I think standards and anger are very useful when thinking about how society treats women and dating. But for me, it has been very cathartic and empowering just to express my deep sorrows at the root of it all. I'm not letting society gaslight me into pretending that we can just brush off all the damage society does to women with a sassy meme or two. For us who are compassionate, sensitive and open hearted, the world can really really hurt sometimes. It's ok to admit that.

  • I feel sorrow that I may never be truly loved and understood
  • I feel sorrow that I will always be alone
  • I feel sorrow that other women seem to find men who adore them and deep down it makes me question my whole self worth and feel hopeless and broken (even though it 'shouldn't')
  • I feel sorrow that so many men despise relationships rather than seeing the immense gift that a woman's presence is
  • I feel sorrow that no matter how 'good' and 'beautiful' and 'accomplished' I may be, it is more likely to make me look like a 'conquest' and 'target' rather than someone to care for in return
  • I feel sorrow that society has become so atomised and liberal that duty and responsibility are stripped further and further away, leaving me feeling like I won't be able to trust and depend on anyone
  • I feel sorrow that our sisters are exploited and trafficked and that feminism, which is supposed to protect women, has been hijacked to promote and glamourise women's destruction
  • I feel sorrow that porn/LibFem/capitalism/secularism has further stripped society and men of the capacity for love of another human rather than objectification and commodification of another human
  • I feel sorrow that husbands can be so unloving to their wives, treating them like servants, maids, whores, a nuisance, a 'chain'
  • I feel sorrow that I have to be so guarded against the world because I can't trust men to treat my heart with gentleness and empathy in dating
  • I feel sorrow that society does not teach men to be better and gives them a free pass
  • I feel sorrow that society doesn't protect our young and innocent girls and instead feeds them to the wolves to rip their hearts out, 'teaching them a lesson' in only the most brutal of ways
  • I feel sorrow that the supposedly most intimate and sacred act in the world is instead used as a tool of manipulation, exploitation and degradation. There is truly nothing sacred
  • I feel sorrow that society trains our sweet sons to be sociopaths
  • I feel sorrow that our love for a man can be used against us as our greatest weakness
  • I feel sorrow that male lurkers will see this post as something to laugh at
  • I feel sorrow that society refuses to hear women's pain

But don't let them take away your ability to feel and be kind-hearted too. Keep and cherish the pure gold that is your heart x
