Background: Hello, I'm new to RPW. Have wanted to try a more drastic approach to dating for a while now. Have always found several issues with TRP, so I'm so glad this subreddit exists! Your viewpoint seems a lot more reasonable, and in line with my goals. (LTR leading into marriage)

I have a history of being friendzoned or, best case scenario, being rejected after 2-3 dates for no reason at all. My friends haven't ever been helpful, always telling me gems like "he's a loser if he can't see how great you are!" and "there's someone out there for you!" But I was willing to wade through all their BluePill rhetoric one more time because two weeks ago I met someone (M26) who seemed really promising.

After meeting him in person and seemingly hitting it off after a nebulous hang out/date, we were going on a museum date. We meet at a subway stop, he's dressed nicely and I am too (to the best of my ability, being ugly), he hugs me, everything's going as planned, and as we get on the train...

He informs me that this is an outing as "just friends", and asks if I am comfortable being "just friends". I smiled and said it was fine, but I was so upset about being rejected that I got off the train early at my stop and left him to ride the train alone.

The kicker is, I already KNEW he wasn't interested. Somewhere in our text conversations, his properly punctuated and capitalized answers turned into one-word answers (this was right after we finalized plans for our "date"). I wasn't even texting him that much. 4-5 sentences between us every 2-3 days for two weeks. That's totally reasonable! So why did I get friendzoned? What am I doing wrong?

It's the morning after being rejected, and I'm wondering if I should've stayed on the train and continued with our plans for the evening. Did he want me to stick around so could get to know me better without the pressure of a relationship? Or was his rejection of me a shit test, to sniff me out and see if I was a psycho bitch?

At this point in my life, I already am a psycho bitch. I'm 24 years old and feel washed up. There is no wall for me to hit because I've never been attractive. I was morbidly obese as a child/teenager, now I'm only clinically obese at 5'2" and 180 lbs. Working out 3-4 times a week is helping me lose weight slowly, but surely. I track calories, too, but I end up bingeing out of loneliness so I end up eating between 2000 and 2300 calories on a really bad day. Every rejection I face makes it harder and harder to stay 'sane' in the early stages of dating. I used to look at cute guys on the subway and appreciate their good looks, but now I look at them and all I feel is rage. I'm seeing a therapist for these issues... but I feel like that just makes me more of a mess.

How can I get out of this trap? What am I doing wrong?
