We're going to need definitions here, SJW means different things to different people (I would imagine). Here is one I like:

an individual who repeatedly and vehemently engages in arguments on social justice on the Internet, often in a shallow or not well-thought-out way, for the purpose of raising their own personal reputation

Its self-serving and they use real problems (either their own or others') to stroke their ego. I picture them like this. Common descriptions of them include histrionic, drama queens, obnoxious, etc.

TBP is a self-proclaimed circlejerk that specifically picks through another sub that couldn't care less about them to feign outrage, under the guise of it being entertainment. I don't see how TBP can't be considered a SJW sub. I think the "Reddit drill", or whatever it is, pretty much confirmed it. TBP is a clique, to them some opinions are right and the others are evil.

SJW is just a minor insult like "libtard" or "conservatard". If all it meant was simply "someone who fights for social justice" then the term could apply to anyone with any ideological leanings. That is a common bp defense against SJW namecalling.

Such terms always come with context, and you can't just take the name for granted. "Neo-conservative" by name alone sounds like it would just describe a new kind of conservative. "Neo-liberal" by name alone sounds like it would just describe a new kind of liberal.

SJW is used as a derogatory term for whinier liberals, not just "anyone who fights for social justice". Bpers should just stick to criticizing it as namecalling, rather that claiming that SJW can be applied to all ideologues equally.

I never hear any protests. Am I right to label TBP SJWs? Am I wrong? Kinda right? What's the real deal, denizens?

Bpers are generally put themselves under the banner of egalitarian liberalism (American liberalism). Not all of them are SJWs because not all of them are obnoxious or whiny, and thus the derogatory term doesn't universally apply to them. There's a higher concentration of SJWs among them in tbp, just as I'd assume there's a higher concentration of genuine misogynists in trp.

SJW's are reddit's boogeyman right now. People accuse each other of being SJW's kind of like Americans would accuse people of being communists during the cold war.

I guess the definition as it's used on reddit is a radical feminist who hates men and supports the wacky shit you'd see on /r/tumblrinaction (headmates, transethnic otherkin, die cis scum, etc.)

For some reason a lot of people seem to think they control the world and/or gaming industry through all sorts of evil conspiracies and brainwash people and shit. Really like all they do is complain on the internet just like everyone else here and people act like they're worse than Hitler.

Ted Kaczynski wrote the best description of leftists/SJW I have read in my entire life. You can read it here in his manifesto, titled Industrial Society and its Future. I had been skeptical of leftism for a while, but reading this was very formative for me.

Some choice quotes that particularly describe SJW's:

SJWs are spoiled, delusional brats with too much free time, basically. They were presumably bullied as children or some shit, and now they get to finally be the bullies on Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter, etc.

What sets them apart from normal internet trolls is that their shitty behavior aligns strongly with an extreme brand of the outrage and victimhood culture that we're quite familiar with in the West. The narrative is everything, and any facts that distract from the narrative are dismissed immediately. While some of those on the extreme left are naive with good intentions, this pack of dipshits are just hateful freaks who will dismiss anything a straight white man says because he is a straight white man. Everyone else is to be treated as a helpless victim.

TL;DR: They need to grow the fuck up.

There is a slow, insidious war being fought against the citizens of the west by the wealthy and their enterprises. These big players own our politicians and are taking rights away, taking tax funding away, consolidating control of resources, polluting, killing millions of people across the globe in phony wars and conflicts, and are slowly manipulating voting such that our votes no longer matter. We may be living in the waning days of Democracy.

Are the people aware of this? Maybe. But we're distracted by bullshit. Fixing our government and taking money out of politics should be a primary goal.

Instead we're scuffling over whose feelings are more important and whether or not inane things are offensive.

SJWs aren't trying to gain anything for anybody. They seek to remove things and censor. And they're a major distraction from the real issues. If they were at least using their numbers and organization responsibly - to gain something for society - I'd say they were forgivable. But they're not even trying to gain anything. Just destroy.

Fuck them for creating division and distraction but, just as importantly, fuck us for allowing ourselves to be distracted by them. They're trolls. We all need to group together and demand a fair and just future for everybody.

I support their cause but not their methods. I don't think all this emotional stuff, throwing fits, telling the internet in great detail how angry you are, and using a lot of expletives is a good way to approach it. It just makes you look like a child. Especially Shanley Kane, she is exactly like a 3 year old throwing tantrums. I don't think she can change Silicon Valley culture this way. Or if yes, that is even worse, because that would be a kind of an undeserved victory.

However I do think sexism, racism etc. needs to be made a thing of the past. Just by different means, largely showing good examples, and arguing rationally against oppressive falsehoods.

For one, I don't see what's wrong with social justice, unless they're everything must be completely politically correct, though I agree that generalizations are annoying as hell. Or, the sjw who completely ignores the other side of issue, there are feminists who are not "femanazis", and help make strides in equality for men and women, same with men's rights activists, but some are off the wall extremists.

The same as any social movement, they're fine when they're not extremists.

White privilege is sort of bull, with some truth, (at least summing it up that simply) because once you're in a certain class, you have "privileges", no matter what color or gender, but here's where research shows that white males have an easier time getting there. Just read academic journals on the subject, it's all there.

They are malicious people drawn to "social justice" because it gives them a way to feel superior to others and to meddle in other people's affairs.

Social Justice Warriorism is pretty much a religion; it has its roots in the religion of Judaism. Judaism has a concept called "tikkum olam." This means that a Jew - chosen by God - must "fix" the non-Jews, who are "broken" by their status of not being Jewish. "Tikkum Olam" means to "fix a torn world" - the world torn like a piece of clothing can be torn.

Of course, this is fanatically self-righteous and obnoxious, and even worse when secular Jews who don't take the religion serious secularize the concept - now the world is not torn "spiritually" but "socially" - the Chosen Social Justice Warrior must "fix" the unenlightened who are "racist," "sexist," "homophobic," "xenophobic," "xenophobic," "transphobic," "anti-semitic," etc.

I think Social Justice Warriors would be better off minding their own business and changing themselves.

To me, what marks someone as an SJW (as opposed to a more or less normal person who just leans left) is that they take disagreement with their beliefs very personally. Even if there is no personal attacks from someone who disagrees with them, and the other person is presenting his side calmly and rationally, the SJW will become outraged and act as if he (or she, I guess, though I rarely see women say anything back to these kinds of people) just slapped their mother or something. They will have no compunctions throwing out completely unnecessary insults, telling you that you're a terrible person, etc., just for disagreeing with them about something.

Definitely not...TBP just disapproves of TRP. If we're defining SJWs as self-righteous, self-interested and self-victimizing people who co-opt social movements to get attention (see: "I now identify as demiboi with a side order of genderbinky!") then no.

TBP can be a little idealistic and ignorant at times (depending on the person) but the same is true of many people on TRP. I tend to agree/disagree with both at equal rates. If you want real SJW material, just go to Tumblr In Action.

Depends exactly what kind of social justice warrior we're talking about. You could call TRP social justice warriors because it's a community bringing truth to a group that self identifies as oppressed by the female gender.

I respect social justice warriors actually standing up for something in a world of losers who stand for nothing and the intellectually lazy who snicker and snipe at ideas and concepts they know nothing about. That doesn't mean I agree with what they're "warrior'ing" for.

I believe in standing up for social justice whenever appropriate or necessary. I get labelled a social justice warrior a lot, but only by people who I (even before they used this label) already had pegged as contemptably self-interested cunts.

In practice, SJW is just a slur people with offensive views use to dismiss complaints against them without having to actually engage with the arguments deployed. Its a particulalry egregious and ironic ad-hom ("Your claim that this is injust is suspect because you are just one of those people who campaigns against injustice!")
