishonest for RPW to claim, innocently, that that's all they're about. as with TRP (and many other subs on reddit), there are some truly vile members and ideas there.

[–]amandalovesthesmiths10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Could you link to examples of them encouraging women to stay with cheating husbands and blaming them for the husband's action, and also them being disgusted w/ women w/ educations and careers? It's my understanding that a lot of the mods and top contributors are college educated and have careers themselves, while being married or in a committed relationship. Does that mean they hate themselves? lol. I'm not a RPW at all btw, I don't even care about marriage, but I lurk there heavily and I've never seen anything in your middle paragraph happen at all. They believe in finding a man that has your best interests at heart, so presumably if a man was never taking your needs and opinions into consideration, they'd say you picked the wrong captain & he's a bad leader.

But maybe I missed some bad posts, so examples would be great! :)

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

they aren't hard to miss, especially if they are posted or linked elsewhere since there are snapshot bots, and unfavorable comments and situations are often deleted at RPW so you need those to actually see what was erased. here's a couple examples of the more unfavorable things that get posted there, though:

nevermind, the formatting doesn't seem to be working on my iPad and i had an exhausting day, so i don't really have any more energy that i'm willing to spend seeking out sad and disappointing things :/ sorry. you can find a decent amount just searching 'RPW' in /r/thebluepill though.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

That's a cop out not to mention you suggest going to a satire sub that cherry picks examples instead of the actual sub...

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

do you remember the link and location of every bothersome thing you've seen on the Internet? no? okay then. i gave an example of where to find posts similar to what i was talking about. the cherry-picking accusation gets thrown around a lot, but honestly, the frequency at which absurd things are linked at TBP (often originally posted by mods and endorsed contributors of the subs) essentially makes that accusation invalid, so go try that with someone else.

No, but i'm not the one making accusations, then excuses when asked to provide proof.

Instead of suggesting the sub itself you suggested an enemy sub, you may as well tell people that srs is the place to learn about mens rights.

Because it's true.

but honestly, the frequency at which absurd things are linked at TBP (often originally posted by mods and endorsed contributors of the subs) essentially makes that accusation invalid, so go try that with someone else.

I'd point out the fact that many of the bp mods/contributors have trp alt accounts, which really makes you accusation invalid.

the content linked still comes directly from RPW, so it doesn't really matter what subs link to it if the original post/comment is terrible. it's still just as bad on its own, regardless of who calls it out. my original comment was an opinion and not a debate stance so i don't have to prove shit, but there are a good number of posts linked at TBP that highlight exactly what i don't like about RPW, which is, in essence, what was requested. if i feel motivated later i might try tracking down more specific examples, but for now the one(s) i already provided will suffice. it's disappointingly easy to find toxic content in RPW.

Just to clarify, RPW don't care if other women don't agree with our philosophies. We don't look down on people for disagreeing with us. We know our lifestyle isn't for everyone.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

except these women didn't even have to disagree with RPW to earn insults from them; they just lived their lives differently, and that alone was enough. some of the comments in that thread are within reason, but then the rest of them are just RPW essentially talking about how much they hate non-RPW women. it's mean-girls stuff like this that's one of the major turn-offs about the sub/ideology, to me.

[–]tintedlipbalmfemale-to-tamale woman5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

That's a big leap from "look down on women that don't choose the same lifestyle" to criticizing general unpleasant behavior. In that thread no one is saying "Gosh, these women aren't submissive to their captains, how dare they", they're mostly regarding women gratuitously badmouthing their SOs to their coworkers, a trait everyone can agree is annoying.

You can dislike anything you want. But if you come to a debate sub expect to have your assertions refuted by the people you're talking about, lol.

my opinion isn't up for debate, as this is not a debate thread, lol (despite red pillers desperately trying to turn it into one whenever they're criticized).

When ever I see someone with 0 or less of a score to their vote count on their comment, I always upvote(so they don't get that dumb "can't post for 10 minutes" thing), but you are making this hard. Why are you even here? It seems like you aren't able to handle debating and this is a debate subreddit.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like TRP for normal people

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think RPW is fine for women who want to live in a captain/first mate relationship with men who also want that. Their aim seems to be to increase love and commitment in the relationship, as far as I can tell. So all good. I'm seeing a lot of conflict between the RPW desire to be married and the decisions of red pill men not wanting to marry (because of the risk of 'divorce rape').

What I don't like:

  • if a man isn't being a good enough 'captain' it's a problem and I've seen advice from the women there to leave him if he can't shape up.

  • terms such as slut and 'bastard children' used freely.

  • women thinking they need a man to steer them because of their emotions. I see a lot of women describing their emotions as hysteria. There is a lot about PMS in there. Not all women suffer PMS - it's to do with the balance of hormones (I think it's meant to be caused by low progesterone).

  • women thinking their value is depreciating while their man's value is appreciating. It's a sad way to think. We're not "goods". And although the red pill keeps trying to hammer this opinion in, I still can't understand the validity of it.

  • Other stuff I can't remember right now.

Makes sense.

terms such as slut and 'bastard children' used freely.

Oh noes! harsh language hurts your feels!

women thinking they need a man to steer them because of their emotions. I see a lot of women describing their emotions as hysteria. There is a lot about PMS in there.

They see a problem and are working on it, how is this bad?

Not all women suffer PMS - it's to do with the balance of hormones (I think it's meant to be caused by low progesterone).

Your point?

women thinking their value is depreciating while their man's value is appreciating. It's a sad way to think.

It's true though, men are visual, women like visual but also value other traits, looks fade but you can work on your value in other ways, the problem is men don't find those other ways to be as good as attraction.

We're not "goods".

No but we do have value.

And although the red pill keeps trying to hammer this opinion in, I still can't understand the validity of it.

Not can't, won't, all of the above is pretty much you having a hard time that other people are conforming to your pre-set notions.

[–]AzzmoRed5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just wanted to say that, though the people you're trying to debate in this thread aren't stepping up to the plate, I appreciated the counterpoints you've made throughout.

I imagine it's not very satisfying getting non-answers, but objective readers are going to get some things to think about. There's contrast between the feely feels stuff with no logical basis and your reality-based points.

[–]theskepticalidealist0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

RPW are full on traditionalist. They want the traditional male role of protector and provider. They can see men have far less incentive to be this way these days so they talk about how to create that incentive. While I am anti-traditionalist and a lot of what I've seen them say is insane, in a way I can give them some credit because at least they know what they want and they at least aren't demanding men do things for them without giving them something in return. I still find it inherently exploitative, using sex as a form of emotional currency. But at least they are a bit more self aware in this way than the majority of people seem to be these days.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

[–]theskepticalidealist5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Wat? How was I said inaccurate? They want a traditionalist man for a traditionalist role and they talk about how to reward him for being like that, much of which involves sex. When i checked it out before and read a lot of what they were saying that is how it was, unless it has changed dramatically.

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They are changing, trying to make a new women gender role.

[–]theskepticalidealist1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well that would be new then, last I checked they were just traditionalists on steroids. With the behaviors being suggested (like cooking, cleaning and providing lots of sex) just being incentives rather than because they wanted to actually do it. Presuming that is still the case I find it a bit sad that the best "new female role" they could think of is just exactly the same as the old one. The only difference is they want to make it a little more of a sweeter deal for men so they actually stick around and be the traditionally masculine men that they want them to be.

[–]buarthaDelights in homosexuality0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I prefer it to RPPrime generally.

I'm aware it subscribes to the same philosophy as TRP, but since that philosophy encourages the women reading it to be thoughtful and respectful of their partners for the best results, and men to be less concerned with the impact their actions have on the women they're seeing, as someone who prefers the former set of behaviours RPW is going to seem like a nicer place to me.

If you're not poly, it is. Of course, it also means to be realistic and get a hold on yourself if the guy you finally manage to lock down doesn't check 100%, but only 90% of your boxes.

[–]StellaSteele0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Hmmm...do you think Alphas can be poly?

feck. I can't even find a friend who checks 90% of my boxes (and I'm selective about who I surround myself with), let alone a partner. It's mathematically impossible to be perfect - in fact, when getting to know new friends and partners, I always ask the same question: what is your worst quality. IMO, if a person is unaware of their flaws, they don't know who they really are.

Anyway, the poly community is pretty awesome, not perfect of course, but open and exciting. I would love to see one of you RPers at a poly group sex/orgy event, and then see if you change some of your views on the scarcity of sexuality.

Of what I want from a fella?

Well, attractiveness is relative, really. I've been with both conventionally attractive and unattractive men. I'm mean, hygiene is important, but mostly I'm attracted to a man with an interesting sense of style/aesthetic.

Next, authenticity. I'm a little fucking sleuth when it comes to this trait.

Passion: Someone who understands what 10 000 hours means.

Open mindedness/Empathy/Compassion: I think people don't understand how hard it can be to choose to be kind.

Superficially, I like readers - a lot. But I barely meet them.

[–]StellaSteele0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I see. So, what do you consider to be the RPW philosophy or common ground?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We agree with trp's understanding of male and female nature, we seek to use it to both understand ourselves and our foibles and to take male wants, needs, desires and nature(from the male perspective, not as imagined or made up by women) into account to have lifelong marriages/ltrs

How would I meant a women. Depends if I see her dressing like someone I would like to date. I might just walk up to her. I might be her at college or a random public place. Not at a bar, that is only for plates.

[–]StellaSteele0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You totally did!

So, by "dressing like someone I would date," I am assuming you mean an aesthetic attraction...? Personally, I know that I when I meet a man , it is usually his style I am initially attracted to...says a lot about a person. What kind of aesthetic do you prefer...?

Nice call on the bars, btw- that's where I used to meet my plates too ;) Now, I prefer poly communities - saves a lot of hassle.

Red Pill has one main idea. That society has lied to them, this is what Red Pill is founded under. After that is branches off, it would take forever trying to tell you all kinds of Red Pill's.

Now Feminist is different. They are founded on so many main idea's that when they start branches off it's not a lot to branch off to unless you go back in time.

Oh man...

I'm about to clear some grifts so I'm just gonna drop this here but:

What is the problem? (Neutral phrasing: use words like "we," and "our" so that you aren't trying to off-load problems at your SO's feet when there's actually plenty of blame to go around) What are your faults? How have you contributed to the creation of these issues? Why do you think this (these) problem(s) manifested? What steps have you already taken to try and resolve the problem? How long has this been an issue? Are you making a mountain out of a mole-hill? If a woman you really despised came to you with this issue, would you still think it's a legitimate concern? Or would you tell her she's throwing things out of proportion? How's your bedroom life right now? Are you taking care of his needs emotionally and physically?

LOOK AT THIS FUCKIN LIST. Like, seriously. How can you have that on your sidebar and not say "yep, we're fucked in the head."? It's literally a list of questions obviously designed to turn all relationship problems into the poster's fault.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More people should do this IMO. It's easy to blame other people for your problems. Much more difficult to ask whether and how you contributed to the problem.

[–]lisfb8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

...or it's a list of questions designed to help those reading understand the problem the OP is having and what paths OP/OP's SO have taken to solve the problem? I think it's difficult to give feedback to someone if they've only posted two paragraphs of rambling, nebulous complaints under a throwaway account.

I honestly don't see a problem with this list; I really like it, actually - what about it, is throwing you off?

[–]Level100ProtWarrior -3 points-3 points-3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Bolded are the wtf sections. The language used here deliberately and intentionally diminishes the fault of anyone except the woman posting it. It automatically assumes all of the blame is on the woman, rather than asking neutral questions and letting the blame (if any) get assigned during discussion. The questions essentially boil down to "Lady, how have you fucked this up?"

[–]lisfb11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, yeah. The sub has never made it a secret that a large part of their focus is on self accountability and being able to see and acknowledge what part a person, the poster, has played in the development of her relationship's problems.

I take issue, at times, with how responses are given, but the questionnaire itself is not 'wtf' worthy to me. I feel the questions help show the OP is able to maintain some level of objectivity in her post about both her actions as well as her significant other. The way I see it, if OP can figure out what's going on from her side, she knows what to focus on to fix or modify and help the relationship get back on track - and if the situation doesn't change or get resolved, at least she knows, if she decides to walk, she honestly tried to do what she could.

edit:

"It automatically assumes all of the blame is on the woman, rather than asking neutral questions and letting the blame (if any) get assigned during discussion. "

Ever been in a situation where you've completely butted heads with a friend and neither of you are budging? The first person to apologize - or at least say, "look, we don't see eye to eye on this, but for the sake of our friendship, let's agree to disagree" - offers an olive branch which, if the friend (or SO) accepts, helps to alleviate tension. From there, the two are able to, most likely (hopefully), work out the issue/find a solution/agree to some sort of compromise.

It's not always fair or right to be the one who has to do it first, but I see this more as one person (the OPs of such threads since they're the one who posted about it, looking for advice on how to handle a problem) trying to swallow their pride enough to "be the bigger person" so things can be set right again.

[–]Katniss_GrangerNo pill7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because when women moan about their relationships

  • there often is plenty of blame to go round

  • the woman will always have faults, as will the man

  • It very often is a mountain out of a molehill as are a lot of issues people complain about

  • They're not taking care of his needs leading to dissatisfaction and then they complain that he's not taking care of her needs, leading to her dissatisfaction.

if none of the above are true then there's probably a real issue that she needs help with. We don't think that men can't be the cause of issues in a relationship, of course they can but we also know that women have tendencies to do all of the above.

Do you have an issue with taking responsibility for your own faults? Because that's all this is about, a huge amount of problems could be solved if we figured out were we could improve rather than sticking everything on him and calling ourselves a victim.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There are multiple sides to every story. Most places assume that the OP is being truthful and giving relevant information, more often than not - we find that OPs either intentionally or unintentionally hide facts that are not only relevant, but very important (as far as understanding how the issue or issues escalated to such a degree that they became full-blown problems. We also only focus on things we can control - mainly, our own thoughts, behaviors, actions, words etc. It does no good to say "this other person did all these things" because you can't change other people, you can only change yourself. If someone believes they've done nothing wrong, and that they have no reason to change any of their behaviors/tendencies/etc - then there's no advice to give them other than "that sucks" and "leave."

It's important to note that the other person is also never around to explain, clarify, or talk - so focusing on what a different person should or shouldn't be doing is useless. Relevant, actionable advice that the OP can follow through on (that doesn't focus solely on "sit down and talk") is more useful. People can talk until they're blue in the face, but if the only 'valid' solutions involve getting someone else to do things, then success and failure depends solely on your ability to either convince, or pester someone else into action. We focus on what we can control and change - which is why there's such a great deal of emphasis on the "what has my role in this been?"

I don't think it's wrong, evil, or unhealthy to ask "what role have I played in this? Am I assessing the situation in a neutral manner - or are my emotions coloring my ability to see things clearly?" Nor do I think the guidelines boil down to 'victim blaming' (I'm not suggesting that's what you were doing with your comment - I've just seen that connection made too often by non-RPW users, and I'm preemptively bringing it up). There have been several threads where, after digging more into the OP's history/situation, it came to light that they were in a really bad situation. I personally have come down hard on OP's in situations like that, called them out for trying to overlook a clearly unhealthy situation, and urged them to leave/get away/move on etc.

If people want to resolve/improve their situation, the easiest, most practical, and useful place to start is with themselves.

I can't even comprehend thinking the way you do. There's nothing approaching even an inkling of an insult in that list and yet you've seen fit to feel outraged.

How can you look at a list designed for self improvement and think the list's intent is to find fault? Why did you default to finding fault? Why the fuck is there even a need to find fault? Can't people just try to improve themselves without being called victims?

They seem like closet BDSM sub females. Because they are closeted they can't admit they are submissive, that's for freaks. The rest of the world has it wrong. Like red pill, "its a just a choice but everyone ought to do it our way."

I think it's sexual segregation that women are forced to have their own subreddit to talk about the same topic because they're not allowed (read: welcome) in TRP.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a completely different topic. We talk about how to be successful men and what they talk about is how to be successful women.

[–]IramohsRed Pill Man2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

It's entirely focused on different things. In TRP we discuss abundance mentality, spinning plates, how to be a more successful man.etc. In RedPillWomen they discuss how to avoid becoming a plate and lock down a man who will provide them with the stability and support they crave. They attempt to improve their SMV through not giving away sex for free and increasing their feminity so high SMV males will want to date them. You might want to actually learn about these things before you spew your bias.

[–]ERockEfreedom0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

So you discuss spinning "plates" and they discuss how to avoid becoming a "plate". Why do the two subreddits even share a name?

I'm mostly just bothered by the fact that TRP is so against women posting in it. "Tits or GTFO"

What could they add I ask? one of the main points of trp is women give terrible shitty advice.

Tbh any time I have seen women in trp they've been trolls or complainers not adding anything.

Plus it's a male space, it's be like a woman going into a male team locker and demanding to be made a part of it.

[–]hippydipster0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Plus it's a male space

Well actually it's a webpage. I have to explain this to people in twoX as well.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Well actually it's a webpage.

It's both.

[–]hippydipster0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

With anonymous posters. Let's get real.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I know but it's supposed to be a male space.

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women can post in the comments freely, as long as it doesn't look like she is seeking attention. Posting a post about yourself liking TRP just makes them think you are seeking attention.

[–]hippydipster0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What it's supposed to be in your mind and what it actually is don't match up well.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yes, and? women invade male spaces, this is not news to me.

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do the two subreddits even share a name?

Because they share the same paradigm of human sexual dynamics?

Everyone has a paradigm they operate within for navigating human sexual dynamics. "Red Pillers" are no different.

Within whatever paradigm of sexual dynamics you operate, women and men will want to achieve their sexual goals, so will therefore develop strategies that maximize their success at achieving those goals. And it just so happens that, usually, those goals are a bit different for each gender, so their "optimal strategies" will be different as well.

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

RedPill Women is the ideal women for a RedPill man.

[–]ERockEfreedom1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Yeah so why don't you let them participate in TRP. That would make sense.

[–]DaThrowaway808<('.'<) (>'.')>2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Women are allowed to post in TRP as long as they don't try to point out they are a woman. RPW now has a similar policy.

[–]ERockEfreedom-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It's not about being allowed. It's that if they point out they are a woman, they will be sexually objectified.

[–]DaThrowaway808<('.'<) (>'.')>1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, if someone has to point out they're a woman, then they're probably giving bad advice.

[–]ERockEfreedom1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No they're doing it so you can know their perspective.

[–]DaThrowaway808<('.'<) (>'.')>1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

They don't want it.

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They are redpill... Technically they are. Anyway, most of them choose not to because a women is not supposed to ask a guy for advice, vice versa.

[–]thechairinfront2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought their rule was Men are not supposed to ask advice from women because they'll give men bad advice and women are not supposed to ask advice from women because women give bad advice.

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's kinda both.

[–]theskepticalidealist1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

It isn't segregation because its really completely different from TRP. Seriously. You only have to read the two with comprehension to see that.

[–]ERockEfreedom1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (30 children) | Copy Link

It's segregation because they kick women interested in the topic out of TRP. And then yes, TRPWomen is not like it, so they have nowhere to actually go.

[–]theskepticalidealist3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

I don't post to TRP, do they actually have a rule that says women can't post? I can imagine they might not want women coming in and arguing with them, but that's not the same thing. I'm not too sure what use a woman could have in TRP as a sub reddit anyway. At least you see RPW isn't the same thing as TRP though, I was actually surprised how nuts so much of what they say is.

[–]ERockEfreedom0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Worse than rules; it's just the attitude there.

Oh my! TRPers have a bad attitude? No kidding? Get out! Call the tone police ASAP… /s

[–]ERockEfreedom-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

I didn't mean attitude like tone. I mean the attitude of TRP and the people in it is one of sexism that literally demands women leave.

[–]MagicGainbowKeepin' it real, havin' a feel2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Proof?

So far you've demonstrated that you know fuck all about either subs besides a quick glance.

Also this; http://i.imgur.com/NArL0KH.png

[–]ERockEfreedom0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

That's incredibly sexist and misogynistic. And if you treat women like that or think of women like that, then you are a horrible human being and you will do badly with women.

You should treat women like that, like they're regular people, not some fuck-thing, all the time, in the real world and on the internet. It's hard (no pun intended) because of our penises, but if you really make an effort to do that, your social life will be better and women will like you more.

That's incredibly sexist and misogynistic. And if you treat women like that or think of women like that, then you are a horrible human being and you will do badly with women.

Its the opposite when you think about it, women are not being given special treatment for having tits.

You should treat women like that, like they're regular people, not some fuck-thing, all the time,

Not even if they ask nicely?

in the real world and on the internet. It's hard (no pun intended) because of our penises,

What is? How does having a penis make it difficult to treat women well? (now who's being sexist hmmm?)

but if you really make an effort to do that,

I don't.

your social life will be better and women will like you more.

My own experiences tell me the opposite, i've been called a sexist/chauvinist/misogynist jerk....has stopped me in the slightest and in fact i'd argue it helps, i'm known as a guy that isn't a white knight bitch boy, often I know i'm getting laid that night when they turn and say in that faux-annoyed voice ''Gawd you're suuch an asshole magicgainbow! giggles.''

You sound like my mother, she kept saying the same things until I literally showed her that me not acting like a nice guy is what's getting me attention...she has yet to bring it up again.

[–]theskepticalidealist0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

Actually what was written seems to be the compete opposite of what you just wrote. Are you sure you are reading the same thing?

[–]DanieltckHuggable Red Pill Man[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. Anyway, most of them choose not to because a women is not supposed to ask a guy for advice, vice versa.

[–]nomdplumeFormer Alpha0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It's segregation because they kick women interested in the topic out of TRP.

Why would women truly be interested in discussing male sexual perspectives/strategies? They have nothing to actually gain from it other than satisfying some intellectual curiosity.

It would be like someone who is a committed pacifist being interested in a joining a committed militant group. What on earth could they contribute?

[–]ERockEfreedom0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

What about a woman just giving some quick praise?

All boys clubs are sexist. What's your point?

EDIT: She's also not just giving praise. She's also advocating her own position, which is that "Not all of us women are the same though." That's freaking concern trolling, something which is frowned upon by TRP no matter who posts it. So they are holding her to the same standards they hold themselves. What's sexist about that?

It appears as though she was the first person to bring up the subject of her sex and make it an important part of her post.

Are we seeing a different chain of comments?

Yes, she did.
