So we've been dating for a year now. Everything going well. We see each other on weekends. Different cities, I have the kids and work full-time, she works full-time. She was recently introduced to the kids and they, surprisingly, adopted her into the family immediately and love her to death. My daughter finally has a girly-girl to do things with, and my youngest boy has a huge crush on her (he's 3). It's adorable. But I digress.

She wrote me a spontaneous email the other day that my old self would feel nothing but positive over. The new me sees that she is saying I am "stable, hard-working, sweet, level-headed, and strong"... but nothing says "exciting" or "sexy".

A few things she mentions:

I maintain the house with no complaints
I work very hard and never complain about my job
I'm awesome with my kids... and never complain about my time with them.
I do all of these things, but still have time for working out, being with her, and driving kids to sports on the weekends. All with a positive attitude.

Great, right? Notice the lack of complaining? That stuck out at me. Chicks sure hate a whining man. What I don't see is spontaneity. Excitement. Sexiness.

I need to kick it up a notch. Don't want to slip into my old comfortable ways. I know that there are younger, more energetic versions of me out there. If I lose her over something like that... then it's her loss.. but it still illustrates some crucial components of being a fully "integrated" and complete man that I am lacking.

Nobody likes a dullard.
