He's not your responsibility. Would he do the same for you? I seriously doubt it.
[–]ChiLady82 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
💯 Not your responsibility sis. Ignore block and delete.. he's looking to take advantage of your kindness. F that!!!!

Dump him. "Somewhat" is not good enough for anything.
[–]detectivejuiceeFDS Newbie42 points43 points44 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I feel like you answered your own question.
[–]Firefly10886FDS Disciple9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes. If he was bad before he’ll be crazy now. This whole situation is going to bring people who were already a bit unstable under the best of circumstances to the brink of insanity. OP needs to think of her safety.
[–]miz_nycFDS Newbie26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
You claim you know he doesn't deserve your attention and yet you still give him attention?
Are you sure it's him you're worried about being alone or yourself? I'm seeing a lot of women (here and irl) who live alone and they keep making up reasons why they need to contact a trash LVM because they're "worried" about him. Ask yourself honestly, is the only reason you're contacting him because you're afraid of being alone?

He’s not a Chihuahua.
[–]miz_nycFDS Newbie9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How is him being "really anxious" your problem?
I'm sure he has friends, family, etc. If you want to take on the burden of being there for him, even tho you KNOW he's not worth your attention that's fine but own it and realize you're most likely going to be used and that's not on him. That's on you for allowing yourself to be used. We all have choices and sometimes we women tend to make the choice that doesn't benefit us in no way. I couldn't do it.
[–]EclecticBarbarellaFDS Apprentice8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed. Grown ass man can handle being alone for a few days.
[–]traditshFDS Disciple5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm genuinely worried about the guy cause he seemed really anxious
It kind of sounds like he deliberately got into your head to manipulate you. He's a grown ass man. Why do you want to mommy him so badly?
[–]ShieldMaidenLagerthaFDS Apprentice22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Omg. No! He wants a hole to nut in and someone cooking for him. What is he bringing to the table?! What supplies, what skills?! Could you deal with being stuck with him for a month or more? What if these 2 weeks are just the beginning? Can your supplies handle another person mooching off them?
[+][deleted] -23 points-22 points-21 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
There are two options: either he stays at my place the whole time, in this case he'd just bring all the food he bought, or he just comes every day / several times a week (it's only a 3min walk so the likeliness of him getting a fine is low, he can also pretend he gets food).
[–]Firefly10886FDS Disciple21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Girl. There are 3 options. And one of them is to not give a fuck about this soon to be basket case of a man. He’s not your problem, but it sounds like you are attracted to instability and desperation so if you’re that much of a captain- save-a-scrote then go for it. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
EDIT: after reading more of your responses I’m thinking it is actually you who is lonely and you’re using him as an excuse. You’re acting like a true pickmesha. There are plenty of other lonely people out there because of this, some who aren’t even receiving a paycheck anymore. Are you feeling bad for them? They are the ones who need your sympathy, not this man child who depends on others for support. You just enjoy being wanted/needed by him now, as you yourself have lost your purpose. Level the fuck up!

This is the kind of straight talk I like to hear. Thanks for not mincing words.
If the house is on fire you yell FIRE GTFO! You don't lollygag around.
[–]ShieldMaidenLagerthaFDS Apprentice4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah but he probably bought dumb shit that doesn’t last or can’t be used to make anything good. I would 100% not let anyone come and go. That’s not safe for you or your roommate!

Quarantine fines are $2000 in some places. I don’t know how much the fines are where you live, but are you willing to lose your hard earned money to help an LVM with his fee fees? Would he reimburse you for the cost? Block and forget him.
[+][deleted] -19 points-18 points-17 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Quarantine fine isn't that expensive here. Worse case, I can easily pretend I'm going grocery shopping, and his apartment to line is a mere 3 minute walk. Not sure he'd reimburse, I think he would ...

Do you hear yourself? After typing this out and re-reading, do you see a problem here?

I refuse to believe OP is serious. I’m suspicious this is a bored dude trolling this sub.

Uh, is he your SPOUSE?
This is a man who has made a conscious active choice to be single. A bachelor. Not committed.
Let him be quarantined single. Why are you trying to give his lonely ass the perk and benefit of togetherness?

OP I’ve read through your posting history. You aren’t even pretending to follow FDS philosophies. Not in this forum, and not any other forums. I wish you peace but I’m not going to waste my energy on any woman determined to remain a Pickme.
This is a reminder, ladies, that the influx in traffic here will continue to bring people who don’t read the materials and aren’t interested in adopting the principles. Can’t help those who won’t help themselves.
[–][deleted] 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't want to do it.
So don't. You are allowed to give yourself permission not to do things going forward.
[–]SoulsaltsFDS Apprentice15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If it's making you feel guilty that he will have to spend time alone, just reframe it in your mind. Like so:
This is a tremendous opportunity for him. He will be alone with himself for weeks, probably for the first time in his life, and he can use this opportunity to learn some truths about himself.
If he doesn't enjoy his own company, it's likely because he has a dirty conscience. With no one to distract and appease him, he may actually realize that he is a LVM, and he may realize that that's not what he really wants to be.
This will be a time of great introspection, for him and for all of us. Please don't get in the way of his spiritual journey.
Maybe yes. Still, I feel like a month alone in a tiny apartment is very depressing
[–]PuzzleYumFDS Newbie9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I live alone too. If I get lonely? There is always Skype, the phone, reddit, discord, email, the phone, zoom, the phone. We're not living in the dark ages here. Stop caring.
[–]SoulsaltsFDS Apprentice10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depression can be constructive. I speak from experience.

lmao @ "quarantine together" the new netflix and chill! gross
and no absolutely not lvm are energy sucking vampires don't give yourself away girl mommy can come and keep him company if he's scared like seriously.... come on
[–]SarcasmSlideFDS Disciple21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If he’s a selfish LVM why would you feel bad for him? Because he has to be a big boy and fend for himself for 2 whole weeks? Your socialization is showing.
[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm still friend with him, that's why I feel bad, I feel like I'm letting him down
[–]SarcasmSlideFDS Disciple15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
OP you’re giving a lot of defenses and reasoning in service to the wants and needs of a LVM who doesn’t respect you. I recommend you read up on FDS principles again and take the advice you’ve received here.
I’ll say again: your socialization is showing. These are not FDS-aligned actions you’re trying to convince us you should take.
[–]Adela-SiobhanFDS Newbie10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If he’s scared of being alone, he’ll be reaching out to others as well. Let him. Maybe one of his buddies will allow him at his place where they can be platonic and bond as bros in the man cave.
[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Alright girls, I heard you. He won't be allowed in my apartment. I won't let him make me feel bad for leaving him alone. I know I'll still feel guilt because we are still friends, but it's not the end of the world. I'll just toughen up and stand my ground. Thank for the advice you all, I needed a reminder to not have too much empathy towards someone who doesn't deserve it. Stay safe!
[–]Adela-SiobhanFDS Newbie6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
And don’t go to his place. Or another place with him. Ignore texts that aren’t business related. If he calls, have him leave a message and get back to him when it is convenient for you.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, going to his place was never an option. I'm not leaving my roommate alone for him (and for anyone)

Haha, thanks for checking on me. Yes, I kept my word and haven't seen him. He suggested that I come see him a few times, or see him outside and go for a jog. I said no each time, and I try to keep our conversations to the minimum. I think he's fine, I'm also checking on other friends who are quarantined on their own and they seem fine too.
[–]AyemHerselfRuthless Strategist8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's his fault he's alone. And he wouldn't be considering spending this much time with you without the quarantine as an excuse.
Don't pick your ex over yourself and roommate.
[–]gursky0FDS Apprentice8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t do it, don’t risk your health or the fine. You have no obligation to him, so don’t worry about him. Also, being alone isn’t that hard.
[–]jmaydizzleFDS Apprentice6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There’s a reason he’s alone in the first place.
Do not give in. He’s not a child he should be able to entertain himself! And if he can’t, he’s low value and shit and you should not be his saviour
Read the handbook before posting next time. :) All of our advice is going to line up with it. Our advice will never not line up with the handbook.
Read the handbook.
