Purple pilled thinking is becoming the common rhetoric amongst men atleast in my age group (25-35) I don’t think this I stopping them from hooking up with average or less attractive women though, they just aren’t treating them as good as they used to, men aren’t allowing themselves to be in the friend zone as much, and they are doing much less up front for women that they are actually dealing with, so it’s making everyone unhappy because the women aren’t getting what they want out of men, and the men don’t feel like they can put the amount of effort into women that they want without looking foolish

Horniness overpowers pride in men 9/10 times, so I don’t think men en mass are refusing to date down. I think men typically have higher standards when they gain viable options and have to choose between them.

Yes, out of principal if I’m not genuinely attracted to her I’m not going to pursue it. I have never been drastically over weight and would never give an overweight girl a chance. Only average men have low standards. I even had a very attractive friend hit me up as a last resort after she cut me off a year ago and she let herself go and I told her no and goodnight. For context she’s a shitty person as well. She could have lost her weight and then messaged me but no. I don’t even look if I’m not attracted, I refuse to play into a girls sympathy or settle just so I can get laid, I rather jack off. I make it pretty obvious too, so for you to have the audacity to think you’re the catch and that I have such low standards when I clearly don’t, will offend me, I’ll just ignore you. I’ve even had friends try to match me up with girls they know I won’t go for only to have the girl be embarrassed. That annoys me cuz they know what’s up so does the girl and it’s pretty mean. I think there is more men with high standards like me, you just don’t hear about it really.

There is no easy mode for average men.

Dating down means put in the same high amount of effort for a much worse prize with a higher success rate but a success rate that is nowhere close to a sure thing. Even if you date down, your success rate of getting sex is still on the lower end. It just goes from very low to low.

The low success rate destroys the fun of dating for men.

Dating down only works for 7.5+/10 men where they can get sex at a decent success rate to make the process enjoyable for them.

Pride is the root of basically every problem most ideological camps have here on PPD. Plenty of other archtypes besides Chad get laid, many with less effort, but Chad is an archtype that men respect and has a reputation for things happening on their terms, so men want to shoot for that. Same for the FDS HVW and their goals. Those guides aren't about success so much as a version of success that preserves their ego.

Same for why these camps also have a long list of stuff they won't do, which is often based less in how the other camp reacts and more how it feels if you do them and get emotionally invested and get burned anyway.

Some men could refuse to date down out of oride and I won't say thats rare, but its more common for men to at least try to date down but put minimal effort in or allow the minimum of vulnerability because if they do more and get hurt, as people often do, the ego blow feels way worse than if they keep the walls up and it doesn't work anyway.

Pride? Lol no. This isn't pride you're seeing. It's self hate from some of them, jealousy of women in some others, defeat in others still, and the rest of men pretending they don't see the shit show. We're kind of just waiting for men to get a new leader. The good guys are biding their time.

As always, it's different when hooking up and dating.

I've banged promiscuous and quite ugly women just to have a quick lay. I made some FWBs I knew I would never date seriously, and I've pursued women for quite a while when I lknew they would end giving up.

For dating I take the best and only the best. I take pride in my image and the way other people see me so when I need to introduce a woman to my friends and family she needs to be at the same level I am and fit the image I want to proyect to others.

Isn't it pretty well known men have lower standards for sex but normal standards for marriage? There is no changing trend here. Its only pride if everyone knows who these women are and your putting pics of them on social media, that's saved for the LTRs so who cares what you do in the meantime?

If we're just talking about ONS, then in my opinion not really. It's been a while since I was in my 20s when me and my friends were hitting up bars and nightclubs, but even then it was generally seen that getting laid, even with someone who was not attractive, was better than going home alone.

Sometimes I will take a woman who might be objectively not as good looking as another one if she clearly shows that she takes great pride in her presentation, treats me well and is willing to please me both in bed and outside. Yes, men take pride in being with a beautiful women but they should also learn to take pride in themselves regardless. A man who is proud is also extremely attractive.

It plays an extremely small role but it is also the most important.

For example: If sex with a girl in any way compromises my sense of pride or any of my convictions i will drop her like the plague no matter how incredibly hot she can possibly be nor how horny I can get. Pride cancels hormones, honor before sex. If a woman threatens my honor/pride in any possible way then sex is just not happening with her ever! It does not matter how horny I am or even if I am already in the middle of having sex with her, I will pit my dick back in my pants and get the fuck out of there without a second look.

I should also mention that my sense of pride is extremely secure so stupid shit or even intentional jabs at my ego simply do not phase me. I do not make it a habit of advertising what truly offends me so that women do not know where my buttons are located. So far only one girl has ever truly jabbed my pride and I ghosted her like Patrick Swayze.

Because of the rise of feminism and female empowerment, females feel like they want and deserve more from men so close their legs when average men come knocking but open wide when a Chad comes knocking.
