Just a rant. I’ll try to keep it short. Divorced 3 years now. 2 kids. 15/10. 50/50. Ex wanted the divorce. Cost me a ton. She was SAHM. Got a free house and much more (alimony/CS/etc). I was bitter for a long time but I’m like 99% there now.

For most part we are civil w each other. I try to keep it only about kids ever when we communicate.

Did the whole “go wild thing” for nearly a year after divorce until I met my now GF. I’ve had a GF now almost about 2 yrs. Great gal. Actually 4 yrs older. Big job. Blonde. Blue eyes. Giant cans lol. Smoke show. Grown kids of her own. I got pretty lucky to find her imho.

August 2025 my daughter inadvertently found out about her. Told her mom which I honestly don’t think she cared. By October (1 year mark) I introduced her to kids and now integrated all 4 of us much more and kids love her. I made some other changes with school pick up and other things that basically took control 💯 of my weeks as their mom had been seeing them much more during my weeks, I don’t think ex liked that at all. Basically I established boundaries.

Around that same time I guess ex started seeing her BF (maybe sept ‘25). I first noticed in Dec when there was a truck overnight at old house (school like 200 yds from house so can’t avoid it) come Middle of Jan kids meet him first time. He has a 6 yr old. He’s 34, she’s 47. Ex is pretty fit Latina woman so I always figured she’d find someone just didn’t think that young but whatever. By two or three weeks after my kids meet him my son says their mom’s BF and kid may be moving in by summer. I’m sorry but I sure felt like that was wayyyy fast. So that’s what bothered me initially. Like what man considers moving himself and kid into a women’s house after maybe 6 months? I’ve not yet met dude and didn’t push it and they aren’t moved in yet but soon for sure. To be fair kids say he is nice to them so that’s all I can worry about. I can’t help but think either he’s taking her for a ride or they are both nuts. 🤷 Everything I’ve learned of him doesn’t seem to be a super successful dude but to each their own.

Anyway to the point of all this background, this past weekend my son mentions something about his Mom saying about possibly marrying but in a year or two (I’m sure right after my alimony ends lol) and in this my son says that when he said something about not loving that idea his mom said “don’t you want me to be happy, I finally met my ‘uncle Paul”. For context “Uncle Paul” was her sister’s husband (my brother in law) and he tragically died in 2024. He was a great man and every bit my brother even after the divorce.

So that’s what bothers me. Why say that to your son who loved his uncle a lot too when clearly it’s basically like telling your son that I never loved your father and I basically just picked him because he met some of the boxes!?

I get we are divorced now but that’s just a low blow. I take that as even 20 years ago when we met and 3 yrs later married she was only settling. Sure wish I would’ve known that. We didn’t have the story book marriage always but I sure did a lot for her and our kids. Worked hard. Never laid a finger on her, never ever remotely cheated. Always had new cars. Good vacations. Get this even paid off her 2nd student loan 9 years after marriage ($25k cash to IRS no joke) that she “didn’t realize she had”. Agreed w her staying at home for 13 years to raise kids while I provided an excellent life and even when she decided she didn’t want it anymore left her with more than most people her age had accumulated including a fully paid off house.

Now this fella who may be a decent guy idk comes in after 10 months and is going to play house with my kids in the house I paid for and he is her “Uncle Paul”!!!

I don’t get it. I know I shouldn’t even care or think twice about it but it sure pisses me off. I blame myself too, I got taken for a ride for a long time. I know I’m suppose to be happy because I have my kids and I love them but it still makes me mad.

Anyway, come Feb 2027 let’s see if it’s all still roses when that extra $2k a month stops for them. lol.

Guess that wasn’t that short - thanks for reading.
