I can’t remember what the term for this is, but narcissists do that thing where they hype your expectations up (constantly mentioning how he’s saving up for that ring) and then when the time comes for it they start to slowly take it away. It’s a way to devalue you. And they do it on purpose.

This is where wanting to get married just so you can say you're married and feel like you were picked gets you. I know y'all don't need to be told, but it's not a crime to want a piece of jewelry you're going to wear for the rest of your life to not be garbage. That's not to say there aren't beautiful rings that go for less, because I fell in love with my $300 ring over ones that were far more expensive, but that's not even what's happening here. He's showing her things she hates so he's not listening and he doesn't care.

One of the worst parts for me is he's picking a console that's still overpriced, has almost no decent games (that couldn't be played on something else), and is going to be old in like 5 years over something that his future spouse that he supposedly loves could wear and enjoy for life? She needs to leave and also probably reevaluate her friendship which will just keep shaming her for wanting to feel special. Marriage really is more than the engagement and wedding, but it's also a great way to see how much your partner is going to value your wants and needs.

Let the pickmes get their ring pop engagement and have their scrote show up to the wedding in a dirty t-shirt and shorts, a man that loves and values you would not do this. Wonder why his first marriage didn't work out? 🤔
