I haven't seen women here claim they 'aren't visually aroused by men' but rather - that looks are one component amongst many. Female arousal is holistic.

First of all, visual stimuli don't do nothing, they're just not as powerful/the end-all-be-all.

That said, all of these standards.....tend, IME, to apply primarily to OLD. Where you, uh, don't really have non-visual information about anyone except a sentence or two.

Pretty much every woman I know has had an experience with a guy who's "not her type" who she was SUPER into/vaguely obsessed with. Myself included.

Women don't experience direct physical arousal from looks most of the time. But a man needs to be physically attractive in order to eventually get to the point where he triggers physical arousal.

Women are less visual in the sense that they are far more likely to compromise on the looks factor for men that have non-physical qualities that women find appealing. But if we're going on initial impression alone, yeah, they are as visual as men.

We are definitely visually aroused. There are a lot of other factors (such as dirty talk, the context of the relationship, being caressed, feeling safe, etc) that contribute to women's arousal, but visual stimuli actually count for a lot.

I don't think dating short guys is usually "an experiment," it's just that women's preferences don't all line up with the average. Some of us just like short dudes or are are apathetic about their height. For women who do prefer tall guys they might also prize other traits even higher and still find some short guys very visibly appealing for those other reasons.

However if a woman really doesn't experience that visual attraction she probably won't ever be truly satisfied in the relationship.

Tall guys make me feel small and feminine. A lot of girls want to feel safe with a guy when they walk around with him and larger guys can usually instill this feeling. It’s not that looking at tall guys gives us lady boners, it’s the way their height contrasts with our own and instills the feeling that he would be able to protect us and our offspring.
