I didn’t get c cups until eighth grade, so about 13. But I always had a very curvy behind. I just got used to the boys in my grade grabbing me. One boy did this to me and a male teacher saw it. The teacher asked me if he had grabbed me while everyone was in the hallway. I was so embarrassed at the attention, but I said “yeah”. The boy got suspended for three days, but word got around to his twin sister that I “ratted” on him. She waited until I went to the restroom and got three girls to gang up on me in there. I hate it because that taught me a lesson at a young age about speaking up. I am in my 30s and I’m still trying to unlearn that lesson. I have since taken fighting classes, and carry around protection. But part of me is always worried that I will get backlash for defending my boundaries.

I had C's as a 10 yo, and I was a very thin girl. I got SO much shit for it.

Church ladies losing it, fathers trying to touch me, not being able to go swimming because of old men ogling me constantly, touched by teachers, photographed without consent at random places... I could go on and on....

Most men are trash.

Yes to all of this! My curves developed earlier than most and was told I have the body for porn.. at 14!!! by one of my classmates nonetheless. They made that seem like some compliment. I also responded by wearing baggy clothes and be as tomboyish as possible. Only now in my 20's am I able to feel secure enough to wear dresses and other "more feminine" clothes. It feels like I was robbed of my girlhood.

I went to school with a girl who developed super early, she had Cs or Ds by 5th grade. This was 30 years ago but I still clearly remember all the harassment she got from the boys. Constant lewd comments, mockery, and she was even groped a few times. She was a whole head taller than all of us and very rough-and-tumble though, and she finally just started beating them up whenever they messed with her.

it doesn't end either. i'm trying to lose weight now because i'm sick of being cat called for having a big butt. i'm not even overweight. (5'5" 135lbs) now my goal is to be the lowest weight that is healthy for my height so my butt will be unnoticeable (115 lbs)

i got made fun of constantly, now these girls are getting surgery to get the body that i wish i didn't have.

Never developed an ED, really; definitely some disordered eating. Have always had a sizable chest, and have always carried shame because of it. Men sexualize me immediately (I think they don’t know it sometimes, but I can see it and feel it) and it disgusts me. All bc they grew there without my consent, my control. These harassment magnets. These things that make nobody actually take me seriously. They’re just a pain in my ass, really.

Edit, the next morning: still thinking about this. And how one of our business columnists literally will sit there staring at them with his mouth open, while talking to me. I tried to tell another coworker about it once and she said “oh no, please don’t ruin him for me!” Ha. I make an effort to never talk to this guy (and thankfully with COVID don’t have to)

This makes me nauseous. I was also that kid who developed very early, my boobs couldn't fit into my uniform anymore and wore baggy hoodies over them to save money from buying a new one.

And there's this one memory that forever stuck with me; one day, we were changing for PE class, the girls would comment (passive aggressively) on my boobs as always but this time, one of them told me how she envy me and that she'll get hers implanted if it didn't develop, some of them even agreed, we were 13 years old and what really got me is that they looked serious about it.

Most of the street harassment I’ve gotten occurred when I was 12-14. Definitely contributed to disordered eating, shitty body image, and pickmeism. Little boys are a problem but so are grown men who prey on adolescents.

Yep. I’m not curvy by any stretch but I had a lot of bullying and harassment from boys all thru middle school because I was small and shy. I was extremely sex/relationship avoidant until college. Middle school boys are awful, are exposed to porn and locker room talk and most never mature beyond that. Women grow up traumatized by being over sexualized by age 12 and as a result think men’s bare minimum is respectful and romantic.

That really illustrates how much growing up "the sexualized and objectified class of humans" complicates women's relationships with our bodies to an unhealthy degree.

I feel so understood for once. I would wear baggie hoodies and try to tape down my breasts because I hated them so much. Made me hyper aware of my gender in a way that never happened before.
