Not a gynecologist but my skin doctor (sorry don't know the word in English) is a man and I have to go to him once every six months to make sure my freckles and birth marks are safe. Every six months I stand in front of this old guy in my underwear while he inspects my body head to toe with a magnifying glass (!!) and never have I felt unsafe. Men don't get falsely accused, they get caught.

The only men who worry about “false” accusations are predators who constantly push boundaries as much as they can. The accusations are never actually false. They’re shitty manipulators like most males.

I have a male gynecologist. He is very kind and respectful. Never gave off creepy vibes. I told him I was sexually active so he gave me some free BC under the table because he hated seeing all the young women walk up into his office pregnant and was like "I don't want to see you walk in here one day like that."

I remember reading about the case of a male gynaecologist who uses his occupation to perform horrid, abusive acts on his female patients. Don't wanna go into detail as it might trigger some people here but it includes a spraying bottle and various liquids such as hydrogen peroxide, vinegar... This is why I refuse to trust male practitioners and exclusively go to female doctors.

One of the most non-judgmental gynaecologists that I came across in my country was a male. Professional, direct, did not hide or evade information, did not ask prying questions or made judgmental comments.

Good doctor.

Edit: Not against women doctors, but I've seen more women gynaecs in India being way more judgmental and insensitive. Especially older ones.

There's a German male gynecologist who is one of only a FEW who do abortions. He is faced with harassment and death threats everyday. When questioned why he does it he said :" If I won't do it, nobody will". He is or will soon retire. I really have a huge problem with males in Healthcare bc a lot of them live their God complex out or harass. But this man. This one got my full trust. I am sad that he retires and I hope he finds a good doctor who takes over.

I have a male GP and he doesn't give me gynecological exams. On one hand, I get it that doing a gynecological exam sucks, on the other hand, it's in his job description!

When I was anxious to get tested for STDs he made me wait months and he referred me to a gynecologist. The gynecologist scolded me for wasting his time and told me to tell my GP he has to do the PAP test himself.

I don't feel comfortable forcing my GP to look at a vag when he clearly doesn't want to so I've been going without screenings since. Male docs are okay but lazy.
