I've known people with low n counts that have cheated in every relationship they are with. And I've known sluts that are fiercely loyal to a relationship when they get in one. I think previous relationship history is a far better barometer for potential cheating than their success at casual sex.

when im single i act single, when im taken im taken. i have never dated 2 men concurrently or cheated on any man or broken up with one man for another man. i think relationship history is the cheating tell, not having ONS when youre single

Likelihood of cheating is most correlated with how much someone values commitment, honesty, and loyalty, which is likely correlated with how much casual sex a person has. However there are too many other variables that can also increase n count for n count to be directly correlated to likelihood of cheating.

I found this, for what it's worth.

In the context of the full model, ﬁve predictors [...] were signiﬁcant predictors.

Gender was a negative predictor (men cheat more often), satisfaction was negative, while number of sex partners, quality of alternatives and impulsivity were found as positive predictors.

So I would say the sparse science on this topic seems to imply some correlation.

There is a double causal effect in these variables, and some confounding variables.

By logic, people who have high propensity to cheat and/orcut relationship shorter, will inevitably have higher n counts because of these reasons in the long run, having higher comparable n count than the populaton.

There is also the causal effect of experience and the dunning krugger effect has in relationships and marketplace self evaluaion, Those who see themselves as experienced, will be more likely to think they can get something better in the market, and be more confident on doing so, instead of fixing what they have and without considering that the market may have changed (experienced people are not good with change).

Other variables may also make things more dificult, like, if you have some psychological problems it may lead to high n counts, not because of cheating but because many people will not want to have a psychologically unsound person as a long term partner, thus having a series of failed STRs. (everyone know at least one such woman)

I suspect you can have a high N count and not cheat given the opportunity, and have an N count of just 1 or 2 and cheat given the opportunity. Depends on the people and their relationships.

If the person is done with the ONStanding phase, he/she will remain loyal but if she/he still wants to "play the field" he/she will definitely cheat, it's a matter of when.

It's not about the N count but the attitude towards casual sex, if the person is done well, LTR is an option but if this person is still enjoying casual sex then LTR is the worst you can ask.

I think "it depends" as there will be too many variables.

IMO the one most likely to cheat would be a woman married young with a low n count who feels she never got to play the field.

I haven't seen any data on this, although there is a correlation on n count and probability of divorce - the higher the n count the higher the probability of divorce.

But I don't think much has been done on n count and cheating.

I don't think that it is a guarantee but I do think that it increases their chances depending on how high their N count is. I don't think N counts play a big part but I do think they play A part.

No. Even though I want to say yes, this isn't the case.

It depends on the persons personality, and quality of the relationship they're in.

If the girl is a virgin, and her partner doesn't take the time to satisfy her, she might want to look elsewhere. Because she wants to know if sex could be better. If she is however satisfied, and had a strong bond with her partner (enhanced by him being her first and only), then she has no reason to leave.

If the girl has a low N count, she might be less curious about sexual ventures. She already had some partners, and if the one she's currently with satisfies her, she won't have a reason to leave. If she knows her sex life could be better, than she might cheat/find someone else.

If the girl is high N count, the chances of her partner being her best, are very low. However, if he is, she won't have any reason to cheat. But, if he isn't, she might be reluctant to stay with him from the start. Because she already has plenty of sexual experience, and knows what she wants.

Notice I was just giving potential reasons for the woman leaving.

But it all comes down to personality. My gf has a low sex drive. So it isn't the most important part of our relationship.

However, at the start, she told me how to do everything right, and I reciprocated. This way, neither of us has a reason to leave because they are unsatisfied. So if one of us does, another factor was at play.

So no. N-count plays a role, but it isn't the core reason for someone cheating.

I’ve heard anecdotes of women cheating with an ex precisely because it doesn’t increase the N count. Is such a practice widespread? I don’t know; it’s only anecdotes from people I know, not my firsthand experience, and the sample size is small. But the ex already knows how to turn her on, what to say, how to satisfy her, and she’s already comfortable with him. And afterwards, she can still say (honestly) that her N count is low.

But unsure if it is a result or simply a characteristic of high n-counters....basically it also correlates with the 'sex is nothing special and just like taking a shit after a cup of coffee' belief. I have even heard one of our high n-counters in my social group claim that "it didn't mean anything, she didn't love or care about the guy like she did her BF, so why was the big deal...she was just horny, drunk and needed a quick dick".

But basically understand that you are asking this question to a hive of high n-counters desperately trying to redesign society, against it's natural aversion to sluts, to believe that high n-counts makes women a preferred partner for commitment.....

I would say so.

It already starts with cheating being most likely with former sexual partners, and the more you have of those, the more likely it is for you to have those opportunities.
The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. People with low N are overall less likely to have acquired at least one of those notches through cheating simply because there weren't too many partners to begin with (and someone with N=0 has by definition never cheated, at least not physically). Sure, it's possible that a woman with N=3 has been with one guy all her life but cheated on him with two others, but if you had to guess: who is more likely to have cheated at least once, someone with N=3 or someone with N=30?
People with a history of casual sex tend to be flighty, impulsive and easily bored - attributes that correlate with both straying as well as jumping into relationships that aren't stable.
People who see sex as something particularly intimate that is only to be had while in a relationship are pretty much by definition unable to cheat - they'd rather branch-swing immediately. People who see sex as something that's also to be had casually are also more likely to not see it as a big deal when in a relationship.
