I finished my psychology degree and this was actually one of the first things I learned. My outlook on marriage changed since then. When I was in my teens I didn’t believe that most women are unhappy with their relationships/have subpar ones but now I see it’s true. I do still want to get married I think, but it’s really important for the marriage to be with an extremely high value man so that I don’t end up like this statistic.

My aunt told me the other day to hurry up and get remarried (I’m not even divorced yet lol, still separated) and I was like ???? Why would I want that??? I gave her these stats and and a lot of points that FDS has helped me communicate more clearly. Ended up having a pretty good discussion with her.

Women are brainwashed into bouncing between two states - fearful and anxious lonliness and the fear and anxiety of being with a man.

We'll never get rest and peace until we turn lonliness into solitude, but it takes a mountain of deprogramming and grieving the idea of romance that's shoved down our throats. It's hard, painful work but I do believe it's the path to a satisfied life for women (unless you win the lottery and meet a HVM, but a lifetime of vetting doesn't sound peaceful to me).

I won't let this be me. I refuse to settle for a man who doesn't do his share of household chores. I think marriage with the right person could be a wonderful thing but I'm not gonna desperately chase men just because of that. I'll live my life until it happens if it does
