A decent proportion of the contributions to this sub is men expressing their frustration for the unexplained/unjustified hate they get and pointing out blatant inequalities. Nothing too political or or dramatic.

Mainly because it contradicts all of their views with facts and logic instead of emotions. Yes, there are problems women are facing and no one is disputing those. However, they greatly (or should I say grossly) exaggerate them. Like you said we accept the negative along with the positive.

r/MensRights provides a platform for people (mostly men) to share the hardships that they are facing. These hardships are mostly ignored by mainstream media and thus this provides a place for us to seek help and guidance. So thank you everyone on r/MensRights

Because the world sees men as robots. We’re supposed to just go and work shitty jobs for minimum wage all our lives so we can provide. People can’t accept that we have emotions and need a place to vent sometimes, and this is that place for us. Everywhere else on the internet just laughs at us or tells us we’re too privileged to have opinions or emotions. If people actually read the posts they’d realise it’s pretty much just a big chamber of men trying to seek support and acknowledge each other, but for whatever reason a group of men is now socially associated with being a group of rapists, misogynists and incels. There is occasional misogyny but it is always called out and corrected, in contrast to the insane amount of misandry on r/feminism . If you’re one of those people who do spew bullshit on here about how you hate women, please find another place to do that because this is our only safe space and it should be kept as peaceful, supportive and equality approving.

r/MensRights is not hated by everyone. Just a large number of man hating radical feminist who find any opposition to their ideology heinous and outrageous.

There are nearly 300k members of r/MensRights (and still growing), and many more who visit without joining (cautious men and boys). Some have called out the vocal members of the group (sometimes appropriately) for a variety of woke offenses. But the vast majority of members are just ordinary men and women who are attracted to one of the few pro-male forums on the net.

Nicely put. When i first join this sub, i honestly thought it be men just being angry at the world for being treated low class. But nope! It’s far from it. This sub puts out very topics which are discussed in a very excellent manner. To add to your post, we have woman in here who too agree with you that this sub is not toxic at all. Hell! There was a post awhile back about a individual who came from r/feminism and claim how very toxic that sub is. To me, that speaks volume.

If someone ever says this sub or movement is a hate group or sexist, ask them to prove it, tell them to give evidence, if they get defensive or don't respond, then what they said was a weak attack on something that can't control, if they actually do provide good evidence or a good argument, then have a reasonable discussion with them

I think it's the same problem as feminism, a large number of people are here to vent and support those who are venting. That can definitely be a turn off if you are a woman and you come here and see a lot of people saying women suck.

Obviously there's more to it than that and more problems with feminism than that, but we definitely need to make sure that venting isn't being used as an excuse to say problematic things.

From the perspective of a lady, who came here to educate herself and be supportive of the men in my life, this sub initially read as very depressing. I’ve seen a lot of very extreme emotions from OPs and you have to read through a lot to find the well balanced folk. So the topics can feel a little heavy. It’s hard to read through the whole sub, so I lurk a little at a time.

The reasons change depending on the group. Feminists see rights as a zero sum game. More for us means less for them, for example.

The real reason is, imo, much more insidious. Society needs men to function, and it needs them working and not complaining. And it definitely doesn't need them complaining about the things society does to force them into those undesirable work conditions. It's mass indoctrination to treat males as disposable, and it will react, in some cases violently, to people who pull down the curtain.

Also many of the things we fight for mean a whole lot for women. Alimony, child support, divorce all represent massive cash flows from mostly men to women with an entire industry built up to profit from it.

tl;dr people profit from your abuse, and you pointing out the abuse fucks with their money

I think Reddit is kind of terrible for politics, it’s encourages echo chambers. That said I’ve lurked around on feminist subreddits and I feel that we share a lot of the same intentions. That said the feminist subreddits are a lot worse then r/mensrights at moderating toxicity and radical view points. Believe me places like FDS gets called out almost everywhere but FDS. Gender politics is a very difficult subject since there are biological and psychological differences in the sexes, but in my limited experience and knowledge there is more in common then there are differences.

However it isn’t that all women want to hurt or exploit man, hell I’m a “low value” man by any standard, but rather that there is a lot for people to exploit with popular movements like feminism.

Companies and politicians push movements like feminism in order to exploit it for influence and money. instead of asking why everyone hates on r/mensrights we should ask who profits off of men’s rights hate.

(But yeah I’ve browsed FDS and their four 6 standards are depressing AF. 6 feet tall, 6 pack, 6 figures, and 6 inches.)

In my experience theres a lot of posts that focus on their idea of modern feminism. Theres people here who seem more concerned about combating feminists or anyone they disagree with rather than actual mens rights. Many people believe feminism simply fights for equal rights amongst the sexes (whether that belief is misguided or not), so when they see a group of people so focused on being anti-feminism they believe those people dont want equal rights.

When I first came to this subreddit, it felt more focused on actual mens rights issues. Things like fathers rights were much more common. Nowadays I find it to be more gotcha moments, memes, or just general complaints about the "other side". Also if someone makes a respectful argument that goes against the narrative here they are liable to receive massive amounts of downvotes (although that's not really exclusive to this sub).

You're not gonna get an unbiased opinion. I like the message of the sub but some ppl go a bit to one or another end of the dilemma, sometimes coming off as a bit sexist. Take it with a grain of salt, it doesn't represent everyone but the sub is far from perfect as is everyone

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but there are misogynists on this sub giving us a bad rep. I think the ones giving us a bad rep are the mainly conservative traditionalist branch of the sub that lurks in the comment section. That's why subs like leftwingmaleadvocates and menslib were created, but I personally don't like menslib because they don't focus on mens issues very much. Leftwingmaleadvoactes is pretty good though. Also there are some people saying that "Women don't face issues at all", and that is also wrong.

I've often seen some incel-y, sexist, and downright anti-women comments on here and it just doesn't sit right for me.

MensRights is trying to be "the nice guy" of the Manosphere, mainly by shutting down all discussion around men's sexuality. I understand the rationale, but it won't work: eventually they will censor it too. The feminist authoritarianism doesn't tolerate an inch of dissent. The "nice guy" strategy only succeeds in forcing men, especially the younger, to look elsewhere.

I just recognize and acknowledge men have unequal sexist bullshit we have to deal with in our society as well.
True equality is supporting women and men.

People see Men's Rights Advocates like they would Millionaire Rights Advocates.

IE Millionaires already have the power and resources to advocate for themselves. Advocating for millionaires will only increase inequality.

It's easy to understand that if people see it this way they would be hostile to MRAs.

Misogynistic posts are sometimes upvoted here and instead of critiquing the attacks on other people and places, most people here blindly upvote because they're emotionally driven and angry.

That's different from enforcing moderation and clamping down on ragebait like any good moderation team is supposed to do.

You'll see a lot of posts about it being a conspiracy or everyone being against us here but if you critically analyze the way people here speak about women, feminism, other subs, etc, you'll notice a lot of anger and hostility in people's words that doesn't get called out.

It's going to be a mix.

Some people just hate men and therefore will hate the sub
Some think it's existence takes away from feminism and therefore hate it
We get clumped up together with other subs that do tend to spout hate
And I presume the rest just hate us based on assumptions and word of mouth.

The last one is probably the biggest reason. Since you never hear about media talking about men's problems the world follows the feminist viewpoint that men have all the power and therefore have nothing to complain about. So they hear about a men's right sub or movement and they can only assume it's a bunch of men bitching about losing their control over the women around them.

Obviously if you spend more than 5 minutes on this sub you realize that there's a ton of double standards all around us that favor women and the majority of guys aren't as well off as the media portrays.

I like this sub, there's a bunch of cool people... but it is also the only sub where I gave out my opinion of something and it eventually led to someone saying my country deserved 911.... so you know its hit or miss
