It’s sooo funny- A few guys blew their gaskets at PPD and one started a thread calling FDS a circlejerk group demanding $700 dinners and not discussing how to be attractive to men.

The mods there have tried to limit anti FDS rants but seems every guy there needs to shame our “proper date not coffee/ man pays, duh” standards like punching a clock at a job.

It’s funny because when I discuss with topic with the men in life (family/friends) all of them laugh and tell me paying for a woman’s dinner on a date is literal no-brainer tier chivalry. I tell them men online cry about it and their responses are always confused. It’s basic Courtship 101. These men must be ultra feminine, because a masculine man has no issues taking care of a woman. Stinginess is so unattractive.

Just posted this in a response to someone on another thread, but here goes:

I was leery about this too because it was drilled into my head that men would expect something from me just because they pay. However, in practice I found this to almost never true; it’s only the really low value men who would want to split the bill; the men who insisted paying for my dinner were much more interested in dating me than anyone who insisted on splitting. Actually, the more adamant they were about treating me to dinner, the way their parents taught them, the more serious they were about dating me and treating me right, the way their parents taught them.

(This includes my now fiancé, who only begrudgingly let me contribute to the food/grocery budget when we moved in together and still pays the bulk of it.)
