Inflation is near guaranteed at this point and the dollar will lose its value real quick with all the government printing money like its toilet paper. And the US economy took a strong hit thanks to COVID 19.SO you're hard earned money will lose its value if things will go south

My two cents:Buy some pure gold from some reputable gold bullion seller

Gold will never lose its value,heck it's value is actually increasing with time.Buying gold is literally the most risk free option to keep your well deserved money safe

Some tips here:

1.KEEP YOUR FUCKIN FREAKIN BIG MOUTH SHUT. DO NOT TELL A SOUL THAT YOU BOUGHT GOLD AND YOU'RE STORING THEM IN YOUR HOUSE,NOT EVEN YOUR FAMILY(MOM,DAD,Brothers). You will tell your brother and then your brother will tell his friend,and then his friend will tell an acquaintance and so on. And In no time,the whole town will know that u/ActionItems have gold worth a quarter million dollars in his house.This is a great way to get yourself killed and robbed in no time.

"Fuck you" money is the ultimate freedom. Been doing the same since my divorce and it's awesome. I find it rewarding to also get myself a little something here and there so I'm not always living at subsistence levels for the sake of chasing early retirement. A couple extra bucks on a nice steak, bottle of scotch, or pursuing a hobby like music for example. Better for you mentally than just stacking cash. Congrats and keep up the good work!

Get a financial planner, and invest most of it and most of what comes in, too. You could put your money into an investment savings account, that's 10 to 20 grand per year right there, man, without lifting a finger. Always be planning for retirement with some life insurance to take care of you in case you get into an accident or something.

Great work! If I was you and you are planning on living in the same area for the next five years I'd buy I house in a good neighborhood. Your credit is obviously golden and you could do a 25% down payment and interest rates are insanely low right now. You'll build equity and if you do keep a house long term you pay off a 15 year mortgage and you essentially live only paying the taxes and utilities which would be around what an apartment will be and you'll only be 43 years old. A mortgage is to me the only "good debt".
