She is likely traumabonded and isn't that just some shit. Women, collectively- stop supporting other women in their abuse and help them to move forward from their abusive situations. This is not cute or endearing AT ALL.

From personal experience suffering from trauma/PTSD and depression (likely un-diagnosed BDP) I have the most amazing boyfriend who supports and loves me, and I dont even have to say when I feel down, HE JUST NOTICES IT, BY HIMSELF and does everything to support. Like I had a week where I was drained and just a mess, he took care of everything- cooking, cleaning, shopping. and he didn't complain ONCE about it. His first questions is always; what can I do to help you.

DONT SETTLE FOR LESS.

What in the fucking hell???? I have a boyfriend and have never said out loud “I am depressed” to him.

Why?

Because he is so amazingly good at paying attention to me, my body language and signals and always picks up on the slightest change in my behavior. So I don’t need to tell him anything about being depressed, he always comes to me with “Are you feeling okay right now/Is anything weighing on your mind/You seem down, what can I do to help/I can’t have you be sad if there’s anything that could be done”

That's terrible. My ex-bf, LV as he was (although a good person), was the one who helped me realize I was depressed, always pushed me to get treatment and never once complained that I was "annoying" or other things men use to say to their depressed girlfriends/wives. I thought it was the bare minimum.

I remember a situation about two years ago where something had happened that really made me concerned and anxious. I called my mom and my boyfriend. My boyfriend laughed and said I was overreacting then just went awkwardly silent when it was obvious I was still upset.

My mom was comforting and supportive on the phone. 30 minutes later she showed up at my front door because she was worried about me and wanted to check I was okay. My boyfriend? Fucking crickets.

I confessed to my ex about my hardship with depression and suicide...

He responded by telling me that it’s okay, it won’t bother him, after all... he has an ex wife and three daughters, so don’t worry he’ll be able to “handle me”.

It was so disheartening.

Here I was being vulnerable and sharing a deep dark secret and he brushes it off as nothing more than lady hormones.

Instead of having a deep connective discussion, he took one of the most defining parts of my life and acted like it was nothing.
