This really feels like projection and wish fulfillment. By 37, women are wiser, more mature and experienced, they don't take shit from low value men.

That's one of the reasons why low value men, who are 30 +, prey on women in their teens and twenties. They are easier to manipulate.

This is what men like Seth MacFarlane wish older women were like because then they would have a chance with them. It’s funny, shows like family Guy make all these jokes about how “undesirable women” are desperate but apparently they aren’t desperate enough to settle for you. I was watching this awesome episode of Cold Case the other day about this woman who was an alcoholic. I think it was incredibly accurate because it showed how her wanna-be sponsor was just a predator of a man who been kicked out of all the legitimate AA groups for trying to prey on vulnerable women. Anyhow she calls him one night and asks for a ride home after she’s been on a bender. Two men have already tried to assault her that night because she’s vulnerable as a woman an alcoholic on the street. Her sponsor pulls up and is clearly trying to get her in bed and she says with such disgust, “I’m so drunk I can’t even see straight. I whored myself for bourbon tonight and I still wouldn’t touch you.”

I love this hilarious stereotype that older women are desperate and easy to impress bc the truth is we get increasingly savvy and insightful with age. Also we get more established as we age. I love shooting down the incorrect assumption that I am dying to be partnered bc Im over 30. I can see more clearly than ever that my life is full and whole whether or not I have a man in it.

The irony is, it's not even 37 year old women exhibiting this behavior. It's girls and women in their teens/20s thinking they're doing something empowering.

Also totally some LVM wrote this as a revenge fantasy for the blonde woman who probably rejected him in highschool.

I've always hated Family Guy. I agree, we shouldn't be like this character, but the fact that FG made this into a joke annoys me.

Family Guy is the ultimate example of low value, low-brow humor designed for the lowest common denominator of society. Every guy I’ve ever known who thought Family Guy was funny was an uneducated idiot. I consider it a massive red flag if a guy likes this show.

OK, I confess I laugh at this, a lot. Now, this is comedy: they take a situation and take it to the extreme to make a point. I do think that "society", tend to have this image of what unmarried women at late thirties should be: wanting a kid by any means necessary, because "the clock is ticking"; in other words, is not a woman, but a social construct. Now, by taking it to the extreme (the ex con, murderer with no money, no prospects, a terrible human, etc.) they show very effectively the absurdity of any woman willing to compromise to fit into the "social construct". That is one of the roles of comedy, I think: to put a twisted mirror in front of an aspect of society so you can see clearly the hipocrecy and absurdity. So, yes I laugh, it was not the most sofisticated joke in the world, but it was spot on.
