I wish his wife would see the light but she will not. I don’t know if she’s been abused to the point where she is just a shell of herself or if she is the ultimate pick me, but she is never going to leave him.

I followed her on Instagram and had to stop when she posted a video of herself slaying “demons” in her living room. It’s just too much.

If we tried to rescue her she would just call us demons, satan worshippers, jezebels. It’s really sad and troubling, but I don’t think anything can be done there.

He cheated on his girlfirend D'naia (now wife) in college when they were dating. It was in his book that I bought on kindle in January 2019 (before FDS). For those who are not familiar with him, he was this big relationship advice guru on instagram with millions of female followers. He recently cheated on his wife with a couple of women who exposed him. It was a big scandal on social media because he is constantly telling woman they are queens and not to put up with fuckboys.
Anyways, he knows how to tell women exactly what they want to hear and now I understand why. When I bought this book I read in the first chapter that he cheated on her when they were dating in college and it sort of disheartened me and I never finished the book. It made me sad that this "good guy" could cheat on his girlfriend when their relationship was still fresh and new, and that he was supposedly a "reformed fuckboy." It was hard for me to believe this guy could have changed so much from a cheater to this caricature of the perfect man but I just brushed it off. Anyways, this is a minor thing because he is just this relationship "coach" with a huge following (still posting shit and the pick me's are all commenting) , but it just goes to show how important it is to follow your gut instinct, even with people you listen to on social media. I think most people who found out about the scandal didn't realize that he already cheated on her when they were still dating so this isn't a recent pattern of his.

When it comes to male “gurus” or anyone who seems to be giving good, empathetic advice to women, the old saying applies: It takes one to know one! I’ve listened to a lot of male advice I agreed with, but I never fool myself into thinking they aren’t probably opportunistic creeps themselves. Men often can’t handle any modicum fame or money, they wild tf out and think they’re king of the universe. Though it’s clear this guy was always just a garden variety fuckboi that YouTube fame just exacerbated.

I used to listen to him and Matthew Hussey. Hussey you could tell had a huge ego and encouraged pick me behavior. Derrick always seemed too good to be true. You can’t trust any of those male dating coaches. They don’t care about women, they care about $$$ and clout.

Wow. This hit deep. When I was in college I was a lot like his gf/wife that was being cheated on. Like her, I KNEW what was happening and I was in that pick me mindset deep, and still stayed with him. I was in denial. I was being gaslit. I wanted to "have a man". I also didn't have "evidence" for a while and I would try being extra romantic and doing all this extra nice stuff for him, thinking maybe he would pick me. Obviously it didn't work. Him cheating and being distant plus the mental scars from the cheating, the mental energy of trying so much harder to "make him want me again" was so taxing. I became obsessed with school and my job, I was being rewarded with good grades and positive feedback from bosses and coworkers. And then the cheater would neg me saying I was going too hard at school and work and chose work over him. Mentally, I feel into a bad depression and the negging led to weight gain and low low self esteem. It took me a lot of therapy, moving, sweating at the gym, and honestly finding fds to learn and heal from my mistake of seeing his bad behavior and staying.

Its a sign to anyone out there IF you have a gut feeling OR see a red flag just leave. Make an exit strategy of you're married/living together. If hes just someone you are talking to /dating walk out, delete and block.

You do not need "proof". You are not "crazy" or "overreacting". You are not a cuckoo conspiracy therapist for having an off feeling deep down wondering if he is secretly married. Instincts are there for a reason. Listen to them. Get out before you go through the hell this dudes ex wife went through and like I went through.

I hope she found peace, healing, and happiness and saw her worth.

When I saw that he does all his videos in his car and pointlessly shows his face staring at the camera while the the other video is playing was red flag enough for me to know to stay away from his lazy butt
