Been doing a bit of reflecting (in 20s) and I realised that my ex picked out my physical flaws quite a lot... I'm actually reluctant to call it that because it was really minor stuff like the fine fine fine fine lines you get on your forehead (you know so you can move it), or a tiny mole I have on my cheek or a slightly prominent vein on the back of my leg or a barely noticable syringoma (those pale bumps you get on your face) or upper lip hair (and again, the not noticable super pale sort that you know, YOU HAVE CAUSE YOU'RE A MAMMAL). Ironically my guy then had a bunch of more noticable things I could have pointed out, but I didn't you know why? Nothing could be done about it, it was nothing to be concerned about, it was natural, I knew it would probably make him uncomfortable.

He'd also point out if I had a spot (like duh like I'd not notice I have a spot on MY FACE).

Wondered if you guys ever got this behaviour. Like when someone says this stuff to you, I don't even know what reply they expect? What is gained from pointing it out? Would they not think you already know what your face looks like? He was ultimately LVM and a bit all over the place, but I would call him kind and he never nasty to me or anything.

My theory is they are so used to looking at porn/ ads it throws them and they find it distracting and so are prompted to say something. I am hoping it wasn't negging, and it doesn't feel like it was it honestly seemed like he gave no thought to the fact it might be unhelpful or hurtful. It was just weird and probably made me wayyy more insecure at the time. Now I'm single as long as I'm fit and healthy IDGAF. I really don't miss that behaviour at all and being under scrutiny for barely noticable natural shit.
