How do women that turn bitter about dating react?

The girls I know who became bitter tend to be the ones who had one big relationship disaster. Women who were abandoned while they were heavily pregnant, women who were beaten, who were cheated on a lot, etc. These are the ones who make a big show of shit talking men and avoiding connection.

I haven't really seen women become bitter over being slutty or having a string of somewhat unremarkable failed relationships.

I didn't become "slutty" (i.e. have ONSs, FWBs) until after one failed marriage (4 years) and a failed long term relationship (9 years) and then I did become scared of being attached. That's one of the reasons why I opted for ONSs and FWBs. That and I wanted my kid to move out before dating anyone seriously. I didn't cheat or use men for money, though.

I think it's kind of interesting, just as a kind of weird way of going about this, to analyze the lyrics of various female pop stars (Take, say, Taylor Swift) - from the bright-eyed optimistic stuff they did in their early 20s to the more jaded and sexualized to the downright shrill and bitter - to epiphany-phase appeasement.

It would indicate that them being in failed relationships with men they really cared about makes them jaded, somehow less able to ever care quite in the same way as before, and a lot more cynical and distrustful - which makes sense, granted, given what they've gone through. Eventually many of them mellow out, sometimes out of desperation (and then it's a thin veneer), or sometimes they actually get over that shit to some extent.

But then again, that's coming from a weird angle maybe.

Sounds spot on. You don’t have to be slutty to get that way though. You just need one very bad relationship that tarnishes your view on love, sex and dating.

I’m probably on the more bitter end of town and I react by completely removing myself from the dating scene and indulging in my own personal fantasies like becoming a musician.

Also my vibrator gets me off more than a man ever has and it has 0% risk of killing me unlike men so I’m quite happy.

And there are plenty of girls that get dumped/dumped on repeatedly and still look for love.

FDS is just smart move given their circumstances. I applaud them.
