I used to get this crap with the guys I work with. "Oh, pleeease help me write this letter to the customer, you're so good with words and stuff." Killed that really quick by using alllll of the big words I knew to the point where the guys who wanted "help" with the letters didn't know what was being said.

When it came to vocabulary, they came to a gun fight with a plastic spoon.

I feel you. My ex was so used to me writing his essays that he even asked me to write his graduate diploma thesis. I explained that I can't do that, and he whined and whined to the point he even asked me how much I wanted.

This shit is INCREDIBLY common. An overwhelming number of Nobel Prize winners were "aided" by their wives, i.e. their wives did at least 50% of the work only for the men to get all the credit. This is present in every facet of our society, from science to entertainment. For example, George Lucas' ex wife (Marcia Lucas) is singlehandedly responsible for the success of Star Wars. She did win an Academy Award for her film editing but her contribution ran so much deeper than that. She prevented George from butchering the story. She is the reason why there's a marked difference between the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy. Yet the average Star Wars nerd doesn't even know her name.

Women MUST stop doing unpaid and uncredited work for men. We built society as we know it today and get zero recognition for it.

Man, this hits. Pre FDS, I more or less wrote my ex's essays. He had the spelling, sentence structure and vernacular of a 10 year old. God, it's disgusting in hindsight. This, was on top of my own class work. (Edit: a typo)

In fact, one of the things he wanted and put on the table to get me back after we broke up, was to be his tutor in any class he took next for college. Second chances, wanted to be friends, and I'm guessing, have his bangmaid mommy back and also be his tutor. 🙄🤢🤮🤬

Yeah, I peaced the eff out of there.

A year ago I dated a PhD student in the local university where I live. When we met I had just finished my MSc in a similar subject so naturally I was interested in his research. However after a month he was asking me to help with lab work and review his writing!! It was hard to refuse because I’m a “helper” by nature but it was so soon after meeting and by then I had figured out he wasn’t cut out to be in a PhD program anyways 😂

saving this to send to my coworker next time he expects me to help him come up with texts, even tho writing isn't part of my job at all.

he always pulls the "but you're better at it/thats' teamwork blah".

sometimes I end up doing it cause it takes me just 1 minute and it's easier than to argue with him, but I want to apply FDS to my work so I shouldn't help a man who earns more than me, especially if he uses manipulative arguments.

Oh God, I felt that. I'm a linguist. Constantly trying to get me to translate shit for them and read over things, but then trying to criticise me for my work and never. NEVER. even once did they look over MY essays in return. But guess whos a Masters student now! Pathetic.

I wrote the cv, application letter and all the things he should say in the job interview for my ex fiancé (he got the job).

My rebound wanted me to write everything for his start-up. I did the whole website, but when I found out that 90% of the work was done by me, I didn’t feel like it anymore. He only worked 20 hours a week, so he could ‘focus on his company’, but I ended up writing his shit in the car to my dads funeral? No f-ing way dude.

I used to write resumes and apply for jobs for the scrote. Hanging head in shame.

One time I wrote an entire project plan for a class he was taking. He didn't even use 99% of it . Someone else in the group, a woman of course, wrote the plan. He just took a small section of what I'd written and pasted it in the one she wrote.

Yes, we're divorced now.

Omfg I'm a professional writer (technical writer for engineers) and this is literally my whole life with my family trying to get me to write shit for them. They dont seem to understand its a skill you have to pay for
