I know what evolution is from University...however, it seems Red Pill has a different perspective.

From my understanding evolution has no direction or purpose. It does not act on individuals but populations. Also, evolution is not stagnant.

Furthermore, if you hold the belief that Red Pill is founded on evolutionary principles, why is it that you think the same traits that were selected in our prehistoric times (men = strength & provider and women = chastity & child caregiver) would still be selected now?

During our prehistoric times, this made sense...men were hunters because you needed that strength and build, while women were gatherers because it also allowed them to take care of their children...but nowadays, jobs are less stratified in terms of required 'physical strength.'

During our prehistoric times, chastity was paramount of importance because women couldn't control when/who they had children with. In addition, chastity ensured that the children you had with her, were yours (or so you hoped). But now with technology, we can determine paternity during pregnancy and women can use birth control to family plan.

Interestingly enough, a recent study (2014) found that even facial symmetry does not indicate better health in present day. However, in the past, facial symmetry probably did indicate health which was why it was selected for.

In reality these are all 'vestigial' traits. They once served a purpose but no longer do. (Yes I know vestigial is for body parts, but it's body parts we still have but are considered 'useless').

TRP, TBP and TPP please explain what you think evolution is.

If you could use Natural Selection also in your explanation, that would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think is being selected for? Keep in mind, survival of the fittest is actually fitness, which is reproductive fitness.

EDIT:

A question posed down below:

"From what I see, traditional western women would like to have more babies than their husbands do. Husbands are usually the ones saying, 'no more kids' and limiting the children to two.

I do understand economic restraints etc. But the urge for western men to put more children out into the world and 'spread the seed' doesn't seem to be there, even when they could easily afford more kids.

Please don't respond with cries of divorce-rape or 'down with feminists'. I see this scenario all the time with happy couples. Men seem happy with two children and no more than that."
