Reminds me of a depressing study I read the other day that found, "men are more likely to leave when their wife becomes seriously ill, even if they were highly satisfied beforehand." "Women with serious illnesses are seven times as likely to be left by their partner than men in the same situation." The article is over a decade old with a sample smaller than 600 people so all I can tell myself is that hopefully that isn't so accurate.. I don't want to believe most men are lower than a crow

Yup. This has been my experience. While in labor, and having painful contractions, I tried to hide my moans of pain but obviously found it challenging. My ex at the time said me to “Shut the f*ck up. Your getting on my nerves.” After I had the baby, I stayed an extra night or two in the hospital due to health issues. I found out that while I was in the hospital, he was cheating on me with girls that were in high school. He was in the military.

I’m so glad I got out of that relationship. It was hard.

I often think of birds and compare their mating practices/behaviors to our own. Male birds are usually doing the most for their lady birds. I have pet chickens and they live harem style but my roo is such a sweetie to his hens. But also they could live without him easily, one hen will take the rooster role if there isn’t a rooster around.
