There's this thing I've noticed that I don't understand about men.

My most recent ex was always negatively judging about the fact that I like to do things that are considered feminine.

I like to garden, sew, crochet, knit, embroider, interior decorate, have an interest in cooking and finding recipes, have a fashion hobby (my money, my apartment, I think I need to add that), I like to socialize with other women, I'm into skin care and generally take good care of my body and health, I cry easily when I watch touching scenes in movies etc.

I don't understand when men are negative about a woman liking these things.

At first I thought "it's just a guy who doesn't like it when a woman puts time and money into her appearance because he thinks that makes her high maintenance", but that doesn't explain the negativity towards the other interests on the list.

Looking back at the relationship I never pushed him to be interested in my interests. At the same time I tried to at least take an interest in his interests because he seemed to like that. His interests were gaming and watching movies and tv series.

It's not that my interests took time away from us being together, I myself thought we didn't have enough quality time together. He was your stereotypical gamer who played multiple hours a day and prioritized gaming over other objectively more important things.

But I've seen women online describe the same negative judgment from men about those interests, whether the man doing the judging was a gamer or not.

Can someone explain why these men do this?
