Yeah, ex moidfriend was pressuring me to get on hormonal birth control via the pill, or even worse, get the birth control injection. He really DID have the majority of men and women backing him up - which is another reason it's difficult to avoid giving in to their demands.

The fact that the birth control would affect my desire for sex was not a factor for him. Only how his pee-pee feels. I spent SO MUCH time arguing with him about it, trying to find some kind of birth control that would be okay with respect to risk, getting stressed because there really isn't one, and ON TOP of that, when I asked him to get tested for STDs, he said he'd send me the bill for that because I was paranoid. Time has passed and revealed what a POS this guy was.

Yeah my ex was shocked when I got pregnant. Blaming me. It's not my fucking fault u don't want to wear condoms and put all the onus on me, and seriously hormonal birth control isn't always very effective. My husband just uses a condom, we've been together 9 years and he takes responsibility for birth control. It took a long time to find a man that was respectful but you just can't give them chances I just got rid of a load of guys in succession after my last bf. I was ready to drop my husband every day for more than two years if I felt he wasn't respectful. It's still good and I'm glad that I never settled. I decided on what was important to me and I was never going to settle for sub par again

I have an IUD and don't volunteer this information to new partners. If they don't offer to wear a condom, it's a red flag. If they want to stop using a condom after I tell them, it's a red flag.

As bad as hormonal birth control is I can't trust a man to be solely responsible for my birth control because IMO the idea of pregnancy and giving birth is worse.

The pill is a godsend to me. I had adult acne and too much body hair. It turned out I, as many women, have too many male hormones (androstendion in my case). It alliviated that and straightened out my mood swings.

To escape this I decided to stop taking the pill, told him it was to test if my migraine gets better without it and it would just be for a few months...I'd rather spend a week cowering in a corner in fetus position than enduring this...filth. And he didn't want it without a condom, yeee win. Until he became upset because I also didn't want to give him a bj instead...

After I left his filthy ass and found a loving and caring boyfriend, he had the fcking balls to tell others I must have cheated on him with my now boyfriend (just because we were friends at the time we broke up, wtf).

Yeah in spite of the social benefits, the pill is really harmful. Also, a good friend of mine just about died (twice) because of the supposedly safe and harmless IUD she got implanted. Now it's gone and she just went ahead with a hysterectomy (which has its OWN terrible risks and side effects).

It's mindblowing that women are expected to alter their bodies and hormones, but men don't consider it reasonable to put on a thin piece of removable rubber. I've been waiting for the righteous anger over all this crap women have had shoved down their throats under the guise of sex positivism for sooooo many years. Ya'll are great.

I’m so glad I didnt put up with all the other dudes claiming they were too big for condoms (hun you were not) or that they didnt feel anything with a condom on.

I've been taking birth control for a few years and i didn't have any side effects (yes, i got off birth control for a few months to check if i feel any better/different, it felt the same), i'm only taking it for myself because it regulates my period and makes my face more clear (my skin is prone to acne), i would never take it for someone else though. i still ask my boyfriend to use a condom. to me, birth control is an additional method and not used instead of a condom.

Yep, had a horrible experience on hormonal BC. Was in a LTR and he begged and begged for me to get on it, I was only keen on it bc I also worried about pregnancy. Was horrible, I felt like I had every side effect possible. I turned out to be one of the people who have a decreased sex drive on it. Went from sex 2-3 times every time we saw each other to possibly once a week. He was soon after begging me to get OFF it.

Turned out it cleared my skin and regulated my period after I got off it though. Haven’t been back for 4 years and never will.

Condoms might affect your sensation during sex for probably less than 20 minutes. Hormonal birth control affects women's perception of reality 24 hours a day. So, STFU.

I couldn't take combined hormone bc because it made me mentally unwell, but I found that progestin only worked well for me. A couple years into the depo provera shot and I fractured both tibias in my leg. Turns out depo leeches calcium and you need supplementation. No one told me that. I switched to the mini pill and was so happy with that until after I had my kid. Now suddenly I was bleeding for a week every time I had sex. I switched to no bc at all and experienced the most wonderful periods of my life. So short, so light, and so regular.

I had a pregnancy scare with an abusive moid awhile back, so I tried the nexplanon insert. I have had long, completely irregular periods since I got it over a year ago. I finally found an herbal supplement that made it mostly regular again, but I can not fucking wait to take it out and be on nothing again.

I have considered having my tubes tied, but the risks are too great in my opinion. Just sitting here waiting on menopause now.

Don’t forget melasma! No one told me about melasma ever as a possible side effect of birth control. I had actually found one I thought was side effect free and was skipping my period every month and feeling good - then it discolored my skin :(. Thankfully it’s going away now.

So no more hormonal birth control for me.

I never once have been on hormonal birth control. I've been blessed with regular periods, and i told my husbands what days were off limits for sex (or they could use a condom). So day 10 thru 18 of my cycle were either off limits or condom days. THEIR CHOICE HAHAHA.

I've taken a contraceptive pill half of my life, it's only 6 months ago that I made the link with these awful migraines (the ones that last 3 days). This, the increased risk of strokes and my mental struggles were the reasons I've decided to stop taking it. I'm lucky to be with someone who is mature enough to take responsibility for birth control and accept to use condoms. It's a good test to see if your partner really cares about your health, not just his sexual comfort.

I’m on bc, even though I’m not sexually active, and I have to say I love it. I was having horrible cramps the first few days of my period, plus headaches, and the pill really helps. However I know it’s not for everyone. There’s so many horror stories out there. My cousin had a stroke and almost died because of the pill. We each have to do what’s best for us individually.

People don’t realize why they have babies with health problems or can’t have any kids after taking the pill later in life. God made your hormones a certain way for a reason. Just like he made people to procreate. I’ve seen people that mess with their hormones taking testosterone and then they die of a stroke early in life. Nothing to be messed with imo.
