I'm noticing a distinct lack of acting in "the best interests of the child".

The kid wants to be a boy but the mom is somehow overriding his wishes and forcing him to be a girl.

This is the sort of child abuse that breeds serial killers. Seriously. Charles Manson, Ed Kemper, Ted Bundy and several others were subjected to maternally forced cross dressing. This woman has 0 idea just how bad of a parent she is and the fact that she's calling the father a child abuser is ridiculous enough to say she should instantly lose custody.

I feel awful for this kid who is probably going to end up being a god damn suicide statistic over this within a decades time.

If this father's got the money, he should take the son and flee to somewhere sensible. I'm thinking Hungary, but maybe there are other countries which would grant asylum in these circumstances.

For instance I imagine Russia would be only too delighted to tell the American courts to fuck-off, but even France might take a dim view of mocking-about with a boy's penis.

Edit: I mean, fuck it, what about Mississippi? Even though it's a U.S. state it's seems the most conservative.

This is outraging and beyond any possible logic and humanity. In my country changing gender is an incredibly difficult procedure because they make the people wanting to do this go through incredibly extensive checks by psychiatrists to make sure they REALLY want this permanent change.

Instead, the courts of law in this case are HELPING THIS CRAZY LADY DESTROY A CHILD'S LIFE? How is this even possible?

There aren’t many things that would push me to murder someone, but having recently been made aware of what happened to David Reimer, if the mother of my child went through with something like this and the courts allowed it, this would 100% push me to kill as many people involved before getting caught. The sheer lack of human empathy is sick.

What’s happened to the kid for the past 3 years is traumatic enough, but castrating him because you’d rather have a daughter would definitely lead him to commit suicide at some point later in life.

How could a father live with himself knowing he could have maybe stopped his kid from being castrated. I would do anything to save my kid from that hellish future. I don't like using the word evil to describe people because it's overused. But this women is 100% fucking evil, maybe even possessed and demonic. No sane person would castrate their son or daughter. In any other time period this would never happen. But here we are, in the this very "Progressive" age.

To me the fact that he agrees with whichever parent he’s in the presence of currently seems to suggest that he’s eager to please them and do as they say- perfectly normal for his age. It’s difficult to sort out what exactly the child wants or believes. With such ambiguity, to me the best option is to follow statistics- most people born boys stay boys, and there’s zero harm in NOT operating. If, as he ages, his feelings become clearer and it turns out he does have gender dysphoria, then I’d be all for a transition. As it stands, however, this is a young child mixed up in a very complex and harmful relationship, and he needs to be removed from the conflict.

It's the point of transgenderism that it is awful to be forced to be a gender that doesn't match the gender you feel? If he isn't really trans and just pleasing his mother, that is where he will be when this is done. I wish they would leave kids' hormones alone until puberty is completed. We haven't tested the safety of these things physically and just hope for best results in their mental health. With monitoring, suport, and consoling, they can make it though, then make an adult choice about their body.

I think this article is a little over sensationalized, and there are facts about the treatment that are blatantly untrue.

From age 0 to 12, if a child is suspected of being transgender, it is only a social transition.

From age 12-18, upon decision of a medical professional, they are given hormonal blockers. Hormonal blockers only delay puberty, giving the child more time to decide. The effects are 100% reversible, and does not cause sterilization.

At age 18 and above, the person can then decide to move onto hormonal replacement therapy where the effects are irreversible.

Before the age of 12 (and after for that matter, but in preparation for deciding on delaying puberty), the child should be given the choice. If the Mother threw out all their boys clothes, and only kept the girl's clothes, that would be a form of child abuse. The mother would indeed be forcing the child into a particular gender.

If this is indeed the case, the father should take the mother to court. But that's not to say the father should throw out all of the girl's clothes. The father should take this seriously. Each morning, when dressing his child, he should present both girl and boys clothes, and not attempt to influence his child's decision in any way.

The father should seek a medical professional who is completely neutral on the matter, and able to examine the child to see if they are indeed transgender or not.
