Removed because this is a low-effort image post - the second part has no relation to the first.

Gotta love how a guy being a douche gets more attention on twox than a man having his life destroyed by false accusations.

I wonder what can actually be done about her though.

As far as I'm aware she didn't actually go to the police about this, so it would be a case of defamation, which is a civil matter.

In their heads they literally think that women can do no wrong that's why they will always focus on something a man does and completely ignore anything bad a woman does.

Once you understand that's the mentality they have, then you understand feminists and why they do what they do. Any criticism of women is misogyny, any actual evidence of wrongdoing by women is denial of rape culture.

"There's no evidence that Eva Braun wasn't a good person".

[+]TheySeeMeLearnin1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (16 children) | Copy Link

In their heads, they think that the wrong that women do is statistically small enough to not focus on because oftentimes singular cases are used as a straw man argument to maintain a system that, in their perception, still operates to their detriment.

I’m not saying who’s right or not because I only stumbled on this post from /r/all and usually wouldn’t comment, but I like to find places where I can do something to bridge a gap without offending, which is tough these days because people seem to be seeking out offense and try to turn their feelings into other people’s problems.

[+]Drewfro6661 points 8 years ago [recovered] (15 children) | Copy Link

Agreed completely (and also from /r/all).

I strongly sympathize with the Men's Rights movement, but I just really, really cannot get past the whole feminist-hatred thing. I do not understand why promoting fairness for men has to involve dismissing unfairness against women. (And, to be clear, I understand that not all MRAs are like this. But there's a reason why an anti-feminist post gets 100+ upvotes on here)

Some feminists are crazy man-haters. Most just want fairness and equality. But you're not winning any friends complaining about feminism, collectively attacking a large group of potential allies because some of them are critical towards your movement and goals.

[–]Arby01 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I do not understand why promoting fairness for men has to involve dismissing unfairness against women.

You have confused two things. "anti-feminism" and "dismissing unfairness against women" are NOT the same thing. At all.

Most of MR could be considered to be feminist, as feminism is commonly understood to be defined. The problem that exists is that the common understanding of what feminism means, and what organizations and individual feminist do, under the guise of feminism is radically different.

Some examples may help. Ever hear the canard "a woman's standard of living drops 70% in divorce and a man's increases by x%"? This was research produced in the 70's by a gender studies professor. You might think, "yeah, ok, in the 70's divorce was a big deal". That's true, but the research never was true. It was falsified from the data. The researcher refused any of her peers access to her data for over 10 years. When the criticisms were leveled, she blamed it on a grad student having made a math error. This research was the basis for reforms in alimony and child support since then. Which means that the amounts calculated are based on a lie. That seems like a big deal. (you can google this whole thing - the researcher is a dean of gender studies at an influential university. Name me any other field where you can have your research proven to be falsified and still profit from it. Researcher is Lenore Weitzman. )

For example 2, I would refer to domestic violence. When the first women's shelter's opened, several educated leaders in the field started talking about how the levels of violence in domestic relationships were appearing to be roughly equal from the data. Those people were pushed out of the field. The feminist groups promoted the "woman as victim philosophy". From that start we ended up with issues like the "Duluth model". You can read up on the Duluth model if you like but essentially it means "arrest the man in (almost) every case". The logic ends up being that if the man is stabbed, beaten or otherwise injured, it must have been defensive and he gets arrested and charged and removed from his home. There are plenty of examples of this. This is so pervasive in the field that if you look at domestic violence hotlines the information often says things like "if you are a woman experiencing violence call xxx-xxxx for help. If you are a man struggling with not being violent call xxx-xxxx for help". The concept that men can be abused within domestic relationships has been completely erased. This is feminism.

Every group has fringe elements. MR is almost completely pro-women's equality.
However, when you criticize feminism, even if that criticism is valid, every woman who thinks "feminism is equal rights" shows up screaming. The problem is that feminism is not "equal rights". It's a "women's advocacy movement" and it absolutely necessary. Right now however, it has a stranglehold of the entire gender discussion. That's bad and especially bad for men. That's why MR has a strong anti-feminism presence. Not because there is a desire to "dismiss unfairness against women".

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful response.

I do get why the MRA community might be a little hostile towards certain feminist groups. But that still really does not excuse generalizing feminists and taking about feminists as a group as if they all oppose the MRA. It's not helpful. As a moderate feminist, it makes me hesitate to participate in the MRA community.

And it's not just that. I've seen comments on here with hundreds of upvotes claiming stuff like the wage gap not being real, and other explicitly anti-FRA stuff. I get that /r/MensRights isn't an exclusively leftist sub, but, like, still. Come on.

[–]HotDealsInTexas 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As a moderate feminist, it makes me hesitate to participate in the MRA community.

You know what, to be quite honest, I don't really care how you feel. This movement's membership is made up largely, if not primarily, of ex-Feminists, and in my experience the Feminists who are genuinely interested in finding common ground end up abandoning the label sooner or later because they discover the truth about how poorly Feminism lines up with its stated ideals - either from us or from the backlash they receive from their fellow Feminists when they dare to say those filthy MRAs might not be that bad.

Many Feminist attempts to engage with the other side are also outright untrustworthy. For example, MensLib, a subreddit popularly promoted as a "alternative men's movement that isn't anti-Feminist" has a rule banning even discussing "Financial Abortion" or "Legal Paternal Surrender," and the mod has said the ban is because he considers it a "deriliction of men's responsibilities." This so-called men's group stands in direct opposition to even the most basic goal of men having equal rights under the law, and this is part of a pattern.

If you want to keep trying to reconcile supporting Men's Rights with continuing to associate yourself with a movement with a consistent track record of opposing men's rights (note the lack of capitalization), go right ahead, but we're under no obligation to treat the overwhelmingly louder Feminist voices that are hostile to us with kid gloves just to make it easier for you.

[–]Arby01 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do get why the MRA community might be a little hostile towards certain feminist groups.

You think you get it, but I suspect that you miss the bigger picture. You mentioned focusing on the 'positives for men' instead of the 'negatives of feminism'. This is a maze of competing interests. For domestic violence, you follow the money. The groups involved fight against men's shelters and other ideas because it would affect their bottom line. But the rely on the label of 'feminism' to do so, and when they shout "mra group wants to cut funding to women's shelter", everybody comes out to defend them - even if the men's group was trying to get funding for their own initiative not cut funding elsewhere - but cutting funding elsewhere is simply the reality.

You can see similar stuff play out it the things like pushes for equal parenting presumption, etc. It doesn't matter that it's "focusing on the positives for men", like making them more involved parents. It cuts into a source of power and influence and it is opposed by gigantic publicly funded feminist organizations.

You get the same thing with suicide initiatives. Funding for suicide prevention for men only is a non starter, despite 80% of suicides being male. If 80% of suicides were female, we'd be awash in women only suicide outreach. Most social initiatives are created and run by women, for women and resist any male only initiatives. Male outreach, if done at all, is tacked on as a afterthought and not custom programmed. (and usually handled by the same people that assume a guy calling in for help from an abusive spouse is obviously the abuser and deserves the appropriate treatment - the stories of treatment that a guy receives from these "help" places are truly horrifying)

The only way forward is to break the stranglehold on the discussion. That means directly opposing feminist organizations and refuting the lie that feminism is about equality. As I stated, feminism is "women's advocacy" and is sorely needed, but so is "men's advocacy" and feminism is denying it a seat at the table by claiming "equality".

As an aside:

> claiming stuff like the wage gap not being real,

The wage gap is very real. However, it can't be proven to be direct discrimination. After all (manageable, identifiable) factors are taken into account, the actual gap is on the order of 1-2% (at least in the stuff I have read).

It would be good for you to read up on this particular topic, because the biggest argument in MR isn't that the 'wage gap isn't real'

it's that this statement:

"Women get paid less for the same job" - is not true. That's been illegal for decades.

All the studies that show wage gaps compare groupings of professions, not "same job".

Most of those studies show that women choose lower paying careers, which might be because of social imbalance (ie, discrimination). One study claims that jobs women go into over time become lower paying, implying a discriminatory compensation social view. (I personally think that they ignored the very important changing nature of the job that they used to demonstrate this theory, but it's an interesting idea, nonetheless. )

No study shows "lower pay, same job". It's a great sound bite, but it's a lie.

[–]orcscorper 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's another comment for you: the wage gap isn't real. The wage gap is a lie. Equal pay has been the law for half a century. I know, I know. Not everyone follows the law. Some people illegally underpay women and get away with it. There are not enough examples of this to explain the 77¢ on the dollar, or whatever number feminists throw out, "for the exact same work". The 77¢ figure compares all full-time employees, whether they work 36 hours per week, or 72. Which gender do you think is more likely to put in the longer hours, and why should someone working much shorter hours doing similar work get paid as much?

If feminists want to address the earnings gap, they can focus in why it is that women dominate in 4 of the 5 lowest-earning college majors, and why men dominate in 4 of the 5 highest-earning majors. They could talk about what could be done to get more women in STEM, and why kindergarten teachers get paid so much less than engineers. And some do, but their voices are buried under the lie that women are being robbed of their hard-earned money by patriarchy.

The feminists that matter care not for the truth, because the truth is, Western women have it pretty darn good. And that doesn't sell books or seminars.

Edit: my favorite Karen Straughan (GirlWritesWhat) comment ever.

[–]FrostingsVII 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Let us say stuff it, the wage gap is 100% real. Terrible. Boy, it gets a lot of attention, wouldn't you agree? What's the ratio of men to women dying at work? Do you know?

Do you think perhaps you should wonder why you don't know? Why don't you know? Self declared pursuer of equality with the self given label of moderate feminist.

Every man here could no doubt state a comprehensive list of issues women face. You simply can't exist and not know currently. Do you know what issues men face?

What kind of picture does that paint to you?

The thing that really shits me off is how can feminism be for equality when feminists have no fucking interest in the issues men face? Mmm? How can equality be achieved through utter chosen ignorance? It makes no sense. You can't attempt to gain equality with something you don't have any understanding of. The idea is absurd and a clear direct line to a shit ton of straight up fuck ups.

I'm here from all as well. I read everything that pops up. I have an extremely low opinion of nearly all the single gender dominated subs but I don't think these questions are unreasonable.

[–]Arby01 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is an excellent series of questions. Kudos.

[–]daymi 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The wage gap (as in "a woman doing the same job for the same hours as a man not being paid the same on average because they are a woman") is not real. If it were real, a rational actor would only employ women for his or her firm (because it's cheaper). But that doesn't happen. Just think about it.

This is a general guideline I found in life - better to watch what people do (or in this case not-do), not what they say.

[–]RapeMatters 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've seen comments on here with hundreds of upvotes claiming stuff like the wage gap not being real, and other explicitly anti-FRA stuff.

I mean, the earnings gap is 100% real, and mostly is the result of sexism against men. There may also be a small wage gap (1-3%, depending on the study) that may also be sexism against women.

[–]RapeMatters 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do not understand why promoting fairness for men has to involve dismissing unfairness against women. (And, to be clear, I understand that not all MRAs are like this. But there's a reason why an anti-feminist post gets 100+ upvotes on here)

I might be one of the most antifeminist posters around here, but I'm not dismissing unfairness against women. I'm antifeminist because the feminist movement has, repeatedly, tried to support, protect, and shield from consequences women are rapists and domestic abusers, via dodgy definitions, outright falsehoods, and infantilization of such abusers on the basis of them being female.

I can go into great detail, with links, if you would be interested at all, but it takes some time to make a post like that so I will only do it if you are interested in actually reading it.

I'm not antifeminist because I am unsympathetic towards unfairness women face. I applauded with the new Irish referendum - that was a good thing. I am antifeminist because I see feminism as a major supporter of rapists and domestic abusers who happen to be female, and I'm against that.

[–]Kill_Frosty[🍰] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I agree, but honestly I think the hate comes from a place of retaliation because the community was immediately dismissed on their end as women haters and not equality seekers.

[+]Drewfro666 -8 points-7 points-6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I get why it happens. That doesn't make it reasonable nor helpful, however. Constantly complaining about feminists is exactly how your get your movement dismissed by the general community as just another right-winger sub like /r/incels or /r/The_Donald

Keeping positive and talking about the goals of your movement and the problems they seek to solve is how you gain popularity. But nearly every post I see from this sub that makes it to /r/all (and I get that that is a possibly misleading subgroup) is either centered around feminist- or women-hating or one of the top comments is complaining about feminists and women.

[–]Lethn 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The joke is we've done that and talked about positive thing in society and the retarded comments about this sub being anti-women or anti-feminist still kept coming.

Here's a radical idea, maybe it isn't MRAs that are the problem, I doubt people from /r/all have the self-awareness to realise that though. You guys are just only proving my point by immediately screeching about the sub instead of reading the points that are being made.

[–]Kill_Frosty[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup I agree and usually post the same things on the really bad ones. However nothing you can do about outrage culture. The other side does it as well to be fair.

[–]Fuckoff555 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everytime we have a post that gets to r/all, we get people who post the same thing as you and who asks the same question as you? And honestly it gets tiring to explain why we hate feminism as a movement this much (myself included) everytime a newcomer like you ask why?

So I will try to summarize for you why? Feminism has a lot and a lot of influence and power, at least in the West and in a lot of developed countries. And while this is a good thing because it has effectively helped women get their rights and become equal with men in a lot of fields, it's also a bad thing because with that influence and power, it has effectively labeled every person or organization, that criticize feminism when it goes full on hypocrite mode and hurts men, as misogynists, sexists or rape apologists. Shutting them all down in the process. They even sometimes use force or threats to shut down every one who speaks against them or who point up their hypocrisy, and no one bats an eye. And what do you get then? Some bunch of feminists who hurts men and advocate for female supremacy, with an open field because everyone who dare criticize them is immediately shut down, and they have so much influence and power that they can do so with ease. And the feminists who are supposedly for equality and who are supposedly against those man hating feminists, instead of holding the ones who hurts men accountable, they prefer defending feminism and standing against the people who dare to criticize it, saying the same old shit like ''feminism is for equality between men and women, and those feminazis don't represent feminism''. While all what they are actually doing is shielding them subconsciously, cause all those hypocrite man hating feminists are wreaking havoc in the background because it's them who have all that power that allows them to hurt men and achieve female supremacy as they like.

[+]totallya_russianbot1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

Nice strawman you got there. They talk about twox'ers and feminists, but you read it as "women"? This is why people laugh at you.

[–]letsRoll112 -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Laugh all you'd like, because I made a mistake here. I completely read past the twox part and I am sorry. I do however still believe that he is overgeneralising

[–]Lethn 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Feminists in reality are actually a very tiny category of people largely made up of middle/upper class rich white women who have nothing better to do with their time than harass innocent people about fuck all. That is a fact, not a generalisation, anybody who calls themselves a 'feminist' quickly realises they have absolutely nothing in common with the term and abandon the ideology completely because of how bad these people are.

[–]Ninagram 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists in reality are actually a very tiny category of people largely made up of middle/upper class rich white women who have nothing better to do with their time than harass innocent people about fuck all

I COMPLETELY agree with you.

[–]letsRoll112 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have indeed run into this issue. I'm starting to think you might be right when talking about current mainstream feminism and the internet femists and the like. I guess that feminsm has lost its cause and original ideology. I do hope and believe you support equal rights and such.

[–]Lethn 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can check out my post history, this is why I get so annoyed and pick fights with people who come here from /r/All without bothering to look at the overall sub. They're either completely misinformed idiots ( No offence meant to you, because you're at least making an attempt to talk to people here ) or they're feminists themselves looking to spam and slander this sub because they're scared of how popular it's getting.

The sub is nearing almost 180,000 subs now, so it's no coincidence we're getting brigaded again and I honestly believe there's no political group out there that gets slandered more than MRAs. Some of the shit other individuals have gone through is obviously pretty bad but I've found it remarkable how merely mentioning the word MRA is like mentioning the word Trump left wingers and feminists regard it as some sort of unspeakable term.

The good news is it doesn't matter how much slander goes on from 7 or so posters all ranting at once, it looks like most people are ignoring it and making their own judgements about the sub.

[+]Lethn1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (26 children) | Copy Link

Then go and tell them to stop doing it to men then, I was find it amusing when people come over to this sub to bitch about men doing this but they never ever confront feminists on it.

[–]letsRoll112 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'm not bitching I just meant to point out that you putting all women in the same box is mistake and unhealthy

[–]Lethn 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Women are just as capable of doing bad things as men, that's not controversial, you're just trying to make it out that it is. Also you're deliberately trying to conflate 'feminists' with women, don't do that if you want to be taken seriously.

[–]letsRoll112 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think you're reading me right. All I mean to say is that you shouldn't generalise anyone or anything, and this includes all women too.

Because I was curious at how "Emotional" you would get over it. You proved me right. So I need to thank you.

Take a long hard look in the mirror and think about attacking random strangers on the internet to make you feel better and why you do it.

No. Cause everything I thought about this situation has only proven itself true. You're too emotionally frail to have this discussion. You're a liar if you continue to try having it with other people. I'm sorry man, but with no due respect, your fragility is YOUR problem, not mine. It isn't my responsibility to be "Concerned" with the fact that you're weak.

That's not my job. And I won't take the pay check either. Sorry, but you need to work on getting yourself a little tougher than you currently are. Words aren't hurtful unless you allow them to hurt, and they only way they CAN hurt.....is if you ignore them, when they're true.

Hope ya get better, man.

[–]letsRoll112 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Attacking someone and then saying they are to emotional frail to have a discussion is just straight up dumb. An attack isn't a form of discussion and by attacking me I can tell you that you are the one not ready for a discussion and I am by no means emotionaly frail. If you attack a person and they attack back it's not showing emotional frailty but just a naturak instinct to defend oneselves. Thanks and bye

[–]Macheako[🍰] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Being attacked, then leaving the conversation because you can't "get over" the fact that someone thinks you aren't the bee knees is very characteristic of someone who is.....emotionally frail.

Hell, at what point am I "Attacking you" vs simply "Telling you something negative about yourself"? Like at WHICH POINT am I "attacking" and at which point am I simply filling you in on something you seem wholly ignorant of concerning yourself? Should I not tell you there's a spider crawling up your back cuz then I'm insisiting you're too daft to pay attention to spiders? Should I not tell a child to go in the pool if they're unable to swim?

I said you were pussy whipped. Now, fuck yea you can take that as insulting, but again, WHERE IS THE LINE THAT YOU DRAW WHICH DICTATES MY INTENTION AS THAT OF WANTING TO HARM YOU VS SIMPLY TELLING YOU THAT YOU SUCK?

So you're basically telling me.....I'm not allowed to tell you that you suck.....

You're emotionally frail.

Thanks and bye.

Well I mean. It just kinda makes thid place feel like an anti-woman sub instead of a pro-man sub. I'm not sure if that's the overarching motif of this place as I arrived from r/all.

[–]totallya_russianbot 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Being anti-feminism is NOT equal to being anti-woman. But, sure, keep using that lazy strawman. It's not like we don't see through it every single time.

[+]LB_Burnsy -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I don't get it. That was my first post on this sub and my honest opinion. I'm not trying to start a fight. Why are you so hostile.

[–]totallya_russianbot 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I don't get it. Why do you think being opposed to certain actions of feminists means someone is anti-woman? That seems a lot more hostile than simply not buying someone's bullshit.

Alrighty Mr totally not more hostile than me. Have a good day.

Feminism. When simply using logic is considered "hostile".

[–]TheySeeMeLearnin -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I never come to this sub and it kind of looks like that based on which comments get voted to the top. There is strong prejudicial language in combination with overgeneralization, which is usually a trademark of people being “anti-___” at the minimum (more extreme cases become hate groups).

Not telling you how to run things, though it’s understandable that you have this issue. Every group has similar issues.

[–]Lethn 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not one of you has actually posted quotes of posts that you find objectionable.

[–]TheySeeMeLearnin 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you went back and re-read the top comments and didn't see what I saw, then there is zero room for discussion because we must have completely differing perspectives on women or thresholds of what constitutes a reasonable tone when discussing 50% of the country's population.

They blocked me after I had a long discussion with another user in which they demanded sources, I provided. I demanded sources and they said it's common knowledge that doesn't need a source.

Edit: I just wanted to add that I do not believe it's as big of a "feminist cesspool" as it's repudiated to be. I find many of the users to be open and engaging even if they very much disagree. The mods are absolute crap though. They do a huge disservice to the women and men on twox by acting as if the users need protection from differing opinions.

[–]Phkn-Pharaoh 82 points83 points84 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lmao how typical.

[–]majortom22 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They blocked me over something I said in ANOTHER sub-reddit! I think 2x is often a cesspool, but there are sometimes real posts. And in those posts, I offered genuine, sincere, and constructive comments. You will not -I am fairly certain- find a single negative 2x post of mine. But they didn't like something I said somewhere else, apparently, so....

Its weird how people can't see the blatantly obvious. They censor, they silence, they demean, they stick their heads in the sand, etc so much in general as compared to 'our' side of things. I have no interest in banning anyone from here until they cross the threshold where they're threatening others' well-being. If they want to come and fight, let's rumble.

It's very telling that they want to victory by fiat, not by winning.

[–]PapaLoMein 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Standard feminist tactic. They only demand sources to waste your time. They'll never read them.

[–]myrodia 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They blocked me for saying that Aziz was nearly scummy and weird, and didn't actually assault that girl.

[–]Parker_ 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought it was just known by everybody he didn’t ACTUALLY commit assault in any form and it was nothing more than an awkward sex experience due to IIRC a lot of what she said was contradictory to her own story

[–]myrodia 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not on twoX. They said because she told him to stop, and then he reinitiated he therefore was committing an act without consent.

That was before I knew about the true objective of feminism. I wouldn't have argued with them otherwise.

Same. I was banned after commenting in an abortion thread and asked the mods why I was banned with no response back after months. There was no reason for me to be banned since I didn't break any rules and just proved people wrong for being misguided about how much control women have when it comes to getting pregnant and even offered multiple solutions and educated people on safe sex. I'm guessing they didn't want to admit that I was banned for "wrong think" even though it was beneficial for women to understand that there are more options out there instead of just abortion. I'm for abortion to be legal but it should be a last resort.

Edit: I wanted to add why I was banned.

[–]Fastjur 52 points53 points54 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]unbelievablepeople 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think that might be the dumbest thing that happens on all of Reddit (which is really saying something): You can get banned from one sub just for posting any comment at all in another sub. Several subs will ban you if you post in the Donald Trump sub, which I found out because I posted one comment one time in the Trump sub. I'm not a Trump supporter and actually mentioned in the comment that I didn't vote for him, but there was one particular issue that was being discussed there I wanted to weigh in on. And because of that I'm banned from a couple other subs I used to participate in.

"Recurring BV / Yeast, why does this happen? Btw I weigh 350 lb. and eat twinkies by the case."

[–]LoneKharnivore -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

By law? Which laws exactly?

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Federal US laws VAWA and Title IX punish innocent men, but not innocent women. Women are presumed incapable of committing the crimes men are assumed guilty of. Is that not a legal presumption of superiority? Then there are all the other legal advantages. For the same crimes as men, women are less likely to be arrested, convicted if arrested, sentenced if convicted, sentenced to 60% of the jailtime as men if sentenced, and more likely to get out early for good behavior. Depending on the country and area, men who work with children may be required by law to never be alone with a child. Women by law are given everything in a divorce. More likely to get university assistance, often hired to fill quotas despite not meeting qualifications. Etc.

[–]AndreTheCat16 -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Title IX helps men. When I (a man) got raped it helped me get my racist expelled from my college. I have no idea what you mean by women being incapable of committing some crimes? That’s just idiotic. Don’t take an outlier and pretend it’s the norm.

[–]Arby01 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don’t take an outlier and pretend it’s the norm.

Your situation is the outlier not the person you are replying to. Easily proven by looking at the number of civil suits universities are facing in response to unfairly biased title 9 investigations. This aspect of Title 9 is very harmful to men, that it benefits 1 doesn't undo that.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

T9 disregards due process, or at least did before its reform under the Trump administration (feminists protested said reform). That means no "innocent until proven guilty." And 99% of the time it punishes men, many of whom are innocent of any wrongdoing.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I joked awhile back that if I were ever in charge of robbing a bank the first thing I would do is hire women because they'd all be let out of jail. What's disturbing is ISIS have been quite willing to use women for their attacks these days and it must be because they know the retards who are in charge of prosecutions will go easier on them.

[–]LoneKharnivore 47 points48 points49 points 8 years ago* (31 children) | Copy Link

And the key word in the top one is additional.

[–]Blutarg 56 points57 points58 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Additional" means she was pulled over for drunk driving and tried to lie her way out of it. She is still going to be charged for drunk driving, but not for making a false accusation.

[–]todoke 40 points41 points42 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

She was drunk driving and claimed the cop sexually assaulted her. Without video evidence it would have ruined the guys life. She did not get charged for this false rape claim.

The butt slapper guy should be punished if course. But 1 year in prison? That's over 60k for the tax payers. After that he will have a hard time getting any kind of job, will be probably listed in a sex offender list. So the guys life is fucked and the tax payers will pay for it. A hefty fine would have been enough punishment, provided he isn't some serial offender. While fiminists will claim otherwise, the butt slapped lady will live. Like seriously, let's not act like a butt slap will traumatize a grown ass woman. Like Dave Chappelle said " if that is all it takes to break your spirit, that's a brittle ass spirit".

But going even further. Why the fuck is a butt slapping idiot a news worthy story? They are painting him as a monster. While he surly is an asshole, that all goes way too far.

Do you think this is the only time the butt slapper has done something like this? I'd guess no. And do you think a fine would actually change his behavior going forward? I'm doubtful. Speeding fines don't really stop people from speeding.

[–]todoke 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

but I think it's counterproductive and dangerous to defend this man.

Im not defending him. Im saying 1 year prison is too much, only ruins the mans life and costs the tax payer and society.

Do you think this is the only time the butt slapper has done something like this?

I dont know, and so do you. Lets not pretend we know this guys life.

And do you think a fine would actually change his behavior going forward?

Yes i do. I would never slap someones ass again after a 10.000 $ fine.

[+]-quenton-1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I dont know, and so do you. Lets not pretend we know this guys life.

You say you're not defending him, but you are. You're suggesting this might've been the only he would've ever done something like this, and because of that, he should be given leniency.

The dude waited until his wife went to the bathroom before assaulting the waitress. He knew what he was doing. Of course I don't "know" his life, but I'd say it's pretty likely he's done something like this before. And I'd say it's pretty likely he'd do it again if he wasn't caught.

Yes i do. I would never slap someones ass again after a 10.000 $ fine.

If you were a billionaire, would you feel the same way?

[–]todoke 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You're suggesting this might've been the only he would've ever done something like this, and because of that, he should be given leniency.

Nope. Im saying you get charged for what you did, not what you might have done, not on what is "pretty likely" he has done before or other nonsense.

Of course I don't "know" his life, but I'd say it's pretty likely he's done something like this before.

Luckily the justice system doesn't operate like you think. Im not defending him. Saying "1 year seems fine since he probably did stuff like this before" is insane.

If you were a billionaire, would you feel the same way?

Any other silly unlikely scenario? Also you should know sentences are often give based on how much money you make. If you are rich you get fined according to how much you make so that it really hurts you.

[–]Odonata_Anisoptera -5 points-4 points-3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not to mention that if you have enough money, instating "hefty fines" is essentially the same as creating a simple price to sexually assault women.

[–]todoke 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

no because usually fines are given according how much you make, exactly for the reason you stated. If Mcdonalds fucks up and you get food poisoning you can sue them for millions because McDonalds is so rich, suing them for less wouldn't even register.

[+]Odonata_Anisoptera -9 points-8 points-7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Isn't that still a simple fee? Just because it's more and scales to be "hefty", the end result seems the same. If you can pay, you can do this thing and continue with your life.

I mean, I get what you're saying and why it seems like a punishment, but I'm currently more convinced that it's a purchase if there's no time involved. Time will always be priceless.

[–]Hypno_213 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I fully agree with todoke on this one. I understand where you're coming from, and why you think fines would merely be a purchase. But to carry on what you were saying about "what if you were a billionaire?" well think about the other consequences that follow after sexual assault accusations against anyone with that sort of money. It would get ridiculous media attention (Destroying their reputation) the fine would quite clearly be massive because it's based on the amount they earn (as todoke said) and who would ever hire this "billionaire" to do what ever job their profession entails? That's right, pretty much no one would.

I'm quite skeptical that a year of prison is a fair sentence for someone who patted a waitresses ass. It's completely absurd. Would you support the same sentence for a women who "assaulted" a man? (butt slapping, crotch grabbing etc.)

Edit: Just look at the situation with Morgan freeman; there's no evidence to support the claims against him, and yet his reputation is being torn apart because that media won't shut up about it. His career long reputation is being destroyed because of claims against him that may or may not be either over exaggerated or just completely false.

[–]Huzabee -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Man surprised criminal action carries punishment. More at 11.

Just because a guy decides to do something blatantly stupid and gets over punished for it doesn't mean we have to jump to his defense. He fucked up, but he ruined his own life. Not you, not me, not the waitress, not the judicial system. He fucked up. He knew it was wrong and did it anyway. Fuck 'em. I care about helping real victims. Having your life ruined because of false rape accusation makes you a victim. Slapping a stranger's butt makes you a retard.

[–]stalechips 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]applefrank 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No because no one would have believed.

[–]Copidosoma 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The "additional" charges were those related to the false rape claims.

If you consider an unwanted slap on the butt to be sexual assault (certainly is rude and anti-social but isn't really sexual). then you would have to count a false rape claim as sexual assault too. The consequences of such a claim are far more serious for the person they are directed at than for a slap on the butt.

[+]KralHeroin1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (9 children) | Copy Link

I'm don't think slapping a woman's butt like that is good behaviour, but honestly 'sexual assault' is pushing it...

[–]Rynetx 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Well then you dont know the law. He physically assaulted her by touching her without her permission in a sexual manner. That is sexual assualt. If he had slapped her on the back, shoulder, or arms it would be just assualt and maybe he could have gotten away with it but he wanted to sexuallity demean her by touching her in a private place.

[–]Luchadorgreen 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A year is just absurd for what he did, though. I'd say the same thing if a woman did that to a man.

[–]Rynetx 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm not arguing his sentence just the fact that he committed a sexual assualt. It was up to the judge to decide on that. What if he showed zero remorse for what he did? What if he went through the whole trial thinking what he did wasn't wrong? If he feels he still has the right to assault a woman in a sexual manner then a year might teach him a lesson.

[–]Lethn 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There’s room to say that what she did should be a crime, but be careful comparing it to the guy slapping people’s butts. Certain people will interpret that to mean you’re saying butt-slapping shouldnt be a crime.

How are women being degraded by the OP? Does it say the man shouldn't have been punished and that the woman should have been, or that both should have been? If you're presuming the former, then you're choosing to miss the point. That's not the fault of this subreddit

What bothers me is the majority seem to support punishing false accusers to the same level as the punishment the falsely accused would receive but the justice system would never dare do that for fear of upsetting the radical minority

"This is why I hate modern feminism, at least in the US. A woman can make up a rape allegation with zero proof and ruin a man's life. Then, when it comes out she was full of shit, she gets away with zero punishment. Meanwhile, the man's life is still ruined. Meanwhile, if a man comes forward and says he was raped, he is laughed at and told to go away and stop wasting peoples' time. If there were any justice at all, a rape accusation -- once it is determined it is false -- should carry the same penalties for the accuser as what the accused would have received."

r/news is in the process of swallowing the red pill my dudes

[–]CanadianAsshole1 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes I am an MRA(check my post history) but I should clear up a legal misconception prevalent both here and r/news.

She did not commit a crime technically speaking, because she never made a formal report. You can only be charged with making a false rape claim if you actually reported it to the police. What she did was publicly slander him as a rapist, which is protected under the First Amendment, thus she cannot be arrested for it. I personally agree with this, because I don't think the government should limit speech(making a police report is not "speech").

I agree that she is a cunt, we should spread this story around so that no employer will ever hire her. The guy also has a strong case for a civil lawsuit to seek damages.

[–]smfuel87 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tired of the double standards. Falsely accusing a man of rape is some serious shit. But like everything else, women get a pass when they owe something and given preferential treatment from the simps and social marxists when they are owed something. I avoid women and society at large for the most part now largely because of shit like this. I have a buddy/coworker in jail for "rape", although I really doubt he did anything. He is light hearted and kinda slow mentally, so I think he just couldn't articulate what happened and couldn't defend himself, and the system crucified him.

[+]DoWhatYouWantBB -10 points-9 points-8 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[+]mrducci -10 points-9 points-8 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

The two aren't related. Stop trying to imply that one has something to do with the other. A man put his hands on a woman. Got arrested. Good. A woman, who was being arrested, made a false accusation. Proven false. Done deal. What is the problem?

[–]Tzaimun 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

People who falsely accusate someone should get a sentence, is what i think OP implied

[+]mrducci -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

False accusations happen frequently. There are civil laws that would try to prevent these things, such as slander and defamation, and criminal laws would include perjury if they were under oath when they lied. Putting your hands on someone is against the law. This is an apples and orange Cadillacs situation. Not the same, shouldn't he compared.

[–]Tzaimun 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

How frequent it happens shouldn’t matter. So false accusations are against the law and should have a punishment. I think the comparison was exactly that, both are against the law and both should have a punishment.

[–]mrducci -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

OK....so anyone that levels an accusation that can be determined to be false should have charges brought against them? No. Now, in the case where the the blogger brought claims against the military dude(can't remember specifics, apologies) which ruined his career and cost him something, he was able to file CIVIL charges and get retribution that way. But lying is not explicitly against the law. How you lie, and where you lie, and who you lie to, is

[–]Odz2427 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OK....so anyone that levels an accusation that can be determined to be false should have charges brought against them? No

Yes it should. What the fuck is wrong with you?

[–]Tzaimun 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is not about wether under current law people who falsely accuse should be punished. Do you disagree with me that if someone falsely accuses of another he or she should get punished? It is not any less of a crime if it doesnt fuck someones life up 100% but only slightly?

[–]Odz2427 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A false accusation of rape does FAR more damage to the accused than a single slap on the ass does to the victim.

You’re right about the two not being comparable. A slap on the ass is nothing compared to a false accusation of rape.

[+]mrducci -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You are bullshit. The accusation, in this case, did nothing. Investigation, no findings, no action. Continue on. In other cases, yes....but this is not equal. And violating someone physically is not "nothing" and should always carry consequences. If you don't see that, you and I don't have anything further to discuss.

[–]Odz2427 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know it’s not equal. False accusations are far worse than a slap in the ass.

I didn’t say it was nothing. I said it was nothing compared to falsely accusing someone of rape. A false accusation of rape can ruin a man’s life. A single slap on the ass has never done that to anyone ever. NOT ONE SINGLE TIME.

YOU are bullshit.

[–]Arby01 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Proven false. Done deal. What is the problem?

That you don't see the problem is a very good indication of the problem.

The butt slapped woman will have almost no continuing issues from being slapped. The guy will be punished for it. As you say, good.

The cop could have lost his career and been labeled a dangerous sex offender, the investigation into the video will likely have cost the taxpayers 1000's of dollars. The woman isn't being punished for a crime (false reports to the police are a crime) that is at least as serious as being slapped and, in my opinion, when involving accusations of a sexual nature, far more serious.

Actually it looks like sexual assault is a worse crime than just being a person.

The funny part is that you, yourself, have never been a victim of the system yet feel entitled to disparage the criminal justice system as rigged against white men. That’s hilarious.

I mean, say what you really mean, that you wish your skin color entitled you to commit acts of sexual violence.

[+]evilbobrob1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (13 children) | Copy Link

Here's how i see it

A butt slap incoveniences you for an hour at most. Maybe a day if you're particiularly annoyed.

A false accusation on the other hand can result in 20 years of jail. As adults are responsible for their actions, we can clearly say her intention was to ruin 20 years of his life.

365x20 = 7300 days. That means in a fair system of punishment we should jail the false accuser for 7300 years.

I guess i'm just supposed to use my fee fees instead of math on this? As much as i know, attempted murder is very harshly punished even if it was a complete failure. The most important thing is the intent to kill and future risk of having the murder prone person in society.

Here's how i see it. A butt slap incoveniences you for an hour at most. Maybe a day if you're particiularly annoyed.

Are you a female or a parent of daughters? Do you have any females in your life that you truly care about?

What are you basing this hour/day on? I’m trying to understand your point of view.

Any sexually physical act can traumatize for far longer than a day.

[–]dmgll 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lol no, getting touched once by a stranger for less than one second won't traumatize anyone

[–]Arby01 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Any sexually physical act can traumatize for far longer than a day.

If being (unconsentingly) slapped on the butt has any long lasting trauma, you have psychological issues well beyond the action being punished. Is it an assault, yes. Were you violated, yes. Beyond that, get on with life.

[–]Arby01 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol. You know what, I don't have any. And if you think that is life long trauma, then get buckled in baby, because life is going to hand you defeats, unfairness, death, loss and grief that are going to scar you to the bone. If you can't get over getting slapped on the ass, then you aren't going to make it and no amount of punishing people who assault you is going to save you.

Your position is moronic.

Why does my gender matter? I'm basing it based on an assumption of the amount of harm done. If you think i'm wrong, go on and make your own estimate. Do you think a butt slap traumatizes you for many months?
