Normally, I don't comment on the one shared one female bathroom thing, but this is nuts. I would not stop using this restroom. I don't care if I get in trouble or even fired for it. There is no reason to refuse the allowance of men into the only restrooms on the floor.

This not only applies to men, but children as well. Even young boys in building have to go upstairs to use the washroom. If that's not discrimination, I don't know what is.

I don't plan on quitting my job because of it. I'd rather fight to give these gentlemen their equal share of the washrooms back. (Also I'm only there for another month.)

There's a gym I go to that has the women's locker room on the first floor. It's very convenient and right next to the weight room and the front desk. Meanwhile, the men's locker room is on the second floor, all the way in the back and next to the cardio and stretching/yoga area. Like 75% of the gym members seem to be male too. How does that make any sense?

Had exact same situation at the last work place. It was 4 floor building, with female bathrooms being on 1st and 3rd floor, male on 2nd, and unisex on 4th. Females would routinely go into bathroom on the second floor to use the sink, and bitched loudly when they were told it was MEN'S BATHROOM, but on the very few occasions men went into one of their twos... There were scandals, with building administration being called and threats of police being thrown around.

Though the culmination of that was when we got relocated to the 4th floor and found out that the "unisex" bathroom was not, in fact, unisex, as females would lock the entire bathroom when they need to use single stall, because they don't feel comfortable knowing that a man can just walk in and use other stall. Man, i glad i quit that place...

Bathroom queues are always insane. I don't know what the fuck they are doing in there but women take sooooo long in the bathroom. I'm guessing that sometimes you are changing pads or tampons and that is understandable. I also understand that there are some clothes that are easier to unzip and take off than others (I see you overalls) so you take longer to pee and poop. Men also seem to have more urinals since they don't require as much space as a stall but I can't confirm this. I am pretty sure some women go to bathrooms just to put on make-up but since I don't do it and none of my girl friends do it as well (that I'm aware of) I can't confirm as well.

HOWEVER, despite all of this I don't think taking away men's bathrooms is the way to go. I honestly think gender neutral bathrooms with stalls only would solve all of the bathroom's issues we have today (including the trans and non-binary folk that are confused about this).

At my uni, when there wasn't space to have 2 separate bathrooms those bathrooms were gender neutral. No one cared. You just go there to pee/poop and if you wanted more privacy you could walk a bit and you would have an individual bathroom. I don't see the issue. I have an issue with the way pic related handled the situation.

There are several ways you can make this a huge issue for the company to have to deal with. Report to HR, citing concerns for regulations being broken and discrimination along with it being a hostile workplace with threats of violence from the women that posted that image.

There is such a toilet in my school, but it's due to a design flaw where there is only enough room for one toilet. So in one place the lady's is at the bottom floor and the men's on the 2nd, and elsewhere, it's the other way round.

If it means the new trend away from unisex bathrooms is going away, I'm all for it.

Naturally, if that's the case, feminists would frame it as liberating that women are Taking Back Their Restrooms from the hated male oppressors.

The fact that it was feminists in the first place who created all those unisex bathrooms and all the laws mandating unisex bathrooms would drop instantly and comprehensively down the memory hole.

Consistency is not prized in feminist circles. Parsing any and all situations so they're either victories or setbacks at the hands of male oppressors is.

Like I say, if I get my bathrooms and my urinals back, I'm all for it and will ignore the inane cackling.

You have to admit, this is a much better direction than laws forcing men to sit when they pee. You have to know that was in the original plan. Also, they'd make sure the toilet seats are always the ones that crush your junk to use them.

I don't have a problem if there are only women working or living on that floor.

What was actually unfair is that in college, I lived lived in a dorm building. The all men's units had both women's and men's bathrooms. The women's units had only women's bathrooms, doors to separate them off, and if a guy was caught in the halls of the women's unit they would be quickly removed. Of course, the women would hang out in the men's common areas all the time. The men's only units should have only had men's bathrooms.

Thankfully I was housed in the quiet unit, which was technically coed but in reality was all male, had no common area, had its own doors, and true to its name was quiet and quite pleasant. It was also by the front door so I didn't have to walk far to get to my room.
