In Kentucky I was advised by my attorney to get audio recorder and treat her like a queen. As is I was on big brother 24/7. The one I bought was size of 2 pokerchips stacked. No lights just usb-c port and on and if switch.

I got 5050, no child support kept my benefits she kept hers. Best outcome. Every state is different read laws. I know camera and listening devices are different in most states

Recording audio in a room that she is not present in is wiretapping and is super illegal. Cameras shouldn’t be in any space where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, that is illegal.

oh this sounds familar. My ex put one right in plain sight on top of the fireplace when I work from home so she can spy on me.

If it’s in her exclusive area, you can’t move them. She can’t legally record them without your permission. Also if you’re not allowed in her exclusive area and their are cameras there, there should be now reason that you aren’t allowed to close the door. Just close her door. The cameras are to record her exclusive area, not the public area outside of it.

I’m in Canada which is a one party state. But that one party needs to be present and engaged in that conversation, meaning that one party present gives consent.

What you described cannot be legal (in Canada) and I’d be shocked if it’s legal where you are.

I’d first look into the laws around recorded footage and privacy in your state so you know where you stand legally. Talking to an attorney could also help you understand your options better. At the same time, this also feels like a bigger trust issue within the home, and until that’s addressed, the situation may still remain difficult.
