Nevermind how those aren’t given in already legal jobs, they can’t be given to sex workers because of level of deception that’s found in this industry, all the “blurry lines”. I would like to hop on the part where they mention that most sex workers are forced into it through trafficking or simply don’t want to do it. Because that’s a very important part that is often glossed over.

Libfems always talk about the sex worker who LOVES her job and finds it empowering (🙄). No that girl isn’t real, the only reason why they take the job is because it puts food on the table and we live in a society where women are constantly told that sex work is this glamorous thing that’ll make you money. Our entire society is fixated on women’s bodies and how they serve the male ego. We’re told taught that being attractive to men makes us powerful. Libfems are so deluded for thinking that sex work is somehow a feminist movement that takes down “the man”. Like, no, it’s just catering to him.

My favorite counter to the "sex work is work" argument is to follow it to the logical conclusion. If 'sex work' is like any other kind of labor you hire out for, then it doesn't matter who's performing the service, right? A blowjob from an 18 year old girl and a 62 year old man should be the exact same thing for these guys since they're only purchasing the blowjob, right? And the older the sex workers get, the more they get paid for their seniority and skills, right? And all OSHA guidelines are being followed at all times to avoid the transmission of bodily fluids, right?

It all falls apart when you try to look at the 'sex industry' like any other industry.

Ask a male laborer whether he'd like to change his profession to one that makes him get his ass creampied by some smegma covered, hairy, smelly men they don't find attractive, and then have to listen while said man cries on his shoulder because he cheated on his wife... how many men find that job appealing? It would be absolutely impossible for any type of prostitution to be held to OSHA standards.

Therefore, it can never actually be a legitimate job just like every other job.

The hardest thing a man can do on a coal site is drill ( with the help of machinary) or drive a big truck. They have occupational health and safety standards and the industry pays them VERY WELL - over 150k a year - yep even as a truck driver in remote regions. Yeah, and all those libfems who say in response that they just want to make it legal and monitored so it's safe don't think about the fact that in a legit business, you're not supposed to discriminate against customers based on sex, race, genes, etc yet so if sex work is just regular work, are prostitutes going to get sued by male family members for refusing to sleep with them? Also, condoms DO NOT protect against all diseases. Nurses are exposed to tons of awful diseases in the course of their work, but they don't have to do it naked. They get to suit up their entire body if needed. And their clients aren't sticking body parts inside them. Also, if SWIW then rape is just unpaid labor, and we ALL know it is far worse and more violating than that. I could go on and on, but people who advocate for legalizing sex work instead of advocating for jailing all johns are people of weak moral character who either are sadistic or simply selfish in wanting to offload danger onto others.

As an ex prostituted woman, I know that part of it is prostituted women ourselves defending this stuff and buying into the libfem BS, actually brainwashing ourselves into believing these narratives that sex “work is work/empowering”, because it’s a narrative that mentally feels a helluva lot better than “I’m being sexually exploited”.

I was so desperate to get rid of/push down the disgusting feelings, I would romanticize what I was doing - by constantly watching pro prostitution media, “diary of a call girl” on Starz was a favorite of mine, it really normalized and glamorized things, which it makes me so pissed that they have a whole new series for a new generation of young women “the girlfriend experience”... Yeah sex work isn’t the same as flipping burgers, office work or diagnosing patients with a mild cold. It just isn’t- which is why it’s frowned upon. There’s no riskier job for a woman really - if you’re dealing with several rando male ‘customers’ a day on an extremely intimate basis...you’re bound to run into a bad egg rather quickly. And frequently.

It's true that women do indeed sell services rather than their body, which means they don't lose value or body parts as a direct result of selling their services. But - due to the social stigma, they do in fact lose value for selling their services. And they lose quality of life in a much more rapid speed than any other kind of work. They may even lose body parts as results of abuse or accidents in the field (but so do coal miners). So really, either if we view it as actually selling themselves part by part or as "just selling a service", noone can argue against the fact that it has to be the most corrupt, unsafe and abusive "workplace" there is. All kind of work that kill the workers in the pace like that should be replaced by machines, there's no denying that. We should work towards getting humans out of the industry, and if we must, get machines in.
