The percentage of women in engineering is climbing, but we're around 15-20% on average if we're lucky. This is indicative of a pervasive cultural belief that women are naturally inferior at math intensive work. That girls can't (or shouldn't) cut it in engineering. Those who make it through fought like hell to do so. And then what happens? The men in engineering mock them for not being attractive enough. Here we are, in one of the most difficult majors, after facing discouragement if not blatant sexism, trying to make use of our talents and interests, and after all that we listen to these shits telling us we're not up to their physical standards.

Really? That's what you choose as your engineering slogan? You have chosen an education that can genuinely lead to higher standards of living for people, if not life-saving technology. And you focus on how few HOT girls are in your classes, and that the few that are there are strange, fat, or weird? Oh god forbid you're unwilling to fuck the only girls who care enough about their potentials to stay in your life-sucking presence for 4+ years. These self-important dicks actually blame the women in engineering for their lack of ability to get a date! We're facing rampant sexism and misogyny, and all these idiots care about is their next (or first) lay. The if they date a girl from their class they treat her like she's below them while lusting after Instagram model in arts class (but also thinking she's dumb?). Not to mention they fail to understand that these unattractive women are their league. Fuck.

It's hard enough dealing with some of these guys on a friend level. There is a large percentage of engineers who have the most undeservedly high view of themselves. These sexist pricks think they are owed women, because they're engineers who can make a high salary to fund the lives of their imaginary, hot gold-digging girlfriends.

Oh, and maybe most of all, this sort of attitude absolutely contributes to keeping girls away from engineering. This is yet another obstacle that a girl likely won't want to weather. Why should she have to deal with judgmental objectification just to get a degree in a useful subject?
