The degree to which some gender and race activists today utterly fail to see the ways in which they are espousing sexist and racist ideas with regards to men and whites is a profoundly demonstrative example of the insidious nature of prejudice. People who have studied societal prejudice and are concerned with its effects in certain areas have a tendency to assume they are immune to it, when in actuality, they have failed to learn the most important thing about it: prejudice, by its very nature, is incredibly difficult for its bearer to detect and acknowledge. Anyone who truly understands prejudice and appreciates its effects on both individuals and society has a self-questioning, reflective attitude about their own attitudes, opinions and beliefs. No one is perfect in this regard, but it's really quite amazing—and, as I said, I think quite poignant—how those who profess to be the most concerned with prejudice in our society often fail so miserably in their mission, by putting forth more of it into the world than they take out. Irony scarcely begins to describe it, because while it is ironic from one perspective, from another, it exposes an ugly truth: these people are not actually concerned with prejudice, sexism, and racism, per se—they are simply engaging in identity politics, and seeking a better deal for themselves. This brand of "equality activism" is so transparently self-centered and yet somehow not societally taboo, that it is actually toxic—it does more harm than good, both to the activist and society at large.

The utter arrogance of these people.... I have a hard time thinking of any better illustration of prejudice in the world today. Plenty of other examples exist, but none highlight it's tyrannical effect on the mind so well as this.

Gotta say this kind of special pleading is really a non-starter.

So she claims that white men can't understand the perspectives of people of color, as if that's just a fact, and men can't understand the plight of women, I'm presuming as well. So that's the case, then people of color can't understand white men etc. This is a stalemate and the only escape is the pleading "You should just trust us that what we say is honest." The so called "Listen and Believe" mantra. However this still doesn't solve anything, since the claim is that white men are incapable of understanding, not incapable of believing her. So even if I DID believe her, by her own rules, I would still be incapable of understanding what she was saying, and so we're back the stalemate again.

This reasoning is inherently anti-cooperation, and anti-progress as an extension, as no two groups are said to be capable of communication and understanding.

"You're a white man. You feel the need to talk over me." He let her interrupt him 2-3 times over the course of this clip. To be fair though, calling her opinion "stupid" was possibly a mistake. He could have let her explain her opinion and used that for further debate. Given the average radical feminist though.. it would have been ironically unproductive.

Oh this is gold dust. Just beautiful to watch. Ah the old tactic of trying to cover up a fact by claimingn you aren't doing it, WHILE doing it. Genius level feminist at work, clearly. Being overly emotional is not just about how you day things but also about WHAT you say. Feminist always do this, act like just because they are saying something clearly based on lack of logic or facts but on imbalanced emotions that if they say it in a monotonous tone of voice it can't possibly be caused by emotional imbalances that led them to such crazed views in the first place. Knew I recognized that voice. For those interested, that's Josh Zepps. I know him mainly from his involvement in the Point of Inquiry podcast, a production from the Center for Inquiry. He does a lot of political, science and skepticism interviews and has always come across to me as intelligent, well reasoned, and relatively hard hitting in his interviews in that he doesn't let people wiggle out of a topic or opinion they try to dodge and can usually drive through obfuscation.
