When a guy asks for a second date, it's best not to agree until he tells you what the plan is. If he asks over text, I say "what do you have in mind?". In person, I vaguely say that next weekend might work, but don't give him a definite yes until he says what the plan is. It's easier that way cause I block if he mentions anything about watching a movie (unless in a theater) or suggests going to his house.

On that note: I don't think the "it was nice to meet you" was controversial or out of line if you blocked him immediately afterwards. You can be courteous without being generous, and it is clear that you were not doing that for validation or to lessen the blow for him. There's nothing wrong with being confidently polite while asserting yourself and setting proper boundaries (even when that boundary is a wall with a moat).

Next time, don't tell him it was nice to meet him and just block him as soon as he cancels. It obviously wasn't nice to meet him; he only wasted your time. We need to stop softening the blow of rejection.

We can correct and help each other in kinder ways. "Giving off shades of Pick me behaviour" also encompasses women unnecessarily being unkind to each other.

Good on you. I can't believe he actually tried pulling something like that. Also really effed me when you told him you wouldn't do a walk and wine date, he could just have taken you to a restaurant that night. As in him saying "oh I understand, I will take you some place insert reataurant" it really isn't that hard... and then rescheduling twice. Yikes. You did the right thing. Why are these men always playing games 🙄😒 any proper man if value doesn't spend his time trying to lowball women. It is insane how many of them pull shit like this.

Good riddance. I had something similar happen, I went on a nice first date with someone and the entire time he was mentioning how he will cook something for me on our second date. I'm thinking there is no way I'm going to this strangers house on our second date, he was really trying to sell it, asking me what ingredients he should buy, trying to convince me that he's a great cook when I pushed back, eventually I also did a block and delete.
