I went full FDS after I had the MOST AMAZING DATE in my 5 years of dating. We didn’t even kiss at the end. But I had the best time, and he kept extending the date, so I assume he had fun too. It was actually a very FDS acceptable experience.

He ghosted me 2 days later. I have not been on a date since and have really been working on leveling up.

I accidentally became pregnant. In my 30s with a great job and 100s of thousands in the bank. A happy accident in my eyes. I always thought he’d be best as a stay at home dad, since he didn’t make much. I would have supported the family. He pressured me to abort. He resented me mainly for not being beautiful enough. I was married to an abusive porn addict for four years. His abuse started as soon as he got me across state lines and away from anyone who could help me. The last straw was a slow process. I was sick of his porn addiction. I was sick of him trying to cheat on me every time my back was turned. I was sick of my life being at a complete standstill because of him.

He got a corporate job and they sent him across the country for training. Almost immediately he was on Craigslist personals trying to cheat on me. He was trying to orchestrate a hookup with some decrepit old man in the desert and the proof was in his email account that he never logged out of on our shared computer.

I knew in that instant I was done. I was getting a divorce and nothing was going to stop me. Not his threats of suicide, not his financial abuse, not my lack of places to go. He came home unexpectedly over the holidays and I happened to find sex toys and lube and toy cleaner in his suitcase when I went to do his laundry and I unloaded on him. I had never stood up for myself to anyone, ever at that point in my life. I was the embodiment of rage, dear reader.

To make a long story short, I was young, I was hot, scores of other men found me attractive, and I wanted to get laid. I'd already wasted 5 years of my life on this loser and I was burning daylight.

So....not a healthy rationale but it eventually got me to where I am now.

We were talking for three months for 5 hours a night on the phone (it started long distance). He said all manner of fucked up shit including talking about his kinks. What did it was when he got mad at me for telling a mutual friend that we were speaking.

Another time (after FDS) I had a man tell me on the first date that women in my town are crazy. I got home and blocked him.

Last proper relationship - he was Mr Excuses and didn't sympathise with my lifestyle (I have a demanding job). But he had a big cry that his friends didn't "like" his relationship status update on Facebook. Seriously, we spoke on it for hours. I told him to confront them. He didn't and turned it into a fight about a few compounding things. So I asked him to return my apartment key. What a shit show.

I had a really good phone call with a guy from OLD, I was really excited about him. I looked up his # and found out he had lied about his age by 10 years. I blocked him and deleted the apps, about 3 months ago. I was just so over it.

I'm so happy for all of you, finding your strenght to walk out of your situation.
My last straw looks so tame in comparison and to this day it amazes me how I could braze through a ton of red flags but get this one right:
We had a talk about honesty and gaslighting -also known to him as white lies- in our relationship, and I voiced my wish we would work on our relationship and communication.
He petulantly told me, he didn't want to - and that was the moment I felt so disgusted by him I had enough.
What galled me the most, was his nerve to tell me: "All in all you've been a good girlfrind." as if he'd be some sort of prize and I simply havn't been good enough for him.
Back then I was such a clown, and it took some time and you fabulous gals for healing and growing.

Him ghosting me for 10 days after me asking what happened to his mom after he had cancelled twice to our anniversary date. He never told me what happened and decided not to speak to me when I asked. He claimed that I should have known he needed space but he never verbally said “I need space”. There was a lot of other shit that happened during the relationship but this one was really the icing on the cake.

My ex was an all out asshole, emotionally abusive, sexually abusive, verbally abusive, he did it all besides hit me. He did hold me down once, and trapped me in is apartment though, and yet I stayed 🤡 The final straw was about a year later when I developed tinnitus (constant ringing in my ears) and I just needed someone to talk to and be supportive, which he was not, never was, idk why I thought he would change. Maybe I thought because he was a type 1 diabetic and could empathize with having a condition there was no cure for. However, the boy has never had an empathetic bone in his body, why did I delude myself into thinking he did?? I will truly never know. I was truly at the lowest in my life I was going to doctors’ appointments left and right.This boy never offered to take me to one, even though I have gone to his many doctors appointments. My pickme self already knew it was a waste of time to even bother asking. But he had time to go to a pool party near my house while I was having my worst day, didn’t even invite me, found out the day after, because I did some detective work. Of course he was never going to tell me, and this was during the summer of the pandemic. I had been diligently quarantining, he was clearly not even though he told me he was being good. LIES. He even made plans to go back to this friend’s house the next day. Had to ask him to come see me. 🤡 What hurt the most was that the thought of me never crossed his mind, and needless to say I was livid. But I was the one that was cursed out over the phone and told I was being unreasonable. I blocked him, was gonna unblock him the next the day, but he unfriended me, unfollowed me on whatever we were connected on. So I left him blocked and that was the end. The final straw. I found FDS a few months later and I have been repulsed by men ever since. I love you ladies, you’re all so strong, and I’m so thankful to have found a community here with you all. ❤️

My ex put me out of my own house and then had the nerve to cry when I left. I went there 3 times to get my stuff of course with police just in case the last time I had a PTO for my pets because he was threatening to harm my pets and hurt me. Things started to escalated fast because he was an abusive narcissist SOB that abusive me in so many ways and I was so tired of it.

All of these stories have genuinely shocked me! My last straw in my most recent relationship was my ex telling me, after 9 years, that he still ‘didn’t know’ if he wanted to marry me. We got together super young (18) and I had been really patient for a long time because I knew he wasn’t totally ready. We had a great life together for like 90% of the time, but I just knew I needed more than what was on offer. A real shame as nothing bad happened, just an unfortunate growth in different directions I think!

Going through domestic abuse at the hands of my abusive, piece of shit ex.

I remember the exact moment I knew I was done and needed to get the fuck out of there and fix my life.

It’s like a feeling that you hit your critical mass for bullshit. Your ability to tolerate any more bullshit is destroyed. You begin to look for red flags, begging for an excuse to cut motherfuckers off. You become harsh and ruthless.

You don’t look back or regret. You block motherfuckers the FIRST time they step out of line and keep it moving.

You don’t trust anymore. You refuse to fall for men beyond a certain point. You’re in more control of your feelings and emotions. You refuse to let your feelings for guys develop beyond a mild interest and this helps you stay in control.

You don’t give a fuck. You don’t care about “his side”, you don’t give a fuck about “doing what’s right”, you don’t give a fuck about “forgiveness”, “giving him a chance”, “”cLoSuRe” or anything else other than your peace of mind.

You don’t care that “he’s nice” or “there’s nothing wrong with him”.

You only give a shit about ONE THING:

“Shit either IS or ISNT helping me”. If it’s not beneficial , helpful, or uplifting me in any way, I AM OUT. IDGAF if it makes me look cruel or immoral. I have my own back FIRST AND FOREMOST.

Went on a date with someone I didn’t really like. His face was nice on the pictures but he didn’t bring anything to the table. Personality was unseasoned, we talked once in a blue moon and the conversations were boring. He asked me out, I said yes while knowing damn well he was boring as f*ck. But “He CoUlD bE ThE oNe” right?

First of all I was late because I missed the bus and didn’t really care. When I arrived and saw him from a distance I was disgusted by his appearance. His style of clothing and shoes were f#cking hideous. I wanted to walk past him but he recognized me. And from that moment on everything went downhill.

His personality was even more trash in real life. He didn’t keep the conversation going so I was asking all the questions and it felt like a job interview. He would keep giving me a weird look and sometimes as me “why are you asking that” (I was asking the most basic questions like if he liked his job, sibblings, of he dated often babla).

I was really done with him and way too smart for him. He kept asking if we would do anything after having our drink (walk around town which I declined. But I told him he could come up with something better if he wanted to). He then pulled the big ole “I need to go to the bathroom (and I’ll let my friend fake a phone call”. He lied about his mom being in the hospital and needing to leave. I knew he was lying and should’ve called him out but I didn’t lol. He literally didn’t wait for me to zip my jacket up, bolted out of the restaurant and ran.

Then I was blocked. The end.

Fuck him. That made me realise I was done with these b*tch %ss immature guys.
