Anyone else notice that men are slowly making the word “porn” a synonym for “obsession”? I’m seeing in everywhere .. “food porn”, “word porn” and now “cabin porn”? How can we call this depravity out, and STOP IT?!

A couple of years ago a 30-something neckbeard housemate tried to tell me, as well as people online, that "porn" didn't originally refer to sex. I suggested he check his dictionary, and he was surprised to find he was wrong.

Yes, hate it too! Another thing is calling things 'sexy' that have no sexual components to it whatsoever. Like new features or designs. I just hate how normalised it became and it always makes me uncomfortable when people use such terms.

My ex and I watched a kids’ cartoon once that featured really positive, healthy relationship dynamics. Good parent-child relationships, healthy friendships, respect in general. The main character was an elementary school girl.

He called it “relationship porn.”

He said, “aww yeah, that’s the good shit right there.”

He was HUGELY offended when I called him on it. I said it was a clear example of the pornification of everyday life. His response? I was a horrible prude and everyday life isn’t pornified at all.

FML. Why are men so depraved.

Marks and Spencer's were selling a Pornstar Martini and feminist groups got them to change the name to passionfruit martini. I think they did a lot over social media too.
