I (26M) want to start off by saying I will do whatever it takes to ensure my kids are taken care of.

The kids' (5F and 3M) mother (26F) is a teacher. She works ~8 months a year and is refusing to get a part-time job during her larger breaks to bring in more money. Winter break I could understand not wanting to work, but having three months off in the summer, not accepting summer school work or getting a part-time job, then complaining about being broke is insane to me.

We split custody 50/50, however, in the state we are in that does not matter. "Equal households" is the name of the game. I am a therapist that works for a hospital for my main income and insurance and work private practice about 20 hours a week on top. I am still able to meet my custody requirements. Right now child support is not owed but she is fighting for it. She is demanding I pay child support now that I am working 60 hours a week instead of getting herself a supplemental job. For a short time after the divorce I was giving her money out of my own free will to help out. She has been proven taken my money and refuse to use it on the kids, using on herself. One example being that I unknowingly paid for a trip for her and her new boyfriend. I quit helping immediately after that, my lawyer has all of the proof for court.

What's the point of working hard and trying to make my home life better for myself and my children if all she is going to do is take my money and use it on herself? At this point I may as well stop the private practice, enjoy my free time, and not add as much to my kids' savings, all so that she doesn't get to take it and spend it on herself.

What do I do?
