I'm in my second trimester and let me just say that almost nothing is comfortable to wear. Even maternity stuff isnt as comfortable as an oversized shirt and shorts. Maybe he should try carrying a baby for 9 months and see how he likes it

Damn, sounds like he loves his hoodies more than his wife pregnant with his child. Priority given to objects over people. If he can't afford more clothes, what business did he have co-creating a child? And that's exactly why you don't procreate with broke or stingy scrote, it's not good for you or your child.

Reading between the lines, I agree. Why else would she be so drawn to his clothes if they didn't represent something that was lacking? I get pregnancy is ridiculously uncomfortable but I'd just buy my own oversized tees instead of stretching out my husband's clothes.

This is so bizarre. I’m the type of person who borrows tons of clothes from my boyfriend when in a relationship and I have NEVER had one of them get upset over it. In fact, they all loved seeing me in their clothes. So to me this is just weird as hell. I mean, they’re married? It’s not like he can’t also wear the clothes just because she borrows them, so why is he acting like her wearing them prevents him from having anything to wear? Just do some laundry lol

HVM are proud, happy and touched when their girl wears their clothes.
My guess is this guy sees her as bandmaid broodmare and her taking his clothes is not endearing to him, it's like his appliance is malfunctioning. Hell replace her as soon as he meets the woman who he'll let wear his clothes all day long...

This dude sounds autistic to be honest. He seems really upset at having his order disrupted and he's super particular about the texture of his clothing? He also seems easily angered/enraged about borrowing from his PREGNANT wife in general. So, control and organization issues, very particular about the feel of his clothing but refuses to search for more, and easily angry about possessions. My ex had high functioning autism and was the exact same way.
I can MAYBE get being upset at your wife stretching out your good clothes but let's be honest there's no way she's picking out his best duds to wear. But this is a PREGNANT wife, diff story. He is NOT ready for a kid if he isn't ready to have his possessions borrowed, messed with or messed up. Also can't you buy more clothes? If you can't afford more t shirts how are you affording a kid?

You put into words exactly what I was thinking.
His totally pregnant wife’s desire to feel close to him is secondary to his need for control. I’m struggling to see his wife’s actions as purely selfish and damaging, which his reaction seems to imply. T-shirts can be replaced, his wife and the love she has for him cannot. (And yes, if you can’t afford a few t-shirts to replace ones she stretched out or, hell, to give to her, you can’t afford a child)
BTW - his statement “her clothes SEEM comfortable” also tell me a lot about how he interacts with her. It’s his judgement that takes precedence, not her lived experience. Has he bothered asking her about her comfort? Or what he can do to make her comfortable?

I agree that he could be autistic. Sounds for sure like he has SPD (sensory processing disorder) which is often present in those with autism or ADHD.
I have ADHD & slight SPD— finding a piece of clothing that isn’t distracting and uncomfortable is about as rare as a lightning strike. If I find something that is a comfortable fit, comfortable material, and holds up in a wash— I buy 2-3 in each color. As a kid & teen I used to throw tantrums / get very upset about my sister borrowing my clothes because she would stretch them out weird; but i’ve grown a lot as a person since then and am less materialistic so I’ll just give it away if it gets stretched out weird.

I think calling this autism is wrong and discriminatory. My husband is on the spectrum (we found out after our first son was diagnosed), and yes he is super fussy about clothes. But he would never be such a selfish jackass to me (or anyone he loves). Autism is not an explanation (never mind excuse) for being an asshole.

Just because the guy is an asshole doesn’t mean he’s autistic. I wish people on FDS would stop conflating these two things. Autistics usually are the opposite in that they like hoarding (collecting) things they like. Also, people can be picky about clothing and not be autistic. There are other processing disorders or neurological disorders that cause people to dislike certain sensory information.

I wouldn't say people conflate autism with being an asshole, at least not in that case? People brought it up because of the sensory processing issues, not specifically because they think he's an asshole. At least that's what I understood from reading the comments.
And yes, autism isn't the only thing tied to sensory issues, but it's often one of the first things people will think about.

I have atopic ezcema, I can only wear cotton t-shirt and pants with a certain feel to them because my skin is paper thin and every other materials feel like sandpaper on my skin. So I am extremely particular about the feel of them when out buying clothes.
But if a pregnant friend wants to wear my clothes because she feel "safe", I'll just be fine with it. Pregnant women got a pass sis - they deserve all the love. So how can this dude prioritize his damn clothes more than his own wife and future kid?

Its t shirts and workout shorts... why does he really care so much? These arent what many would be worried about ruining like expensive dressy or office clothes. Smh. If he is upset about it why doesnt he give them to her? Take her shopping for her own mens t shirts and shorts? Or go and buy himself more? She is carrying his baby. I felt weird reading all the comments on that post. The entire scenario smacks of a selfish sensory-obsessed loser (who clearly can’t afford having a child) being somehow in a “relationship” with a woman who is so desperate for his affection... That she keeps taking his clothes in an attempt to be closer to him.
