Reminds me of a required course I took for criminal justice at Portland State University called 'women, crime and justice' first day I walk in to the lecture hall (80 students, all female besides 1 other male) the female instructor says over the silence of the classroom 'oh great, a male in the class to share the male perspective.' before I even sat down on the first day of class I'm getting identified as the designated :male' by the teacher and in a course that preached the Ills of patriarchy at the expense of all women. In hindsight I could've clapped back with a 'did you just assume my gender?' which would've been money. Anyways, spent the rest of the quarter bringing up facts and statistics to represent men (since the instructor designated me the spokesperson for the male perspective) and how the feminist narrative rarely represents equality or any resemblance of truth.
