I’ve been talking to this guy who seemed cool, we have a lot of similar goals and he seemed really excited to meet but we both work like 60+ hours a week. I actually had a night free but he was supposed to work late. He got off early and asked if I wanted to get dinner. I texted him FOUR MINUTES LATER and said yes but that I needed to shower and get ready. He said “when? If I get home I’m not leaving.” So I said, “I’m going to shower now”. He asked me to call him but I was already in the shower. I called him 8 minutes after he texted (I shower fast) and he called me and was like “I’m already home so I’m not leaving”.

I got confused because he’s repeatedly expressed excitement about meeting and getting to know me, so the fact that he was so quick to write me off was disorienting. In the past, the pathetic pushover in me would have apologized profusely, begged him to change his mind, or offer to meet him at his house (which I already told him I don’t do on the first date).

So I did what all of us Queens should do and said, “okay, goodnight” and hung up. Then I deleted him off the app, deleted him on WhatsApp and our text threads. The emotional people pleaser will want to text him and try and “understand what happened” but I know what happened. He disrespected me and I have nothing more to learn or gain from someone like that. If I contact him it will be for validation or to relinquish my power and neither things are how I operate anymore.

So: if he acts like an ass, delete him. Deleted him from everything. He ain’t shit.
