I hate OLD in general, but Hinge is special. I always try to leave an interesting comment when I send someone a like, and at least half of the men I've done this with have used a feature unique to this app: you can invite someone to start the chat. They do this in lieu of answering the icebreaker I already sent to them.

It's weird and useless, but it literally sends the other person a message that says 'Scroteface has invited you to start the chat.' It's the epitome of laziness and truly pathetic. I get a sinking feeling in my stomach whenever I see it and I lack the arm strength to carry this many conversations. It's so frustrating, and honestly, defeating. Why am I even trying when these jerks can't even put in the effort to send a response to the comment I sent in the first place to.. you guessed it.. start the chat?

Ladies, if you see a man pulling this bullshit, just block and delete. He's not worth the extra energy spent on your part to keep things going. We really need to raise the bar out of hell because trying to genuinely connect with someone shouldn't be this hard.
