I ask my teenage daughter to remember its mothers day and she can make her mother a card if she wants. That is the extent of my courtesy.

I ask my kids what they would like to do as this day no longer has anything to do with me. This year they wanted to buy a card instead of making one and then I told them they each have $5 to pick something out. I let them decide everything as this is their gift to their mom.

Yeah, card and flowers through the kids is exactly right. That's the move for as long as they're young enough that it matters to them.

You're already thinking about this the right way, it's for the kids, not for her. They remember that their dad made sure mom felt acknowledged. That sticks.

I don't do a damn thing. If my kids needed money or a ride to a store.. absolutely i would help them. But youngest is still in school so they make gifts.

I asked my daughter what she was planning and told her I’d help if needed. She bought flowers with her own money and I helped he wrap them up nicely. Yeah, do it for the kids as others have mentioned.

The point is that this is for your kids, not for your ex.

My daughter told me what she wants to get for her mom, and we are going to go get it and she'll give it to her Sunday night when I drop them off.

I have a strong, and continually growing, dislike for my ex but I'm not going to let that interfere with doing right by my daughter.

I genuinely think it’s about your mindset. I do gifts, card, etc. (kid art projects) but I personally think it’s healthy that I promote a healthy push to love their moms.

On a personal note she cheated on me and is pregnant with the affair partner kid so I don’t have to explain my emotions towards their mother. I’m all about promoting positivity when it comes to kiddos.

If I had young kids, I'd probably give them $20 - $50 and let them pick out candy or a few eclairs from a bakery for their mom. It's just as much a gift to the kids as to their mom.

I made a giant gift bag of artwork, old clothes and sentimental items that are going to mom with a card we picked out. It’s important to not ostracize the other parent. Put your best foot forward to set the example “I don’t need to like mom to be kind and respectful to her. She’s still their mom”

You don’t need to celebrate her. It’s good for your kids to celebrate their mom. Flowers and a card are an appropriate way to do that.

It may seem petty, but their mom abandoned them to life a new life with another guy and his kids. I didn't want to buy anything for them, but I did give the kids some money and let them pick it out and mail a card.

For me it’s not about her but about the kids. They should be encouraged to celebrate mothers’ day because it is the right thing to do for them.

I help them get cards and gifts that they want to get and we always arrange the schedule so the kids are with her on Mother’s Day and with me on Father’s Day.

I don’t acknowledge it. My circumstances require it. Holidays were used against me in marriage. And last Father’s Day she used it to abduct my kids. So I don’t do anything.

My seven year old made a paper and tape Mothers Day gift that he wants to send but he did it on his own.
