I see this a lot working on the OB/GYN unit: men who refuse to wear condoms or get a vasectomy and repeatedly impregnate their wives, only for the wives to undergo abortions or complicated births or traumatic miscarriages. Yes, women can get an IUD placed or be on BCPs (which some women can't be on for various reasons), but why does the burden always have to fall on the women? Are men not at all held responsible for the damage they cause?
Also what I've learned is a vasectomy is safer compared to tubal ligation AND is reversible, yet so many men refuse to fucking get it done, even if they're told it would help out their partner immensely.
We absolutely do need to unionize because a lot of this is considered normal.

I read a sad post on a different sub. A woman was going in for an abortion and got like three ibuprofen in the waiting room hours before the procedure. She felt everything. She was physically and emotionally wrecked for a long time afterwards and told her husband it was never happening again, so he went to get snipped. He got Percocet, the snip was less than 15 minutes, he did not have to recover in any way, and didn’t even use an ice pack.
Fuck men and their selfishness for putting the burden of birth control entirely on women. Paying for, scheduling, dealing with the constant and sometimes horrible side effects every day just so that a precious little willy doesn’t have to get touched by a scary doctor man or get wrapped in a thin piece of plastic for two minutes.

I am in this situation right now, without her throwing away our friendship. I comforted her during her breakup with a LVM, he was trash, I reaffirmed that she was making the right choice, was checking in with her every other day. Lo and behold, she's back with him now.

When I was with this crappy dude. When I got over him and told my friend "yeah he was kinda toxic" she was "I know. He seemed really off."
I was soo pissed she didn't tell me! Sometimes you just are stupid and blind by hormones and emotions and don't see as easily through the bullshit that someone is getting that way.
