For real. Make up your fucking minds.

Well let’s just cut the crap, what they really, basically want to say is: “Let me fuck you as much as I want and then spit on you as I walk away.. And don’t be upset about it!”

I wish they would just admit that's what they mean instead of trying to find weaselly ways to frame it as if they're being logical.
[–]myousernameRuthless Strategist[S] 34 points35 points36 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That would defeat the purpose because then it would be much harder to manipulate you!

If they did, fewer women would fall for it. Maybe none. They have to lie if they want any chance at gratifying their sad stick with our bodies

The funny thing is that when women finally realize this double standard and go, "oh okay, so men just want to continue to freely exploit and abuse women and not face any consequences"
Then they go "MISANDRY! THIS IS HATE SPEECH AGAINST MEN! YOU'RE GENERALIZING US!"

They just want to blame women.

My new counselor told me "how it was my fault for letting him in my life" after I gave a brief rundown of my past relationship. I then told her he would "accidently" hurt me during intimate moments, and then deny it with a lame excuse. 5-6xs. She said, "I've never heard of people doing that."
As if I would make it up.
Anyway, I'm still trying working on cutting worthless people put of my life, but it was a no-brainer to stop paying $100 a session to get put down like that. Mysogeny comes in all forms from all people, ya'll.

You should report that to wherever that counselor works, I'd light a fire under their ass. I've been to counseling lots and that is some no no shit.

Wtf. Your counselor sounds like a naive idiot.
Personally I was so fortunate to find a therapist who specializes in childhood trauma and who is also friendly to radical feminism. I've been having a lot of breakthroughs with her these past few months, and my mental health has been improving by leaps and bounds.
Although I had to go through like eight different therapists over the years to find the right one. Not all therapists are trained to help trauma patients.

And some therapists are just straight up assholes as people... like my ex for example! 😂

Wow, thanks for all the support ladies! This was my first time seeing a counselor, so it is disappointing it wasn't the success story I was hoping it to be. Plus, the initial "meet and greet" session was $200 (I went 2xs) 🙄
However, I congratulate myself for making that first step, for recognizing her gaslighting immediately, understanding I was not at fault in the situation, and for not giving in to the sunk-cost fallacy and refusing to return! (FDS SUCCESS STORY!!)
Any tips on how to choose a counselor? I noticed that most counselors don't have websites, and the best you can rely on is scant Google reviews..

Look for a psychodynamic psychotherapist, specialising in trauma and with some years of experience.

I'm so sorry that was your first experience with therapy. I've been in and out for years, and have seen five different therapists over my life, and while I clicked more or less with some, absolutely none of them have been invalidating. It's natural to vibe differently with different people, just like dating, just like making friends, so keep that in mind while seeking a therapist. You unfortunately had a really bad experience with your first one, but it's not terribly uncommon to go through multiple counselors before you find one you feel comfortable with.
If you have insurance, you should be able to call the number on your card and they'll provide a list of people in network. I'd also recommend looking on the website psychology today. While they might not have individual websites, most will have quick bios on there. Read through them and see if any catch your eye. They all have different specialties, so it really depends what you are wanting to work on.

Sounds like somebody play-acting at being a counselor. What a waste of time and breath for you.
[–]dembar126FDS Newbie 17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How in the hell did that person get a degree?
[–]IgetUsernameScrapsFDS Newbie 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Victim blaming is a good sign of a shitty person. And denying your experience? Why is this person a counselor? 😒
[–]petit_rougeFDS Newbie 72 points73 points74 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
See the trick is that they want women to be wrong regardless of what we choose
[–]phoebalognaThrowaway Account 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Double edged sword and both points are women are stupid or picky, there is no winning
[–]devoushkaFDS Newbie 60 points61 points62 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The only winning move is not to play.
[–]faux_naturaleFDS Newbie 34 points35 points36 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But they get so angry when you opt out 😂

lol reminds me of my lvm ex saying "women need to lower their standards and go with the flow" and I was a pickme and was accepting all his low efforts, and he just kept getting lousier to the point he stood me up- and I left him pretty quickly.
its like they find pickmes with low enough standards already and still want them to lower the bar even further

What they mean is “it’s your fault for letting him abuse you! You should be letting ME abuse you instead!”
