🤷🏻♀️This was pre-FDS days. He and I had agreed that we were not going to be serious. I guess I’m going to assume that he was lying to me about his age. He claimed to be in his early 20s but was probably older than that and closer to my age (I’m in my 30s)

They are. Also, men get off on keeping secrets as a power play. My ex shaved 8 years off his age. Delusional dumb ass. He also had a hangup in which he couldn't resist berating gorgeous actresses over 40. He was projecting his ass off. I'm proud I can't remember his b-day. Then again, he might have never disclosed it. My mind can't make me remember.

My situationship LVM used to always talk about age. I once even told him that I hated when older men would lie to me about their age. I also confessed to him that I avoided dating younger men and that it took years and a whole bunch of people trying to convince me to give younger guys a chance. He told me that his mother would tease him and say “don’t date pervy old women” and how he would never settle down with an older woman but said having one as a girlfriend is fine but not to settle down with. He was also the one who swiped right on me first and one of the first questions he asked me was “my age doesn’t bother you?” His profile claimed that he was in his early to mid 20s.
Two days before we met, he said he didn’t want it to be serious and I suspected he changed his mind after we met in person because he was doing way too much for someone who said they didn’t want an older woman. I was also the one who rejected him in 5 different ways in the beginning and even at the end of our thing, I was the one who invited him to end it.
I don’t take all this effort on his part to reflect an interest but I think he pretended to be younger than he was and had to keep the lie up because it was spectacularly backfiring on him.

If a guy completely screws you over, but you don't know where he's from or anything about it, then what are you going to do?
We need to stop assuming it's because they look up to us, or hold us in high esteem.
Being egotistical about why men lie to us is a surefire way to fall victim to their bullcrap - only because we'll believe them when they charm their way out of it.

I stopped talking to him awhile ago but I found it really weird that he wasn’t so forthcoming. It was a very nonchalant, passing question and he was guarded about it. He also talked a lot about age and I had wondered if he actually lied to me about his age. He’s already younger than I am (or so I believe). Most guys would be like “December 8, why?” (Not his birthday) but he stuck out because he was evasive

Men are so weird about birthdays. They ALL say they don’t care about them and don’t want to mark the day at all, some won’t tell you when it is, and many of them are passive aggressive assholes at other people’s birthdays. Pretty much all of the worst behavior I’ve experienced from men I’ve dated has been on my birthday. I dated one guy for a couple of years and he lied about the date. They are so strange.
